Hello Everyone - Hope you are all doing well today It's sunny and in the low 60s here, so nice fall weather. Ginny - Your board is really pretty. I'm glad the kids had fun making them Glad you were able to get your plants inside before the frost. Ruth - Hope you are getting some crocheting done today. Phyl and Sue - Hope you are doing some crafting too. I hadn't planned that charm pack quilt or had anything cut for it. I bought the charm pack with some other fabric with a mail order I made a few weeks ago from Bear Creek Quilt Company. Then when I saw the fabric I didn't really like it, but after I added the light fabric and the red cornerstones and red border, I'm happier with it. This morning I did cut up some fabric for more blocks of the Christmas mug that the Fat Quarter Shop put out a few weeks ago. I'm going to make 9 mug blocks, with all Christmas fabrics and make them into a wallhanging. I'll use the one block I already made, so I cut fabrics for 8 more blocks. I put that aside since it's something I can work on later. I need to get working on the half square triangles and star blocks for the Melodic Melody quilt along and hope to work on those the next few days. And I'd still like to make some Fall/Autumn items, so I need to figure that out. Take care everyone!

Ginny, those board paintings are beautiful.Seems like it would go very well with the other things in the room where you put the Amish doll unless you don't have room for it in there
CJ, I really like the mug block so I'm sure a wall hanging made with those blocks will be great and if you decorated for the holidays it would be a great decoration. I don't you, like me, Don't decorate though but it will be pretty for you to look at when you want to.
Well I got one goal accomplished on my October list of goals and that is the 10 hats.Since hats don't take a lot of yarn I wanted to use smalller amounts of each yarn from my stash and, in the process, discovered that I've started several hats while lie undone with only maybe the ribbed brim or some other part done. And the bad part of that is that some that have part of the body of the hat done have beautiful stitches and I don't know what they are nor do I know what size hook I was using. Gotta stop being so lazy and put notes with them giving all needed infor.
CJ, yes I've found the same with yarn. I have some that I don't really like but when put with another color or two it makes the "ugly" color be pretty also.
I'll probably make more hats since they are so portable and with all these PT sessions I need something like that. My goal for this week, however is to finish a couple more things for my two youngest grandboys and a little thing for each of the girls. Ive made them a lot of scrunchies (which I didn't see them using when I was there) so I think I'll make chapstick holders. For the grandboys I'm not sure yet.

Ruth, hope that you are able to figure out how you started some of those hats- beautiful stitches and hook size plus pattern. I bet you get excited over a new pattern, get started with it and then become distracted. You are so very talented with a crochet hook! Nice job getting 10 hats done! I do not make one a year, so what you have done is quite an accomplishment.
CJ- I tend to like a lot of Bear creek fabrics…and have to complement you on your ability to make a fabric selection work that you were less than pleased with in the beginning. The quilt top looks great, and that is such a nice pattern to work with. Think its a great idea to make a wall hanging with just the christmas mugs…which honestly I think is the best of all the block designs I have seen from that QAL. Think a wall hanging will be really cute in varied fabrics.
I picked out that board painting thinking it would be an easier one to make while making the kids with theirs…then the way that worked out, I worked with each grand child individually, I didn’t get a chance to make mine until today. Ruth you’re absolutely right I picked a pattern now cause it’s got swervingI didn’t get a chance to make mine until today. Ruth you’re absolutely right I picked a pattern now cause it’s got sort of an Amish look. Tomorrow when I get the bracket on to hang out with I’ll figure out where I want to hang the picture, and I’m thinking it will go downstairs where the Amish doll is that I made a few weeks ago. Hard to believe tomorrow’s Monday, see you in the morning!
Phyl how was your weekend? You were going to have company. Sue, hope you are doing well.
