Good morning!
CJ- excellent progress on the Temperature quilt! Are you pleased with how it’s turning out? Bet it sill be interesting as you add the temperatures of different months and seasons. This year, honestly so far is boring. We have had few really cold days. That being said, I hope that this summer is a normal summer and not one with extreme temperatures. You sure do have a lot of kits in your stash. The pace that you make quilts at- well you could finish those 20 kits by the end of the year. But then with the QAL’s that you are so good at, well the kits might last longer than that.
Ruth- that is the one problem I had with the baby afghan, it’s repetitious and can be a bit boring. Sorry that the tipped scales blanket is so tough on the fingers. It’s when I was last making that baby afghan I discovered that I have a problem with excessively repetitious patterns (and end up buying a brace for when I need it). I hope that the doctors office contacts Dh soon to get the MRI done. Think it’s just a good thing to find out what is going on, especially a non invasive test.
Watched most of the first football game and only a little bit of the second. I dislike both teams that won (but both were predicted to win). Today I greatly prefer most of the teams that are playing. DD came over with DGS yesterday am, and she was looking for her electric keyboard. (She used to play piano, and was actually pretty good). I knew pretty much where everything was except for the power cord, which after cleaning 2 closets, I found. I will give her the keyboard Monday now that I have located all the accessories. While looking for that (and a minor reorganization of one closet) I found some of Dh’s flannel shirts, I figure my kids will want them and will wash them and let them take what they want. I had wanted to work on the PMQ and at least read through the directions for final assembly. I did read though them and now have to rip off the bandaid and start this process of assembly. Think I will wait until the whole quilt top is assembled before I order the 3 1/4 yards of fabric needed to back the quilt. Its been fun to make and I really liked how neat it was to get fabric sent to me in the mail, but am not thrilled with fabric (good quality, its the prints that I dislike). So I might get to the end of this project and just not finish it completely.
Thanks for the concern about Dd. About 4 weeks ago she got a diagnosis that actually makes some sense. She has found one allergist (who specializes in this) who is doing a small amount of additional testing. She has an appointment for another visit with a specialist (this one recommended by our primary care doctor)- who has a long wait to get into. DD has an appointment with this doctor in a mid February. Not sure why Dd went to this other specialist (same speciality as the doctor she will be seeing in February) other than her friend who is a physicians assistant, recommended this doctor. Well this doctor had no wait - an appointment was easy to get. He did not listen to a word Dd said about other information she had and focused strictly on one piece of information, asked for redundant tests and generally was not open to hearing that DD’s symptoms seem to be on a slow improvement. Being that she is seeing the doctor our PC recommended in a few weeks, I pulled the car over, listened to her vent and told her to stay the course and ignore what she just heard from this specialist. Hope I am making sense.
