These are the fabrics I will be using for the fabric cafe quilt that I mentioned yesterday. The colors are more in the blue family than the picture shows- and actually work really well in my living room. Ruth, here is a picture of the baby bunting, which unfortunately has a zipper closure. I know you dislike sewing into a crocheted garment… the directions will follow. Let me know if you are interested in a better copy of the picture, directions or both.

Hello Ginny - I'm glad you are feeling better. I hope you don't get too much bad weather and that you can get to the store before it comes. That fabric will be really pretty in the 3 yard quilt pattern. Ruth - Sorry to hear about the snow being pushed into your yard, especially when they can use the yard of someone who isn't home. It was in the 40s here today and sunny, so pretty nice weather. I was able to finish machine quilting the two panels I had ready. So now I have the four panels ready for binding and hope to get that done sometime in March. I don't plan to quilt the red, white and blue paisley quilt. It's a really pretty quilt that I would rather have quilted on a longarm with an edge to edge design. Many years ago I tied a flannel quilt I made, but I haven't tried tying any cotton quilts. I think I figured out why my stitch length wasn't always right when I'm machine quilting - it's because of my speed. I was going too fast so it was making the stitches small. I started on another quilt top today, it's a variation of a 3 yard quilt using some of those old fabrics I've had since 2009. I have all the blocks made and I just need to sew the rows together and the top will be done. I want to get it done before the end of this month. Take care

Ginny,it looks to me also, altho I'm not a quilter, but judging from the picture on the site you shared I think this fabric will make a beautiful quilt. And thank you for that picture of the bunting and directions. I think that if I screen shot those I'll be able to see them well enough to make that and it looks really nice so that would be good. And I think I can adjust it enough that I can slip stitch some of it together and put on buttons rather than a zipper.Did you get out to get the things you need to tide you over if needed?
CJ, I forgot that you mentioned the stitches being shorter than they were supposed to be. I agree that if you go too fast if affects the length of the stitches. Having had my sewing machine "lurch" on me I've had that happen. It lurches because I don't use it enough to remember how much I need to press on the foot to sew. I hope this summer to use my machine more. Yes we're almost into March so we may as well start setting up our goals for that month.
The other day I crocheted a sock and a bootie so today I made the other bootie and of course it didn't turn out the same size as the first one so I started another. It wasn't too far off in size but I just need to make it a little better. The sock was fine in length but way too wide and the cuff around the leg is too large so I'll work on that.I'm probably going out tomorrow to take care of just a couple errands. One was taking a box to the post office which I was going to do last Monday but then realized it was a holiday.
I hope you both have a good night's sleep and feel rested tomorrow.
