Thank you, Ginny, for the suggestion. I was thinking of benadryl but don't have any right here. I do have an antihistamine but they make you drowsy. I guess drowsy is better than itchy. And thanks for prayer

Hello Hope you are having nice weather today. It's much warmer here and sunny, more like an early Summer day. Ruth - I'm sorry to hear you are dealing with that rash. I hope you can find a medication that will help with it. Ginny - Hope you were able to assemble your quilt today. I was able to sew together 4 of the 8 strip sets for the jelly roll quilt this morning, I hope to get the other 4 sets done tomorrow. Then I can cut them into the 8.5 inch blocks and wait to get the rest of the fabric to finish. I also made the weekly block for Pat Sloan's quilt along, there are just two blocks left in this quilt along and I'll be glad to finish because I really haven't liked the fabric combination I chose for this one. It was just a way for me to use a floral fabric that I didn't really like and can't figure out why I bought The border design she has is all half square triangles and I think I'm just going to put on a straight inner border and outer border and not bother with all those triangles. Hope you all get to do some crafting today too. Take care!

Hi CJ, I'm glad you're almost done with that quilt that you don't care for very much. It's so hard to get rid of our remnants or something we bought then wondered why. I think we have that problem in nearly every craft.All. the little,or even larger pieces just beg to be used and we do our best to not waste them. The antihistamine I have was prescribed by the doctor that dagnosed my interstitial cystitis. It didn't help that at all but I held on to it and am glad because it's helping a bit with the itching. Ok, so I waver on my decisions . I'm going to wait to buy the pink yarn to finish that blanket. When I looked at it again I decided my plan wouldn't work well.So I set it aside. Then I ripped out the other blanket I was working on because, even though I re liked the stitch when I saw it on youtube I didn't like i once I made that part of it. So now I've started another of those Jesus Loves Me car seat blankets I'lll bbl s

Ruth, and I say this with a smile on my face….bet that CJ and I wish we could rip out quilts we did not like the pattern for- well I guess we could but then you are still stuck with pieces you cut!! I am so glad you are so resourceful that you are willing to rip out an afghan you were working on to use that pink yarn for another project. Or maybe I have it confused…and you are using another yarn. Think another Jesus loves me car seat afghan is a great idea. I know for my DD’s they have car seats in their cars and their husbands cars…heckI have a couple of car seats in my car. I am so glad that the antihistamine that you had in the house is helping with the itching. I have allergies so benadryl (which is cheap!) is something I keep in the house. Hope the rash is going away!!!
CJ- it’s just so funny how taste in fabric changes, for that matter the type of fabric available changes over time. I am glad you are finding a way to use up fabric that you are no longer so in love with. You must have had a good reason to buy that floral, or perhaps you bought it because it matches you had that was used on another project. I have some fabric like that. Would sure be nice if we could swap our unloved fabrics with each other. A lot of guilds do that, they have fabric swap days. That is a great idea to put a straight border on the quilt instead of all those HST’s. Sometimes fancy borders look great- but other times they just seem to fussy to me.
Started getting the quilt sandwich together and I will return to that shortly. My allergies are acting up a bit, and I am resisting taking Benadryl until I am ready for bed, so I can get the added benefit of it making me sleepy!

Phyl, I was thinking chigger bites but the first red bumps were on my face and neck and back of one knee. I could see maybe chigger bites there but I did have jeans of but I guess they could have climbed up my leg but why only the one leg.I hope you have a great time on your trip. l Ginny, Benadrl has the opposite effect on me. It makes me hyper and then I can't get to sleep for hours. I'm glad you were able to do some work on the sandwich. Maybe by now it's done and ready for the binding. Yes that's why I crochet...it's easy to pull out. The pink blanket isn't the one I ripped out..i'm just waiting on more pink yarn for that one. the one I ripped out is the one with the odd marshmallow color. I'm making good progress on the car seat blanket even though I have to write the lines of the pattern out so I can check off things as I do them or I lose track

Yikes Ruth! I’m so sorry the Benadryl does the opposite thing to you. It’s funny how we all react differently to different medication’s. OK so I figured I saw a messed up on the afghans and which one you were working on. Well I’m glad that you’ve got more pink yarn Coming. And that’s great that you’re making good progress on the car seat Afghan. I got my quilt sandwich all done, and I just did a few sample stitches to see if I can still remember how to do free motion. It’s too late in the night for me to work on that but I will be hopefully free motion quilting tomorrow.

Hello - Hope everyone is feeling better today and having a good day It's in the 80s here today and sunny. I finished making the strip sets for the jelly roll quilt and have the blocks all cut, just need to wait to get the fabric I ordered. I also made one of the Crown blocks and it turned out alright. I don't think I'll try to make anymore and just keep this one as it is, it would make a good pillow since it finishes at 14 inches. Hope you all have a great weekend!

Phyl, thank you so much for the information and also the suggestion that I go look up chiggers online. I did go and read several articles and saw quite a few pictures. I don't think these are chigger bites because it all started on my face instead of feet and legs where chiggers would normally bite. Plus they are spreading and chigger bites don't spread according to all the articles. And I think it's probably too cold for chiggers yet.I sure appreciate you mentioning them. I have a feeling that it's some kind of plant that I didn't recognize or a medication allergy although I haven't started and new one in about six months.
Yes, it's pretty cold here today. I'm not planning anything except the usual cleaning and crocheting.
CJ it sounds like a great plan to use that block for a pillow. It's a really nice block
Ginny, looks like you're making real progress on that quilt. In no time you'll have them done and ready to gift.

Phyl, hope you can get all your laundry and cleaning done. It sure is a lot of work…and you have not been feeling 100%
CJ- totally agree with you on the coronation block- you made one (what colors did you use) and it does sound as though it would make a perfectly sized pillow, as you mentioned
Ruth-is the rash going away at all? Itchy rashes are no fun.
Babysat today - so I got no quilting done. Hoping I can get to start my swirls of quilting this weekend. G

Ginny, sorry you didn't get to work on your quilt and I do hope you'll be able to work on it on the weekend. Swirls sound like a good choice for the quilting. No, the rash is not clearing up any. It's still spreading and is now on my hand and further up my leg and further down my chest. Whatever it is I'm sure it will go away soon. I'd like to find out what it is because I don't want to spread it to anyone if it's something contagious but dh hasn't contacted it so I'd say it's not contagious.
