Good morning and Happy Monday!
All crafters are welcome here as we discuss crafting, life and our weight loss journey. Crafting includes actual hands on crafting, such as crochetting, knitting, sewing, quilting, needlepoint, painting, jewelry making, etc.....plus reading craft catalogs, craft blogs, watching craft you tubes or other crafting videos, chatting here about crafting, chatting with another person about crafting, playing a musical instrument, reading craft emails, thinking about crafting, organizing crafting supplies, going into craft stores or the craft aisle in a store ,researching a new quilt shop, attending craft fairs,or any other activity that inspires or directs your mind toward a crafting activity- even visiting us here to join in our posts!! There are plenty of days in which the closest we get to crafting is a visit here, so even if you have no time to craft, we would love to hear from you. And one of us is never going to buy a fat quarter bundle again! We welcome newcomers to our friendly discussion! So glad you are here!! Please feel free to stop in and say hello!!

Ruth, well that sure stinks that you had to rip out 6 rows….but so good that you are figuring out how to combine those Herrschenerrs colors to make something beautiful.
CJ- whatever you are working on today- quilting or your project, I hope it goes well for you!!!
Babysitting for me today…so a long day for sure.

Happy Thanksgiving week everyone
It's much colder here today which I dislike immensely. So ok, I'll just sit and crochet. I did get the bags out to store in my vehicle until I get more things together to donate. I also have a large bag of crochet hats to take to a different place.I'll be happy to have this afghan done but there's still a lot more of it to do
Five weeks till Christmas!

Hello - Hope you've had a good day. It was a bit colder here today, sounds like tomorrow will be a rainy day. Ruth - Sorry for your colder weather too. I hope you're able to get your things donated soon, and to drop off the hats. Ginny - Hope your day wasn't too tiring. The only crafting I've done today was checking out pictures on Facebook. People are posting their finished Autumn Wonders tops and Moda Blockheads quilt tops, so I like to see them every day. Sure wish I was able to get my Moda Blockheads tops done, but I have to put them aside. I've been getting some boxes together for donation and hope to get those picked up in December. I'm not doing anything special for Thanksgiving and with all I have going on I almost forgot it's happening this week Take care!

Ruth!! You are back as you and not a guest…..and I hope that afghan goes quickly. Glad you got all the stuff out to the truck for donating, but hope you did not over do it in accomplishing that.
CJ- well my donation pick up is in a week….great minds think alike I suppose. (Ruth too!!!). Hope you can stay nice and warm and dry tomorrow when the rain comes . Perhaps a good day for you to quilt if other responsibilities do not call your name.
Wish I could say I got a lot of quilting in, but it has been a typical Monday and I get very little time to myself. I did make some adorable turkeys with the 2 grandsons….will post pictures tomorrow when I get a breather. The turkeys are made with candy corn and Oreos. Easy and cute…
Sleep well!

Yes I'm on my other laptop so I am not a guest here. Ginny making the turkeys with the little fellows does sound like fun and the turkeys themselves fit right into your Thanksgiving decor edibles. It's a great idea.
CJ, me too. I was up for awhile today before I realized that this week, not next, is Thanksgiving week. It sounds like you have a great deal to do related to the issues you mentioned but I do hope you can find adequate time to get in enough quilting time to be able to take breaks and relax.
I'm watching the football game but also crocheting.

I went to bible study last nite….and watched no football. Just saw the score and well as I dislike both teams I am still happy with the results.
I really really really hope to have the energy and time to either embroider today or quilt…. Ruth and CJ- hope you both have a great day and are productive in what you must accomplish, but also in crafting

Hello - Hope you are both having a nice day It's cold an raining here today, I don't think I'm going to even go out and get the mail. Tomorrow is supposed to be windy, which always worries me. I decided I'd give myself an hour this morning to do some sewing on my quilt which already had all the pieces ready to make into blocks. This is the one with the red, green and white snowflakes. I looked and looked at the placement of the strips before I started sewing them together - 32 strip sets - and while I was sewing I thought to myself "I'll just cry if I'm piecing these wrong". Well of course, after I'd finished a whole set and looked at it, I had one piece turned wrong in all 32 sets I didn't cry, but was disappointed. Now I have to rip all 32 seams out and re-sew all those again! I brought them downstairs with me and I'm going to sit on the couch to do the seam ripping. Hopefully I can get them sewn back together in a few days. Take care

Oh CJ- my heart breaks for you! Think that is the worst, when you allow yourself a limited amount of time to quilt along with all the other stuff you must accomplish, and that time just does not go as smoothly as you had hoped. (Lord knows that has happened to us all!!!). Put on some good music or a TV show or movie, and hopefully the time ripping those strip sets apart will go more easily for you.
Ruth, how has your day been going? And you are never a guest here…even when the tablet says you are!!
Insanely busy day….but got a fair amount of stuff done. My visit with the eye doctor went well and I did get some errands done. It snowed here for a while….now its just a cold rain.

I don't really dislike either of the teams that played last night but am not a fan either so I didn't care who won and didn't really pay much attention to the game. I mostly concentrated on my crocheting. Ginny, I hope you either get the energy to do that embroidery or quilting like you mention or just rest.
CJ, I'm so sorry your one piece was not on there right and you have to rip 32 seams. I hate ripping out seams even more than I dislike ripping out crochet rows. Not that I do a lot of sewing.
DH and I did a lot of cooking today so now it's nearly 5 and I haven't had a chance to crochet yet but will soon.
It's in the 50's here today but very windy and on Thanksgiving we're supposed to get 5 inches of snow and the high will be only 20 degrees...bahhhhhhh

Good morning!
5 inches of snow is enough to have to bother with….and knowing that you will have to clear it, I hope the snow is less than they predict. With all the cooking you and DH did yesterday, I bet that some wonderful leftovers result….which should make for an easy day I hope. And Ruth, I figure that you are sleeping now, so this will not be one of those times when we are typing at the same time.
CJ- hope you slept well last night and that the seam ripping has gone well.
Got some cooking this morning and another doctor appointment. This morning I also want to clean out the stove (my propane stove) and I pray that just the act of cleaning it out solves the problem. It will not stay lit- I called for service yesterday and they are all booked up until February (how insane is that). So there are some simple things I can do to it without having a college degree in stove repair. Got church this evening…so I am not super sure how I will get to quilt today.

Hello Ruth - Sorry to hear about the cold and snow you are supposed to get tomorrow Hope you and your DH get to enjoy the food you cooked. Ginny - Hope you can get your stove to work - that is crazy for no appointments until February! I did get all the seams ripped out - what took me 30 minutes to sew took me 1 hour and 30 minutes to rip out I don't know when I'll get back to sewing them together correctly since things are getting crazy at home right now. It's nice and sunny here after the rain yesterday. Hope you weather is nice too. Take care and have a good day!

Ginny, yes I definitely was sleeping when you were typing this morning I'm so sorry about your stove. It's ridiculous that they can't get to look at it until Feb!!! By that time winter is nearly over. And didn't you just get this stove last year? If that company wants to keep customers they need to do somethng about not having enough people to do service calls. I hope that whatever you do solves the problem.I know how you enjoyed the warmth in that room. CJ, yes it takes time to rip out seams without causing damage to the fabric and I know you sure don't want to do that. I'm sorry things are getting crazy at your house. Well as far as the snow goes, I watched the local news last evening (well only the weather report) and despite the fact that everyone says we're getting 5 inches of snow, the weather person say we're going to get less than an inch! I don't know who is correct but guess I'll find out tomorrow. Yes we made enough for plenty of leftovers so will have a variety of food for today and at least the next two days. I didn't get much crochet time in but did do about 8 rows which are quite long rows. I thought I had made a mistake and would have to rip them all out but took time to look carefully and it was only one row that needed ripping. I think I'll make cookies today and a loaf of bread. Probably will make whole wheat. I hope all goes well at your doctor app't Ginny. My dh's is one week from today.I know dh is not going to be happy with all the things he will have to do to prepare such as certain exercise to enable him to turn in bed, get in and out, etc without disturbing the surgical area. Then ther's going to be ekg and blood work.Maybe even PT which he will hate See you all later
