Good morning and Happy Monday!
All crafters are welcome here as we discuss crafting, life and our weight loss journey. Crafting includes actual hands on crafting, such as crochetting, knitting, sewing, quilting, needlepoint, painting, jewelry making, etc.....plus reading craft catalogs, craft blogs, watching craft you tubes or other crafting videos, chatting here about crafting, chatting with another person about crafting, playing a musical instrument, reading craft emails, thinking about crafting, organizing crafting supplies, going into craft stores or the craft aisle in a store ,researching a new quilt shop, attending craft fairs,or any other activity that inspires or directs your mind toward a crafting activity- even visiting us here to join in our posts!! There are plenty of days in which the closest we get to crafting is a visit here, so even if you have no time to craft, we would love to hear from you. And one of us is never going to buy a fat quarter bundle again! We welcome newcomers to our friendly discussion! So glad you are here!! Please feel free to stop in and say hello!!

Hello - Hope you are both doing well today and having nice weather. We're getting some cold weather here today and the next few days. I'm hoping my furnace can keep up with it. Ginny - That's a pretty star quilt pattern, thanks for sharing it. Their are lots of ways to go with fabric choices for a quilt like that Ruth - Hope you've found some time for your crochet projects. Have you had more snow? No quilting for me today. I had errands/shopping to do this morning and this afternoon I've been working in the house. I hope I can get some more things done this evening. I don't have as much energy now that I'm older, so I just have to do things in blocks of time. Take care

That is a very pretty quilt Ginny. Thanks for the link
CJ, yes as we get older we sure don't have the energy we had when younger but just wait until you get to be my age.
It was kind of a busy day. There was a lot of phone calls to make and trying to solve problems. Later I did do a little crocheting and will be doing more in a minute or two
See you tomorrow and sleep well

Good morning!!
Ruth, hope that you were able to take care of the problems - and solve them, a nice reward for your efforts. It can be so frustrating when we put a lot of effort into coming up with a solution and are unable to make that solution work. Hope that you got a lot of crocheting in last night.
CJ- yup- was thinking that the other day that I wished I had more energy. I did check out on the internet and they said for most people…there is a drop off in stamina after 70, due to loss of muscle mass. Gee this process of maturing (aka aging!) is not for the faint of heart. I hope that your work at home is going well and is not too frustrating. Me too, cooler temps are in store for this week, as it’s not supposed to be too cold, I pray that your furnace can maintain your house nicely.
Yes, I like that star quilt. First off its easy, and I know there will be a bit of fabric left from this baby quilt, so perhaps I can use it for that quilt.During DGS’s nap yesterday I was able to get some embroidery done - so there is progress on that project. I will be happy when that is finished…and will provide a picture of the project when it’s done. Same goes for the baby quilt, I figure tomorrow I will work on ironing the blocks and move into assembly.
Stay warm…. Hope you can get some crafting in!

Hello Ginny - I'm glad you have found time to do some embroidery and quilting, I look forward to seeing your completed pieces. Ruth - Hope all the problems were solved. I don't think I'll make it to your age, but I'm happy that you have made it there This morning I took some time and put the two borders on the other Christmas quilt, so that top is done now. I still hope I might be spend some time on the other tops I need to put together next month when the last block of the month patterns come out. I am frustrated with what I'm doing at my house. I thought I'd done a good clear out of things over the last few years, but I'm still finding lots to go through and it's really tiring. I just have to keep pushing myself to get things done. Take care

Ginny,it's great that you were able to get in some embroidery time while the little one was napping. And you also have a plan for using leftover fabric from the baby quilt so that's great too.
CJ, I hope you have a long and happy life. You will get to my age. And some people would tell you that if you haven't looked in bags or boxes for "x" number of years just toss the whole thing out without even looking inside. I know I couldn't do that and I'm pretty sure you couldn't either.
It was warmer here today. It was still cold of course but in the low 40's
Talked with dh for awhile earlier as he is very nervous about the dr app't tomorrow.
Mostly the problems yesterday were because people that left messages on my phone talked so softly that neither dh nor I could tell what they said so it involved calling them. They were businesses and dr offices. One said they would call back and they never did. Another we got stuck in their message feature and never got to talk to them either. Those type things just seemed to keep happening.
I saw an interesting video on youtube last evening for doing the rib brim for a hat. She called it a herringbone stitch but it's completely different from the hdc and dc herringbone that I've seen. I made a sample one and it's really fun and nice but time consuming. I'll probably use it when I get enough time.

Hello - Hope you are doing well and your weather isn't bad. It's been very cold here, only in the 30s today, but sunny. Ruth - I hope everything goes well for your DH's appointment today, please let us know Hope you get to make something with the new crochet stitch you saw. It might sounds strange, but I really don't want to live that long because I'm pretty sure I will be all alone. But we all have our time for our lives, so it will be what it is for me Ginny - I hope you've been able to do some quilting or embroidery. How is your propane stove working? I'm sure it's getting cold up there - did you already get snow? No actual crafting for me today, just checking out some blogs and pictures on Facebook. I'm still busy doing house stuff and I'll sure be glad when it's all done. Take care

CJ- I too will be very happy for you when all the “house stuff” you are doing is done and you are able to do more of what you like. I remember so well when trying to settle my mother and MIL’s homes and help both DD’s move, that when you think you have emptied something….you find something else that needs going over. It can be overwhelming. That is wonderful that you were able to get the borders on the second Christmas quilt….something enjoyable for you to do. Hang in there….both Ruth and I are here to support you.
Ruth, I will pray that all goes well- or actually has gone well with Dh’s doctor appointment. Gosh it’s so frustrating when the offices do not communicate well and there is so much room for misunderstanding. Of course, we are the patients, and must live with the final effect of what has been done or not done well. I am glad you found a new way to make a hat brim, even it if it time consuming. Sometimes the extra time is totally worth the effort to get a better result.
Saw the dentist this am and that tooth has been extracted. I was full of questions for him about the procedure….which actually went well and I feel good. And I got a letter in the mail that my healthcare no longer covers my doctor, so I had to address that. I took the letter to my doctors office and it’s all been straightened out- apparently they are negotiating a new contract with the insurer and that is the reason for the letter. My coverage includes out of network doctors so I was confused by the letter. Thankfully it’s all ok.
Ironed the ditzy daisies…and now I have to wait for the fabric I ordered for the flower stems. Think it has shipped already, so I should be ok and able to get back to work on the quilt in a few days. Guess I will embroider this evening

CJ, I know it will be a huge relief to you to have all that work done. Then you'll be able to do your quilting without feeling guilty that things are not done. You'll just have a little upkeep to do.
Ginny, I must have missed where you said you were having trouble with a tooth. I'm glad it was extracted in a way that didn't cause you much pain and agony. My old dentist have a great procedure for extracting teeth and I didn't feel a thing when he extracted one. The recent dentist is supposed to be associated with them but this one sure didn't use that procedure.
Mostly what concerned me was the ability to get home before dark since I can't see to drive in the dark and neither can dh but thankfully we did get back. I had texted my dd to see if she or someone in her household could come and drive us home but she didn't see the message until after we were already home but it worked out...thank you Lord! And thankfully dh was satisfied with the doctor visit.
Now I hope I will have a quiet evening crocheting

Ruth, what a relief that everything went well with Dh’s visit to the doctor. Thank you Lord… also such a good thing and a blessing that Dh is comfortable with how the doctor visit, confidence in your doctor is so important. Will Dh’s procedure be scheduled soon? I will pray that the timing for that is perfect and that Dh feels comfortable with what will take place.
The tooth has been suspect for a few years, and my dentist kept telling me that we would try to keep it for as long as possible. About 4 weeks ago it started bothering me, I saw the dentist just before Thanksgiving and he said it was time for it to come out. I did not want the extraction before Thanksgiving, so he put me on an antibiotic. I feel pretty good today, and am actually glad it’s not something I have to be concerned about.
Got a little bit of embroidery in last nite.
CJ- hope you slept well and are getting things done as stress free as possible.

Hello - Hope you are having a nice day with good weather. It's warmer here today, in the 50s. Ginny - I'm glad your dental appointment went well and I hope your mouth heals up soon. Ruth - I'm glad you and your DH made it home before dark and that your DH was satisfied with the appointment. I'm still working on house stuff so I haven't done any quilting. I would love to work on layouts for the blocks I've made for quilt alongs, but that will have to wait. Hope you both get to do some crafting. Take care

CJ, I wish we could come over and help. I know you want to get back to quilting so I do hope the organizing you're doing goes fast and you can get back to what you love to do.
Ginny, I'm glad the tooth is out then since it could no longer be maintained as it was.I hope your fabric arrives today so you can work on your dgd's quilt
I'm doing a little bit of "house stuff" today but not too much. I do have to get busy and get a lot more of it done. I did do some crocheting last evening.
Have a good day. I may stop in later
