Check out the review … yes you have to follow their directions exactly and gauge and hook size is critical. It’s a great idea however and at least , done properly, no weaving in all those ends!

Hello Ginny - I hope once your machine is serviced it will work well. Hope you can continue machine quilting on your other machine. I can understand how you felt with that lady trying to force you to tell her about your friend's condition. I'm always amazed at people like this! Ruth - Glad you could do some cooking and that you are enjoying starting another afghan. I bet your DD will love that in Harry Potter colors. I think we're all entited to have whatever fandoms we like, no matter what our age Sorry I couldn't provide YouTube video links last night, I was posting that on my tablet instead of my desktop computer. I still think I might get some of the yarn, just because I like several of the colors. I think it would be nice just to make a blanket in, or maybe a shawl. I hope to get to JoAnns sometime this week, it looks like it's on sale through Wednesday. My plan today is to finish that quilt top with the Moda Blockheads blocks. I haven't enjoyed this project from the start, but I'm going to finish it (at least to a quilt top). Then maybe I can pull something completely different out to work on. Hope you both have a great day

I haven't read any of the reviews of this yarn...the granny square yarn, so I was wondering how you get it to be a good granny square. And yes, not having to weave in all the ends is a good thing but the only thing I've been thinking of making with grannies is the 13 square tote bag so I'm going to pass on the yarn. As you said, CJ, they do have pretty colors and I've seem a lot of people using it to make things other than granny squares with it and the colors have looked nice in the blankets etc.Th
Today I'm going to make an apple pie. The store we went to had beautiful Honeycrisp apples for only 68 cents a pound so we got a lot of them. I don't know if people consider them baking apples but I use any apple that I have to make pie and apple crisp.I got a bit done on my newest started blanket and I'm happy with how it looks so I'll continue with this one.

Ruth, I did post a link late last night with a decent review of the yarn. The reviewer does provide in the video what happens if gauge is off or hook size is off and how she adjusted. As you and CJ both noted it comes in some pretty colors.. and it’s tempting to want to pick up some just to see what you can do. According to the reviewer you must follow their directions, which makes a ton of sense. Gee the apple pie sounds wonderful….and like you I will use whatever apples I have to make a pie or apple crisp. Honey crisp are a great eating apple however. So glad you are pleased with how the latest afghan is working up…and that you will continue with crochetting that. And yes, I agree with CJ that making a project in colors that will please your DD is a great idea and is a great and thoughtful gift for her!!
CJ- think it’s a great idea to get that blockheads project done and behind you!!! If you are not pleased with the project, get it done and then you can move onto a project that does pleases you. I am curious to see what color scheme you pick up if you get to Joanns and get some of that granny square yarn. Variegated yarns are fun to work with (love how the colors flow from one to another) so it will be neat to see what you pick out and what project you will chose to use the yarn on.
Chilly here this morning and for some reason I am cold right now…and am all bundled up. DD#1 and her family are sick (she tested positive for the flu) so I have no babysitting at all this week. That gives me the chance to get my machine out to have it serviced, and I will call tomorrow to see what day is best to drop if off.
Unfortunately I had to deal with the nosey person again this morning. Sorry, but I never really trusted this person much (I have dealt with her for a long time) and honestly would not trust her to put something in the trash for me with me watching. It’s just hard to find someone so manipulative when they perceive that they are being caring….grrrr….ok that is the last you will hear from me about that.
Gonna give a quick call to Joanns and then bring out the singer. Keep your fingers crossed.

OH I didn't see your link for the review, Ginny. I do actually have some grannies I want to make but they have a heart in the middle. I want to use them to make an afghan for one of my great granddaughters.
I sure hope the Singer machine works so that you're able to do some quilting while your wonderful machine is being serviced. I do hope you don't end up with the flu yourself. Keep warm and drink lots of liquids. That woman you mentioned sounds like a real pain in the neck person. Guess she doesn't have enough good things to keep her busy. She needs to take up a hobby.
