We are walkers, joggers, bicyclists, and some do other exercise. We set goals and keep track by miles. You can set your goal for any amount, count your miles any way you wish. The goal is consistency with exercise.
We started Jan. 20, 2003 on the WW Challenge Central Board as "250 Miles by June 1" & we've done 50 five-month walking challenges, including the one we finished Jun 1, 2023. You can find us on wwmessageboard.freeforums.net at wwmessageboard.freeforums.net/board/12/challenges
The group challenge is to average about 2 miles a day, 13 miles a week, or 50 miles a month; if you do it, in 5 months you will have walked 250 miles, and if you have stuck with the challenge and a healthy eating program for that 5 months, you will see wonderful changes in your health, fitness, and size!
Some people will finish well before the target date and will go for more or another 250 miles, but others will go at a slower pace, and new members may join along the way, so each member is welcome to set her/his own personal goal and target date. The new group challenge which started Nov 1, 2023, is "250 Miles by April 1, 2024."

Good Morning Challengers
Thanks KELLY for the new month start!
Yesterday I did all 6 of my main HHs, ate in my 💛 zone of pts. I had 3 meals, 0 snack, used 34 pts. We walked 2.2 mi before breakfast, then we walked 3 mi for lunch, so 5.2 mi for the day.
My “KISS” HHs (Keep it Simple and Specific) yesterday: - Do at least 10 mins of PT: N - Avoid salted snacks: 💚 - No “seconds” with snack: 💚 - No eating out of a container: 💚 - Limit phone after 9 pm: 💚 - Evening: Snack on Inspo; Read prayers, quotes, whys and goals: 💚 - FFFE (Food-Free Fasting Evenings): 💚 - JGTB (Just Go To Bed) around 10 - 11 pm: 💚
We had a great day! After our walk and breakfast I had a morning office appt and then we walked to a highly rated vegan restaurant we’d never been to, through a different neighborhood. We sat outdoors and the food was creative and fabulous. I had a delicious craft beer. Had lots of good birthday wishes by text and phone calls from DD1 and a former work colleague I hadn’t spoken to in years.
This am, day 2 of my leap year bday festivities, I’ve already had more texts and a FaceTime with DD2 and DGDs - they were in the car on their way to school. DH and I are going to walk to a newer breakfast place we haven’t tried yet.
I had 62 mi for the month of Feb despite the short month and the days I missed due to rain and illness.
Thanks for the BiRtHdAy wishes 😍. Greatly appreciated.
KELLY - GFY with the 3.01 mi yesterday. Was Leroy’s ortho appt OK?
Be well, and take care, for ourselves and for each other.

Good Morning Challengers Yesterday I did all 6 of my main HHs, ate in my 💚 zone of pts. I had 3 meals, 0 snack, used 25 pts. We walked 4.6 mi for a birthday breakfast out. My “KISS” HHs (Keep it Simple and Specific) yesterday: - Do at least 10 mins of PT: N - Avoid salted snacks: 💚 - No “seconds” with snack: 💚 - No eating out of a container: 💚 - Limit phone after 9 pm: 💚 - Evening: Snack on Inspo; Read prayers, quotes, whys and goals: 💚 - FFFE (Food-Free Fasting Evenings): 💚 - JGTB (Just Go To Bed) around 10 - 11 pm: 💚 For b day 2, we walked to a breakfast place we hadn’t been to before, on the popular restaurant street here. We were able to sit outside, and enjoyed it. They have a huge menu. Eating out 2 days in a row got me spoiled 🤣. It rained a little last night and it’s cloudy and windy out but I think we can walk. This am I attended my weekly WW virtual workshop - “How to stay inspired—no matter what the scale says.” It’s about focusing on NSV’s, non-scale victories - all the signs of progress, change and growth. Here’s the article: www.weightwatchers.com/us/m/cms/article/stay-inspired-no-matter-what-scale-says-2024Be well, and take care, for ourselves and for each other. Cait

SATURDAY!
Sheesh -- where have I been?
KELLY -- thanks for starting us off in March; guess I should take down my Valentine door hanger.
CAIT -- Happy Birthday! Happy Birthday! (See what I did there?)
MICHELLE -- you and Clair are doing great! Weighing everyday is a good check-in for me, too, but I'd like to lose a little instead of just not gaining.
Soooooo, my cardiologist's appointment Monday went well. He agrees that my breathlessness is probably a side effect of Brilinta. Thankfully, I can stop taking it around the end of March. Tuesday and Friday I swam laps and stretched; Thursday I went to water class & stretched.
147/250 miles 63/75 stretching Stretching: 2018:141; 2019:192; 2020:182; 2021:190; 2022:195; 2023:191 Jan:19; Feb:13; Mar: 1/31

Good Morning Challengers Yesterday I did all 6 of my main HHs, ate in my 💚 zone of pts. I had 3 meals, 0 snack, used 26 pts. We walked 2.6 mi after breakfast and picked up lunch takeout. My “KISS” HHs (Keep it Simple and Specific) yesterday: - Do at least 10 mins of PT: N - Avoid salted snacks: 💚 - No “seconds” with snack: 💚 - No eating out of a container: 💚 - Limit phone after 9 pm: 💚 - Evening: Snack on Inspo; Read prayers, quotes, whys and goals: 💚 - FFFE (Food-Free Fasting Evenings): 💚 - JGTB (Just Go To Bed) around 10 - 11 pm: 💚 It rained in the am but we waited and walked after it stopped. No Farmers Market because of the rain. This am it was raining a little, but it has stopped. ☀️ Re the NSV’s topic - I think the problem is that we take them for granted - we don’t pay enough attention to them, so we don’t get the mental benefit we could from reflecting on them and celebrating our achievement. Yesterday I read most of the day, trying to finish a classic British mystery from the 1930’s, but I also started a health book, “Outlive” by Peter Attia MD, about improving our “healthspan.” He says that the medical approach starts treating too late, when problems have erupted, instead of focusing more on preventive treatment. So many people have long term chronic health problems that can be prevented, or at least the odds could be improved, with preventive treatment. He calls these the “Four Horsemen”: ~ heart disease, ~ cancer, ~ neurodegenerative disease, ~ type 2 diabetes and related metabolic dysfunction AMY - It’s great to see you. Excellent progress, walking every day and letting go of 80 lbs from your highest weight. You’re improving your odds of good health with all the positive actions! We can’t change the genes we have, but the science says that our choices and actions can change how the genes are expressed. {{{hugs}}} Be well, and take care, for ourselves and for each other. Cait

I added 2.08 miles on Friday( 1 WATP & 1.09 mile walk at lunch) Saturday it rained so I did a 5 mile WATP. Sunday it was beautiful so I walked 3.09 miles.

Carol: Way to go on your stretching, swimming laps, and the water class. Glad your appointment went well.

Monday, Monday!
KELLY -- sounds like a great weekend, even if it rained Saturday. A nice long Sunday walk sounds heavenly!
AMY -- 80 pounds is a game-changer! Congratulations! I'm glad to hear you're walking every day. As others have said, that improves your chances of a healthier life going forward.
CAIT -- Those old-ish mysteries are fun! I surprise myself by being amazed at how people functioned before cell phones! "Just leave a message!" I'm trying to follow your JGTB lead and prioritize my sleep, so thanks for the inspo!
I went to water class and stretched in the pool yesterday, and I just finished a band/core/stretching workout. If I walk later today, I'll come back and edit. We just made plans for a long international trip this fall, and I want to be in the best shape I can!

Good Morning!!
Yesterday, I started the day with a 2 mile WATP and added a 1.27 mile walk at lunch. It was another beautiful day in the 60's. Today and tomorrow it is to rain.
Work was very busy as we had a call off. I was very tired by the end of the day.
Our one nurse practitioner comes back from her Maternity leave today. We are having a Mexican potluck for her.
Carol: Awesome job on your workouts. If you keep up with your current workouts you should be in great shape by the fall.
Have a good day!!
Happy Walking!!
Cait: WTG with your stats for last week. Your doing very well with your HHs, miles, and PT.

Long day at the office yesterday.
CAROL - Do tell about your Fall international trip! So glad you’re prioritizing sleep! It’s been a game changer for me. GFY with the lap swims, water classes and stretching. Glad the cardiologist appt went well and a mystery was resolved. Too funny re your Valentine door hanger. I’m not a seasonal decor person - all those deadlines, putting up and taking down, and stress! 🤣 Thanks for the bday 🥳🥳 wishes 👏👏! The 1930’s British mystery I’m reading is approaching a finale. It’s so interesting how different the manners, speech patterns and culture was. The damsels are beautiful and fragile, and limited in behavioral options. The gentlemen are mannerly.
MICHELLE - I hope you and Clair are doing well.
KELLY - GJ with the Fri - Sun miles and yesterday’s 3.27 mi. So glad you had nice weather. It makes such a difference in my mood. GFY prepping meals for the week.
AMY - So glad you’re walking regularly!
Be well, and take care, for ourselves and for each other.

WEDNESDAY! KELLY -- I'm glad one of your staff is returning; hopefully, that will ease the load. Good job walking and WATP, as always CAIT -- Great work! You are doing super with your weekly totals and HHs So...Africa! We booked a tour to Kenya, Tanzania, and Zanzibar (!) for October. Our little Hawaii adventure last year was a good reminder that we need to do what we can while we can. We're pulling out all the stops! Since I was about 12 I've wanted to do a hot air balloon ride over the Serengeti, and so we're going for it! Fred, for some reason, has always been curious about Zanzibar, so we're going for it! We've never gone on a tour before, but since we know absolutely zero about making arrangements in Africa we thought it was prudent. Plus, I understand if you want to go on a safari you must go with a tour, and of course we want to see the animals! We have plenty of time to prepare, but of course we know that time flies, so we need to start thinking about and preparing for it now. Back to strengthening (and walking)! Yesterday I swam laps and stretched in the pool, and I'm going to water class today and will stretch. Adding those in now. 154/250 miles 67/75 stretching Stretching: 2018:141; 2019:192; 2020:182; 2021:190; 2022:195; 2023:191 Jan:19; Feb:13; Mar: 5/31

Good Morning Challengers Yesterday I did all 6 of my main HHs, ate in my 💚 zone of pts. I had 3 meals, 0 snack, used 19 pts. We walked 2.2 mi before breakfast. I did 29 mins of PT exercises 🥳. My “KISS” HHs (Keep it Simple and Specific) yesterday: - Do at least 10 mins of PT: 💚 - Avoid salted snacks: 💚 - No “seconds” with snack: 💚 - No eating out of a container: 💚 - Limit phone after 9 pm: 💚 - Evening: Snack on Inspo; Read prayers, quotes, whys and goals: 💚 - FFFE (Food-Free Fasting Evenings): 💚 - JGTB (Just Go To Bed) around 10 - 11 pm: 💚 The dentist had a cancellation so I could get in for my cleaning which had been canceled when I was sick. And I was more productive yesterday with work 💪. We’re aiming to drive back north March 16-17, so I’m getting motivated to get things done. Deadlines do that to me. On the Appalachian Trail on walking4fun I’ve made it to the TN/NC border and the Great Smoky Mountains. On the map I could see Lake Santeetlah, where we were for a reunion of DHs childhood friends in 2001. The other day I was on good old “Rocky Top” and of course that song began running through my mind. CAROL - GFY with the lap swim, water class and stretching. Your S Africa and Zanzibar trip in Oct sounds great! That’s definitely motivating. Be well, and take care, for ourselves and for each other. Cait

Good afternoon,
I added a 2 mile WATP yesterday. Ate way too much at lunch and had the munchies last night.
Just got done with a 3 mile WATP with bands.
Cait: Good job on your good day with your HHs, miles and PT.
Carol: Unfortunately her return helps the Dr and the other 2 nurse practitioners but not us clinical staff as we are down 2 clinical staff to get the patients ready for the Dr or nurse practitioners.
WTG on the lap swim, water class and the stretching.
Waving to all!! Happy Walking!!
