Good morning and Happy Monday!
All crafters are welcome here as we discuss crafting, life and our weight loss journey. Crafting includes actual hands on crafting, such as crochetting, knitting, sewing, quilting, needlepoint, painting, jewelry making, etc.....plus reading craft catalogs, craft blogs, watching craft you tubes or other crafting videos, chatting here about crafting, chatting with another person about crafting, playing a musical instrument, reading craft emails, thinking about crafting, organizing crafting supplies, going into craft stores or the craft aisle in a store ,researching a new quilt shop, attending craft fairs,or any other activity that inspires or directs your mind toward a crafting activity- even visiting us here to join in our posts!! There are plenty of days in which the closest we get to crafting is a visit here, so even if you have no time to craft, we would love to hear from you. And one of us is never going to buy a fat quarter bundle again! We welcome newcomers to our friendly discussion! So glad you are here!! Please feel free to stop in and say hello!!

Happy Monday!!! Here we go again!
Sillyme- yes so glad you got that walk in! My faith has gotten me through muchā¦but my walks are really so important to my sanity. Glad that you and your Dh got a nice walk in yesterday. I am looking forward to your progress on your Tunisian crochet project.
CJ- did you make any progress on the rainbow scrap challenge block? It must feel good to have your great nephews taking some of the last items from the house. Itās a good feeling to know that those items will be put to good use by someone in the family.
Ruth, thanks for the explanation of Tunisian crochet. I inherited from my mom one of those hooks, which of course I have not used. I am glad to hear that Dh decided your game plan for the house was a good one. With your experience from being a nurse, and knowing him and your house as you do, I am sure itās the best plan to take care of him post op.
Slept pretty well once I fell asleep. No crafting yesterday as a friend stopped over in the afternoon. Today might be busy, but I do hope to watch one of those videos on how to make a bunch of HSTs, which I know I will need for the temperature quilt.

Good morning everyone. I work in network television. I love working in media. Tunsion crochet is like knitting but with a crochet hook. It's challenging but so fulfilling. I have been at my job for 20 years. I am noticing I am in a self discovery mode these days.

Yesterday was a weird day for me and my routine got messed up. Today is better. Weather is weird too. I little while ago it snowed and for a few minutes you could even so out the windows it was so thick but none stuck because it's been too warm. Today I cooked three things in advance so we'll be set for meals for a couple days. Tomorrow I'll make another apple pie.
Ginny, I'm glad you were able to sleep well after you finally got to sleep. I know Mondays are always busy for you.
CJ, are you ok. I think I may have missed one of your posts so I'm going to go back and look. I hope all is going well with you

Silly me- glad you found us here! Itās so important - well at least really helpful if you love what you do! 20 years is a long career in one industry !
Ruth- has today been more normal for you? That is strange that you had such heavy snow but then it was all gone in a hurry. I do remember you buying some apples a week ago- yummmm! Apple pie sounds so good.
CJ - how has your day been going?any news on when the closing will be on the house?
I did view 2 videos on making a lot of half square triangles today. Dd came over with her little ones so I have had no time really for crafting. Think I am going to crochet awhile

I did my first weigh in and I lost 2 pounds!!!! I will take it. I am making sure everything I eat and or drink is tracked. I love the fact I am not starving myself at all. I am subscribed to hungry girl. She has some interesting recipes that I must try. Tonight, I am thinking of making Cod, with some veggies. That will fill me up.
How is everyone doing today?? We are expecting lots of rain for the next few days, so i will have to walk the dog between rain drops.
I try to get up as often as possible, and I tend to walk around the office, our building looks like a college campus, so it isn't hard to get some steps in. I have a 4 day weekend coming up so looking forward, to work on my garden beds. Tackle some house projects... Goodness I am rambling. I hope you all have a great evening

Hello - Hope everyone is having a good day Ginny - I'm glad you found some videos on making multiple HSTs, hope you can use one of them for your quilt. Ruth - I'm glad the snow didn't stick. Hope you enjoyed the cooking and baking you've done. I watched a video yesterday of a British guy making scones and I'd like to try the recipe one day. isillyme - I'm glad you like your job and I hope your self-discovery journey is a good one. We were posting at the same time Congratulations on your weight loss, I'm glad you like this program and hope it works well for you. I haven't done any quilting the last few days since I've been busy with other things. I went up to my house today just to check on it and do a kind of final walk through to get any small things out of there and everything that left where I want it to be. I only have a few more things throw in the trash right before the sale is finalized. I do have some problems with leaky faucets so I've been keeping an eye on those. I'll be glad when that's not my problem anymore. I hope to finish making the rest of my Rainbow Scrap Challenge blocks over the next few days. I already finished about half of them. The new Blockheads pattern comes out tomorrow so I'll have that to work on too. And I ordered a few quilt kits, so I might try to start on one of those. Take care

Ginny, sounds like you're having a good day. I hope you enjoy it. Sillyme, congratulations on losing the 2lbs. More than 2 a week is not advised I don't think and your planned meal sounds very healthy. I'm not much of a seafood eater but cod is very healthy with lots of nice protein and of course veggies are also. Keep up the good work. I does get harder as you go along until you get used to the new way of eating. It sounds like you have a very interesting job and that you enjoy it. CJ, good to see you. I'm glad your house was ok and it's also great that you won't have to deal with leaky faucets or any of those other nerve wracking problems we have as homeowners I've had a very exercise full day. I must have gone up and down the stairs at least 20 times so far and probably more. I can only carry so much at a time in each trip.I'm packing up more things to take to dd's house for the great grandchildren and their parents, things to send to Indiana and things to donate.I also got out the box of good dishes that I've pretty much had stored in the storage area of the house for at least 25 years. I've had them for 50 years and time has come to actually use them instead of saving and saving for what I have no clue. I would give them to my dd except that her mother in laws really good china and crystal went to them when she died and ended up all broken up. I can use it myself in the few years I have left and if it gets broken well it doesn't matter much. It's too heavy to send to ds and ddil. I have another set of nice dishes that I'm going to give to dd because although beautiful china it's not real expensive set. Not that you all probably wanted to know all that . So Sillyme, don't worry about rambling. I do it a lot and Ginny has said at times that she's rambling.

Today must have been a busy day for all of us. I made a couple more meals for today and the next couple days and another apple pie. Haven't done any crocheting yet today but I will. I did work on my current afghan some last night.
I hope some stop in later

Hey wait a minute!! I can ramble endlessly and make absolutely no sense. š
Sillyme, congrats on the weight loss!!!Itās an interesting journey, and as my doctor once said, āthe body loses weight at its own paceā. Some weeks the weight seems to fall off and others the scale does not seem to budge. It sounds as though you are doing well, loggin in all of your ābites, licks and tastesā. WW is a great program and I wish you all the best with it. Nice plan for getting some walking in- getting those steps in at the office building. Gardening is good too- perhaps the rain will hold off enough to allow you to get the garden beds cleaned up.
CJ- can you shut off the water main to the house then you do not have to be concerned about the leaky faucets? Do you have an estimated date for the transfer of the house? Awesome that you ordered a few quilt kitsā¦then you are assured that the company has provided fabrics that work well together ! Have fun with those kitsā¦.I know you will also enjoy working on the rainbow scrap challenge and the blockhead block.
Ruth, sure sounds like you have been busy!! Itās a good idea not to carry too much going up or down the stairs. Better to make an extra trip up or down the stairs, instead of carrying too much and getting hurt. A nice idea to actually use the good dishes, you and Dh might as well enjoy them! Not sure how much the younger generations have for nice dishes, although I have made sure my DDās both got dishes from their grandmothers.Glad you did get some crocheting time in.!! Mary Maxim had a good sale (think it was free shipping) and of course, I thought of you.
Worked today, and had a doctors appointment and then rehearsal today was sort of stretched out..so it was rather long. Itās raining here, and should be raining overnight. Yes, I did get some crochet in last night, but am doubtful that I will tonight. A friend is going to send me her favorite method to make multiple HSTs and I am looking forward to getting my hands on that. Also looking forward to getting my machine back from being serviced!

Yes it's definitely risky to try to carry a lot when going either up or down stairs.
CJ, I can relate to the ordering of kits. I ordered one recently from MM...not the sale that just ended up the one before..and I haven't even looked at it yet. So now, besides the ridiculous yarn stash I also have three kits waiting their turn. I couldn't resist because it was a good price and free shipping because it was over whatever the minimum for that sale was. I do have some yarn in my cart but I haven't received a ship free email. I wonder if they're cancelling that.I need more of the two colors I'm using for my current afghan project.A.couple months of this year are over already so I should start now and try to get some blankets that I did several and many years ago that mostly only need borders. Maybe one a month should be my goal.Tomorrow's plan is to get into the craft room and straighten it up some. I've just been tossing things in there and they need to be organized. I also have to take all the bags of things to be donated out to my truck to add them to the rest of the donate stuff that has been in the truck a couple months.
Ginny, it sounds like you had a busy day once again.
CJ, enjoy those kits,
Sillyme, I hope it's continuing to be fairly easy to stay on plan. I'd been losing then gaining for a whole lot of years until I finally made it to where I wanted to be and thankfully as I mentioned, have been able to maintain which had never happened before. Funny or maybe sad story. Over 30 years ago I had a health ins plan thru work and they offered a weight loss group. At the first meeting she told us not to try to lose that week (or it might have been 2 weeks until the next meeting) but to write down everything we ate. Well during that time I managed to gain 20 lbs.So by the time the group ended I lost 20 but was not at all ahead because there I was..at the same weight I was at that first meeting

It's funny I tried all of the fad diets out there. Jenny Craig etc... I ate once a day and wondered why I was losing and gaining. I am eating healthy for once. I am feeling so much better. I got so hungry last night for a late night snack I had carrots and celery. I would eat candy etc . It's suppose to be nice today I am going to have a great time with machete of weeds. Cleaning out the garden bed. I should earn a few points for that. I came up with a decent swatch of tunsion crochet. Happy Thursday everyone

I've tried all the the diets too over the years. The only ones I didn't try were Jenny Craig and Nutrisytem. I can't even begin to remember all of them but I do remember the Rice Diet and the Egg diet. And there was one that required you to go to their office every day.I think that one was one that pushed their vitamins on you. Low carb, Low fat.
I'm glad that Tunisian is working for you. There are some really nice things made with it.And I don't know if WW still gives activity points but they did give them for gardening. It's almost impossible to have a garden here. We used to plant a small garden mainly with tomatoes and the last few years we planted tomato plants in large pots but we have extreme dryness here and have to water at least once a day and sometimes more. The cost for using all that water was more than good tomatoes cost at the stores.Plus we have a lot of deer here that love tomato plants and everything else people plant.
It's fairly cold here today.

Ruth you should have told me! I had a MM free shipping coupon in my email last week!
Silly me- glad you are finding WW so good to follow. Itās real food and you can eat anything you want as long as you measure and count the points. Congrats on getting some gardening done. When you are done at your house, mine needs some help!!
CJ- have you been able to quilt today?
Babysitting today. I have absolutely no right buying any additional craft supplies and have to finish some projects I already have. My friend sent me her favorite procedure for making many HSTs at a time which I will print out and follow . It looks similar to a YouTube I viewed.
