there are still lots of people who can't get prescriptions from their primary care providers and maybe can't switch providers for other reasons. Clinic also provide consultations with dieticians, and they do all the work to find pharmacies that have the meds in stock. In the last day or so, it was announced that Costco is going to start offering in-store weight loss clinics with doctors and nurse practitioners who will prescribe the weight loss drugs. Obviously there will be a tie-in to their own pharmacy. So many people already go to Costco for their vision exams/glasses and hearing exams/hearing aids. This is a short step for Costco.

It seems like WW might want to think more about retaining their non-med members since the GLP-1 prescription market is going to be pretty full with competition. I have already seen WW Clinic members disappointed that they don't see points, only the specific macros on WW's GLP-1 plan. They have gotten around this by logging in through the website to see their points, but WW is taking that away on 4/30.

There seems to be a lot of online companies popping up for weight loss meds; I'm sure that's hurting WW's purchase of Sequence. WW thought they'd be the leaders, but that didn't happen. It may be nice that WW has a program on the app for those people; but a lot of the other companies out there may have that as well. I do know that anyone that I know who is getting it through their own doctors - the doctor is providing them with a food program to follow and mentions a few free apps they can use if they choose to track or need it.
So WW isn't offering anything more than anyone else.

I saw someone on I think Reddit the other day who wasn't taking weight loss medication but wanted the weight loss program that just makes sure you meeting nutritional needs. That is, people not on meds, need to count points on WW because that is what leads to the calorie deficit. We all know that here (and that the problem with WW is the zero point foods distorts the calorie intake). For people on weight loss meds, they don't so much need to count points since the calorie deficit comes from eating less food due to the medication. What is important for them is to make sure they are eating enough nutritious foods. Two totally separate problems and I understand why WW has the tracking different for each.

(snipped by me for length) jammytart, They could maybe bring by the website. I have the grandfathered eTools but I am giving them up. I don't follow WW right now and I am tired of paying $14.95 a month for nothing which is even more nothing with this change. I assume you may still be able to look up stuff on the website but can't enter data. This is just a last straw for me. I am honestly very pessimistic about WW surviving. WW will not survive the current leadership. No company that Sima has had executive roles in is thriving as far as I know. Houseparty (closed down). Yahoo, Tumblr., Rogue Paper (a start up), Plum TV (closed down). Soon WW will be added to that list. Several countries have lost workshops and are app only, and some countries only have virtual..

Today on Connect, @wwapp.updates teased "we have something new coming soon... Who's excited?!" along with a screen shot of the app screen with a little text box with a red dot in the top right corner.
Several people think it's private messaging, because there have been some tests being done in certain locations of this option.
As you can imagine, the comments to the post are interesting.
