Good Morning, Challengers Yesterday I did all 6 of my main HHs, ate in my 💚 zone of pts. I had 3 meals, 0 snack, used 21 pts. We hiked .7 miles and walked 1.1 miles, so 1.8 miles for the day. My “KISS” HHs (Keep it Simple and Specific) yesterday: - Do at least 10 mins of PT/ST: N - Avoid salted snacks: 💚 - No “seconds” with snack: 💚 - No eating out of a container: 💚 - Limit phone after 9 pm: 💚 - Evening: “Snack on Inspo”; Read prayers, quotes, whys and goals: 💚 - FFFE (Food-Free Fasting Evenings): 💚 - JGTB (Just Go To Bed) around 10 - 11 pm: 💚 We finally hiked up the mountain on the other side of the road. We’ve been thinking of it for almost 20 yrs, as long as we’ve been here. No one seems to know who owns the property, and it’s not posted, and the lines between National Forest and private property aren’t clear, but we think the beginning of the path is on our property. It was very steep and mostly we were just following animal paths. Then we made it back down to the road and finished our usual walking route. The .7 mi hiking part took over an hour, but I got 4 activity pts for it. I only get 1 activity pt for our regular 2+ mile walk. We had a 200 ft elevation gain on our hike. In the pic you can see the burned area in the distance where our cabin is. Yet just a short way up the road it’s pretty much untouched by the fires. We found some old evidence from the mining days. This was a gold rush community. Be well, and take care, for ourselves and for each other. Cait

Good Morning!!!
I had a nice weekend. Saturday was a high point day with a quesadilla and margarita for lunch and Birthday party with pizza and ice cream cake at the Birthday party. She did have salad and veggies so I only had a few chips.
I finished mowing the back yard yesterday. I did not get the home office cleaning as I decided to do a deep cleaning of the Cat room.
I added 7.45 miles Friday- Sun. Friday= 2 mile WATP, Saturday= WATP and cleaning 2.59, and yesterday 2.86 miles walking and mowing.
Cait: WTG on your good days. Beautiful picture.
Carol: Good job on your swimming laps and stretching.
Waving to all!! Happy walking!!

MONDAY, MONDAY!
CAIT -- your walk/hike sounds like a nice little adventure! Thanks for the photo!
KELLY -- that Saturday sounds like a tempting challenge! Fred wanted pizza Friday, so we tried to order a Margherita (tomato, basil, Mozerella on a thin crust) from our local joint. She said they no longer have it on their menu (!), so we ended up with a veggie pizza. That's fine, but I am sure they use more cheese. Guess what my summer project will be??? I'm pretty sure I can find a good thin crust recipe and we can make our own Margherita with our garden tomatoes & basil.
I did some yard/garden work this weekend, and I went to water class today and stretched. Oh! Shocking! I received a message from my cardiologist asking if my shortness of breath was improving after stopping the Brilinta! Thankfully, I feel I am making some progress, slowly, but I am surprised his nurse reached out (and she signed his name, too).

Good Afternoon, Challengers
Yesterday I did all 6 of my main HHs, ate in my 💚 zone of pts. I had 3 meals, 0 snack, used 23 pts. We walked 2.2 mi after breakfast.
My “KISS” HHs (Keep it Simple and Specific) yesterday: - Do at least 10 mins of PT/ST: N - Avoid salted snacks: 💚 - No “seconds” with snack: 💚 - No eating out of a container: 💚 - Limit phone after 9 pm: 💚 - Evening: “Snack on Inspo”; Read prayers, quotes, whys and goals: 💚 - FFFE (Food-Free Fasting Evenings): 💚 - JGTB (Just Go To Bed) around 10 - 11 pm: 💚
We’ve seen one osprey so far, and several robins. The stellars jays are making themselves known, and we’re seeing warblers.
The eclipse here was about 26%. Only noticed a little shade.
KELLY - GFY with the 7.45 mi Fri - Sun, mowing and and doing a deep cleaning. It’s nice you can attend so many family, church and friend events. As I have come to realize, my problems weren’t a result of the occasional high pt event - the problem was the snacks I ate consistently!
CAROL - That will be fun - looking forward to your homegrown and homemade Margherita pizza! I’m sure you can make it way healthier and tastier with fresh ingredients and a variety of spices. They just slather on high sodium and high fat ingredients because it keeps people coming back. It’s like a food bludgeon instead of artisan cuisine. That’s great that the cardiologist’s nurse followed up!
Be well, and take care, for ourselves and for each other.

Carol: Good job on your water class and stretching. Glad the cardiologist did reach out to you. Glad you got a start on the outside work. Homemade is always best.
Cait: WTG on your good day. So awesome you get to take in all the beauty during your walks.

The contractor and his helper have started on the new outdoor stairs to replace the burned ones, and started on replacing windows were cracked from the heat of the fire.

TUESDAY!
KELLY -- WTG with walking & WATP. We had 80% totality, which was fun. Luckily, our neighbors had some glasses so we all took turns. In 2017 we were in the path of totality, which led to a lot of big events, tourists, traffic jams, and so on. That was so fun!
CAIT -- sounds like the workers are making good headway with your rebuilding projects! Good work with your HHs, as usual. How fun to see the osprey and other birds.
Have I mentioned that one of our fish is as round as a (little) beach ball? Soon we hope to see some "canoodling," leading to another couple of baby fish that will survive; I think most become food for the bigger fish and the odd frog that happens by. All the fish overwintered, including the two most recent pond births, so that's encouraging. I think some of the current fish have been with us about 6 years! We currently have 11, and 6 are "natives," or born in the pond.
I swam laps today and stretched.

Good Morning!!
I added 2.40 miles yesterday (WATP and walk at lunch)
Off today but have to get on a work meeting at 6:45 am. Then I have to take Olaf 1 of the adult cats for his check-up.
Cait: Good job on your HHs and miles.
I am sure it is a relief that everything is getting back to normal from the fire.
Carol: Good job on your swimming and stretching. Sounds like your pond is thriving.
Waving to all!! Happy Walking!!

THURSDAY!
Sounds like you're doing well! KELLY -- paws crossed that Olaf 1 gets a good report! CAIT -- PT/ST? ahem.
It didn't get extra dark with the eclipse, but it did get noticeably cooler. I couldn't get my "colander viewer" to work, but the leaf shadows were crescent-like.
I went to water class yesterday and stretched. I will probably walk later today; if so, I'll come back and edit.

Very pleasant. But tomorrow and through the weekend may be rainy and colder. On our walk we saw our first “Cat’s Ear” of the year. It’s one of my fave wildflowers. This am we went to town for groceries and a few errands. It was a beautiful day for the drive. There are so many poppies out on the hillsides. It’s beautiful. TGIFRIDAY! KELLY -- I really enjoy walking/being outside, too. Good job with your walks, and I'm glad you'll be able to take some time for yourself this weekend, even if you have a project to get to. CAIT -- I spend an inordinate amount of time on our patio! Incidentally, the former homeowner stopped by with the blueprints to our house, so now we know it's a "terrace," not a "patio." Ha ha. Good work with your HHs and walks. Enjoy the spring! I walked to the dollar store and back yesterday, and then in the evening I walked to one of my bookgroups, so I'm counting 2.5 miles for that. I'm going to swim laps later this morning, so I'll count that and stretching. Have a good weekend, all! 21.5/250 miles 9/75 stretching Stretching: 2018:141; 2019:192; 2020:182; 2021:190; 2022:195; 2023:191 Jan:19; Feb:13; Mar:19; Apr: 9/30

Good Morning, Challengers
Yesterday I did all 6 of my main HHs, ate in my 💛 zone of pts. I had 3 meals, 1 snack, used 37 pts. I walked .4 mi - part in town to the bank, and part at home bringing in the trash can, plus some extra steps.
My “KISS” HHs (Keep it Simple and Specific) yesterday: - Do at least 10 mins of PT/ST: N - Avoid salted snacks: N - No “seconds” with snack: 💚 - No eating out of a container: 💚 - Limit phone after 9 pm: 💚 - Evening: “Snack on Inspo”; Read prayers, quotes, whys and goals: N - FFFE (Food-Free Fasting Evenings): N - JGTB (Just Go To Bed) around 10 - 11 pm: 💚
Got some nice deck time with DH after late lunch yesterday afternoon, before getting some work done. I finished a good “Nordic Noir” genre mystery by Jorn Lier Horst, one in a series. This author is new to me although I’ve read a lot of “Nordic Noir” books. I really liked it and will read more of his. I got engrossed. Now I’m engrossed again in a mystery by JA Jance. I’ve read lots of hers and I work up before 5 am, couldn’t get back to sleep and started reading. Gotta be careful of compulsive reading - another old “excess” habit. 🤷🏻♀️
Be well, and take care, for ourselves and for each other.

Good Morning, Challengers Yesterday I did all 6 of my main HHs, ate in my 💚 zone of pts. I had 3 meals, 0 snack, used 24 pts. We walked 2.3 mi before breakfast. My “KISS” HHs (Keep it Simple and Specific) yesterday: - Do at least 10 mins of PT/ST: N - Avoid salted snacks: 💚 - No “seconds” with snack: 💚 - No eating out of a container: 💚 - Limit phone after 9 pm: 💚 - Evening: “Snack on Inspo”; Read prayers, quotes, whys and goals: 💚 - FFFE (Food-Free Fasting Evenings): 💚 - JGTB (Just Go To Bed) around 10 - 11 pm: 💚 The outdoor stairs are finished except for the stain. The contractor says he hopes to get the rest done next week - woodshed, stain on woodshed and stairs, and windows replacement. The workers replacing wooden power poles with steel ones are back and we’re working right below our driveway and up the mountain across the street from us, where we hiked last week. Not sure if they’ll replace our partially burned pole or not, but we’ll see. It was cooler yesterday so no deck time. I didn’t feel like working after lunch, just wanted to get back to my mystery binge reading, but I said “Just do 15 mins of ___ and then 15 mins of ___,” and I ended up getting momentum and got quite a bit done up until dinner 😃. This am I attended my weekly virtual WW workshop - “Going out to eat? Try these stay-on-track tips.” www.weightwatchers.com/us/m/cms/article/going-out-eat-try-these-stay-track-tips-2024Saw this today and it really clicks for me: Be well, and take care, for ourselves and for each other.
