MONDAY, MONDAY!
CAIT -- how nice that the rebuilding is progressing; hope it continues to go well. Good job with your HHs!
KELLY -- Yay for a 3-day weekend! WTG with walking and mowing. Our yard is so tiny that I can't even count mowing as exercise!
I enjoy a good mystery, too! I'm working on the Sara Paretsky series featuring V. I. Warshawski (female P.I.). I enjoy the Chicago descriptions, but the stories are following a predictable pattern, so I'm taking a break. I'll look into the ones you mentioned, CAIT. I see J.A. Jance write 3 series -- which do you suggest?
Our this-week bookgroup is reading Wuthering Heights, and I am really struggling! I'm sure I read it "back in the day," but I can hardly force myself to finish a chapter a day! It will be interesting if others in the group have a similar reaction.
I mostly took the weekend off, but I went to water class and stretched today. Laps tomorrow.
23.5/250 miles 10/75 stretching Stretching: 2018:141; 2019:192; 2020:182; 2021:190; 2022:195; 2023:191 Jan:19; Feb:13; Mar:19; Apr: 10/30

CAROL - Of the JA Jance series I like theJP Beaumont, set in Seattle, and the Joanna Brady, set in Bisbee, AZ, best, and the Ali Reynolds, set in Sedona AZ a bit less but I enjoy them all. Maybe the Beaumont the best. I’ve read all the Sara Paretsky VI Warshawsky books and really like them! Also the Sue Grafton Kinsey Millhone Alphabet series. Re “Wuthering Heights” - I haven’t read it. I just finished the “Found in a Bookshop” book by Stephanie Butland, which is full of book recommendations, and “Wuthering Heights” and “Jane Eyre” and Anne Brontë’s “Agnes Grey” and “The Tenant of Wildfell Hall” were recommended. I’ve read that some consider “The Tenant of Wildfell Hall” to be the first feminist novel.

Good Morning!!
I added 3.29 miles yesterday( 2 mile WATP & 1.29 mile walk at lunch). Twisted my ankle on my walk yesterday on an uneven sidewalk. Pretty painful yesterday afternoon and evening. elevated and iced as I could while working and my 1 co- worker wrapped it with an ace. Hurts a little bit this morning. I kept it elevated overnight and reapplied the ace this morning.
Carol: Good job on your water class and stretching. Wuthering Heights I vaguely remember that. I do like to go back read some of the older titles.
Cait: Good job on your consistency. Walking in Springtime is one of my favorites. Getting to see the new life sprout is beautiful.
Waving to all!! Happy walking!!

Good Evening, Challengers
Yesterday I did all 6 of my main HHs, ate in my 💚 zone of pts. I had 3 meals, 0 snack, used 22 pts. We walked 2.2 mi before breakfast.
My “KISS” HHs (Keep it Simple and Specific) yesterday: - Do at least 10 mins of PT/ST: N - Avoid salted snacks: 💚 - No “seconds” with snack: 💚 - No eating out of a container: 💚 - Limit phone after 9 pm: 💚 - Evening: “Snack on Inspo”; Read prayers, quotes, whys and goals: 💚 - FFFE (Food-Free Fasting Evenings): 💚 - JGTB (Just Go To Bed) around 10 - 11 pm: 💚
It’s been warm enough to eat on the deck for lunch and dinner. 😃
It was noisy here today with them removing and putting in windows. Next is the trim and then staining all window trim, stairs and woodshed. At some point the burned trees, especially the ones near the house, need to be removed, but we wanted to get this work done first. The trees are going to be a big expensive project.
Be well, and take care, for ourselves and for each other.

Good Morning!!
I added 3.11 miles(2 mile WATP& 1.11 mile at lunch) on Tuesday and 2.1 miles ( 1.71 walk and some light exercise) yesterday.
Went to get my eyes checked yesterday. Prescription actually got better but I may have closed angle glaucoma so will need to be referred to an ophthalmologist to be sure. She did not do any dilation as that could cause more issues. So will need to be evaluated first and then go back if dilation is approved. I was still able to order my new glasses.
My ankle is pain free now, although it did swell some yesterday but I was up on it most of the day.
I actually got most of my office done.
Cait: Good job on your good day. Glad everything continues to come together at your home. Yes tree removal is very costly.
Waving to all!! Happy walking!!

Good Morning, Challengers
Yesterday Wed I did all 6 of my main HHs, ate in my 💚 zone of pts. I had 3 meals, 0 snack, used 16 pts. We walked 2.3 mi before breakfast and I got in .2 mi taking out the trash and walking a little extra, so 2.5 mi for the day.
Tuesday was the same except I used 19 pts and had 2.2 mi for the walk.
My “KISS” HHs (Keep it Simple and Specific) both days: - Do at least 10 mins of PT/ST: N - Avoid salted snacks: 💚 - No “seconds” with snack: 💚 - No eating out of a container: 💚 - Limit phone after 9 pm: 💚 - Evening: “Snack on Inspo”; Read prayers, quotes, whys and goals: 💚 - FFFE (Food-Free Fasting Evenings): 💚 - JGTB (Just Go To Bed) around 10 - 11 pm: 💚
We’ve been sitting out for lunch and dinner on the deck 😃.
It’s been noisy here with removing and putting in windows and replacing trim. The smell of the caulk, etc. has been bad, but we opened the windows and it’s much better now.
The power company is replacing wood poles with steel ones in a 3 - 4 mile stretch including us. They’re shutting off our electric for a month and bringing in a generator for us today. It’ll be noisy. We’re the only ones affected in this stretch since the wildfire destroyed the other homes.
Today we went to town for my DMV license renewal appt and picked up some groceries. I had forgotten I needed to renew and it had expired. But I completed the online “e-learning” course from home, and today they just needed to do the vision test and take a new photo.
Be well, and take care, for ourselves and for each other.

Good Afternoon Challengers
Yesterday Thurs I did all 6 of my main HHs, ate in my 💚 zone of pts. I had 3 meals, 0 snack, used 17 pts.
The generator is really noisy. We tried eating lunch on the deck but it wasn’t very pleasant. We had dinner inside. Now we’ve moved the table to the other end of the deck and we’ll try again later today. But now we have helicopters bringing in power poles flying back and forth over our house. 🤷🏻♀️
Last night the power went out in the middle of dinner when DH started to heat something up in the microwave - the generator was running, but power was out. We called and about 2-3 hours later a guy came out and got the power back on. He said the breaker on the generator had gone off. The guy said he thinks we need a bigger generator. Then this am, when DH turned on the heat, the generator completely stopped running and power went out. So I called and 2-3 hrs later a guy came and got the generator restarted. Then he left and it konked out again. Then DH got it started again. I had an online work video appt scheduled, and I was preparing to go to the community hall to use the wifi there, but I was able to do it from our home office. Whew! We just have to not use much power. No heat, minimal lights, no microwave. Even the stovetop seems risky. The guy is supposed to come back later with a more powerful generator.
Be well, and take care, for ourselves and for each other.

Good Morning, Challengers Yesterday Fri I did all 6 of my main HHs, ate in my 💚 zone of pts. I had 3 meals, 0 snack, used 24 pts. I walked 2.1 mi in the afternoon. My “KISS” HHs (Keep it Simple and Specific) yesterday: - Do at least 10 mins of PT/ST: N - Avoid salted snacks: 💚 - No “seconds” with snack: 💚 - No eating out of a container: 💚 - Limit phone after 9 pm: 💚 - Evening: “Snack on Inspo”; Read prayers, quotes, whys and goals: 💚 - FFFE (Food-Free Fasting Evenings): 💚 - JGTB (Just Go To Bed) around 10 - 11 pm: 💚 Our contractor drove all the way out here only to find we had no power, a 2 hr round trip for him 😟. Yesterday morning was stressful but the new larger generator is here and working well. It’s quieter, and they put it in a spot farther from our deck. And we moved our outdoor table to the far end of the deck. We were able to sit outside before dinner, have a relaxing dinner out there (Friday, wine day🍷) and sit out after dinner for a while. The swallows are here and swooping around just off the deck and below the bridge 😃. They are so fun to watch! We couldn’t walk in the am, waiting for the generator to be replaced, and in the afternoon I was still discombobulated from the worries in the am, and work stuff. It’s really hard for DH to walk later in the day due to his feet neuropathy. So he “let” me walk by myself 😃. It helped me clear my head and “reboot.” Yesterday DH finished replacing the burned carpet tiles on the deck. He’s been reading a doo-woo book I gave him a long time ago, and building a doo-wop playlist on our Spotify, and listening to oldies a lot. Yesterday he had on a “1958 Billboard Top 100” playlist and it was fun to listen to. Highlight of the evening was the original “Do you want to dance“ by Bobby Freeman. youtu.be/xVff7TJzc-Q?si=IuOAYyUh6OYk_yFGCAROL - GJ with the water class, stretching and lap swim. It’s too bad you aren’t enjoying the Wuthering Heights book. Are you going to finish it or just let it slide? KELLY - GFY with the 7.54 mi last weekend, 3.29 mi Mon, 3.11 mi Tues and 2.1 mi Wed, and getting your office cleanup mostly done. Glad the ankle thing didn’t turn out to be more serious. Yesterday in the am my dominant hand was a little swollen and sore and I couldn’t do some things the usual way - I had leaned on it in a weird way in bed the night before. I was worried I had done some damage, but it got gradually better as the day went on, and today it’s almost back to normal. Whew! That’s great that your vision improved, and I hope the glaucoma concern doesn’t turn out to be a major issue and you can finish the eye exam. Be well, and take care, for ourselves and for each other. This am I attended my weekly virtual WW workshop: ”How to hack your Points budget.”www.weightwatchers.com/us/m/cms/hack-your-points-budgetThey suggest planning the week by first budgeting for the most important events and meals that may be the most points and/or most susceptible to overeating, and then filling in the rest of the week with lower points meals. “If you’ve ever made a reservation for a special dinner, blocked out time every week to watch your kid play soccer, or front-loaded work tasks so you can unplug on vacation, you know how much smoother things go when you plan ahead. The same goes for “reserving” Points for the foods and meals that matter most to you, then strategically budgeting what’s left.”
