SUNDAY!
Just reading your posts as we enjoy a beautiful day on the terrace. Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers; I appreciate it!
The procedure went well, at least as far as I can tell. The doctor discovered that one of the stents (in my LAD [the "widow-maker"]) is too small, so he inserted two others, one sticking out of each end of the first one, and enlarged them. I completely quit coughing immediately, and I'm able to keep up with Fred at the grocery store (he confessed that he dreaded my coming to the store with him before because I was so slow). It's amazing what some oxygen will do for a body!
I think I'll go for a walk tomorrow, but I can't soak my puncture until the end of the week, so no swimming for me for a few days.
Have a good week everyone!

Good Morning!!
I added 8.72 miles Fri- Sunday. Saturday was a high mile day as I took 3.09 mile walk and later the DH and I took a ride and stopped at one of the State Parks and I walked 1.21 miles on one of the trails.
Our home group was fun on Friday night. Sunday after Church I did take a walk but rested the remainder of the day.
Cait: Good job on your good days. Glad you have been enjoying your time with family. It is so sad when the time ends.
Carol: Glad you are doing well after your procedure.
Waving to all!! Happy Walking!!

Good Morning, Challengers
Yesterday Sun I did 2/6 of my main HHs, ate in my 🧡 zone of pts. I had 3 meals, 1 snack, used 47 pts. We walked 2.2 mi with the family after breakfast.
My “KISS” HHs (Keep it Simple and Specific) yesterday: - Do at least 10 mins of PT/ST: N - Avoid salted snacks: N - No “seconds” with snack: N - No eating out of a container: 💚 - Limit phone after 9 pm: N - Evening: “Snack on Inspo”; Read prayers, quotes, whys and goals: N - FFFE (Food-Free Fasting Evenings): N - JGTB (Just Go To Bed) around 10 - 11 pm: 💚
Yesterday we saw a kayak go by below us and DSIL grabbed the girls and drove farther downriver to see it go through the rapids. It turned out it was a group of 3 rafts - a catamaran with a couple and two kids, and two solo kayaks.
Last night I was tired after a poor night’s sleep, and got obsessed with my book, and gave in to snack on chips after dinner. I did weigh, measure and track, which helped me stop. Fortunately there weren’t any cookies here, except the DGDs’ little packages, or it could have been worse. Instead I ate grapes. And then JGTB saved me. 🙏🧡
CAROL - Wow! I’m so glad you pushed the Drs a bit Re your breathing problems, and glad you’re seeing the difference so quickly! GFY planning to walk.
KELLY - GJ with the 8.72 mi Fri-Sun. How nice you could walk in the state park!
Be well, and take care, for ourselves and for each other.

MONDAY, MONDAY!
KELLY -- sounds like a great weekend, with fellowship, walking, and relaxing. Nice!
CAIT -- so fun to watch all your river traffic, and to be able to share it with the grandchildren. You'll bounce back to your HHs in no time!
Yes, I'm glad I mentioned my breathing issues to the doctor (I really didn't need to push him). I remember my parents being reluctant to mention problems to doctors, and I don't want to go down that road! I think my doctor knew right away it was a heart problem and not a lung problem, and he was right! Even when I was just coming off the Brilinta, he mentioned that it could be something else.
I walked today, taking the same route as the last two times. I was a little faster, but the important point to me is that I didn't need to stop. I consider that a win! I also got down and stretched.
Have a good week, everyone!

Good Morning, Challengers
Yesterday Mon I did all 6 of my main HHs, ate in my 💚 zone of pts. I had 3 meals, 0 snack, used 21 pts. We walked 2.2 mi before breakfast.
My “KISS” HHs (Keep it Simple and Specific) yesterday: - Do at least 10 mins of PT/ST: N - Avoid salted snacks: 💚 - No “seconds” with snack: 💚 - No eating out of a container: 💚 - Limit phone after 9 pm: 💚 - Evening: “Snack on Inspo”; Read prayers, quotes, whys and goals: 💚 - FFFE (Food-Free Fasting Evenings): 💚 - JGTB (Just Go To Bed) around 10 - 11 pm: 💚
Yesterday we all went to the valley to a brew pub we’ve been going to for over 20 years. It was the first place we ate when we were checking out the whole northern CA area to decide where to move. We shared a Brussels sprouts appetizer with balsamic glaze, and I had a salad with chickpeas and quinoa, and a half pint of their amber ale. I had a high fiber low pts dinner.
CAROL - That’s great that your Dr was “on the lookout” for complications. Whew! Complications resolved. And so glad you’re back to walking the hill without breathing difficulty. And GFY doing your stretching. Yes, learning my “lesson” by noticing how this all works, and that I don’t feel good after going off, helps me get right back to my HHs.
KELLY - GJ with the 2 walks and 2.92 mi.
Be well, and take care, for ourselves and for each other.

Yesterday DH and DSIL did brush clearance. We girls played Uno, hing out on the deck, and worked on the last jigsaw puzzle. Had a great time talking with DGD2 😍. She’ll be 9 at the end of this month and she’s very curious and likes to help with anything I’m doing. And she loves fruit and vegs!

Good Morning!!
I added 5.18 miles of outdoor walks.
Yesterday, I was busy on my day off. I did some grocery shopping, walking, reading on the deck, laundry, put together a cabinet for litter boxes in the cat room, went to Bible study, and finally put together a new chair and ottoman I bought for the living room.
We have been having nice weather mid 50s overnight and 70's during the day. Looks like the warmer weather will be back today through the next week( mid 80s-90s) After all the rain we had in the Spring it has been very dry.
Saturday we will be going to my BIL's 75th Birthday party.
Cait: Good job on meeting your HHs. I love Brussels Sprouts. Sounds like a fun time with the family.
Waving to all!! Happy Walking!!

Good Morning, Dimers
Yesterday Thurs I did 4/6 of my main HHs, ate in my 💚 zone of pts. I had 3 meals, 1 snack, used 20 pts. We walked 2.2 mi before breakfast.

Yesterday DH and I met with the CalFire rep and the timber operator who is going to take down our burned trees that endanger the cabin. We learned more than we want to know about the various permits and exemptions and their restrictions if we want to sell or give away the trees. We don’t want to deal with all that. It would take time to get approvals and wouldn’t bring in much money anyway after the costs. We’re planning to just keep it and save for firewood.
The family went down to the river several times fishing. In the early evening they watched the Stanley Cup hockey game Edmonton vs Florida. Nice day. Nice evening on the deck. I fell asleep outside in my rocker glider again 😴🥱.
KELLY - GFY with the 5.18 mi and busy productive day. I love my rocker glider with ottoman. DH prefers recliners.
Be well, and take care, for ourselves and for each other.

TGIFRIDAY!
KELLY -- Excellent job on your walking and your productive day off!
CAIT -- How nice to be able to snooze outside on your glider! Fred wouldn't let me get a hammock years ago because he said he'd never get out of it! We didn't get a chaise lounge for the terrace for the same reason! Good work getting back to your HHs!
I just messed around the house most of this week, getting ready to host a get-together on Thursday. It was a small group (6 out of a possible 11), so that was nice. It was so hot here that we had our dessert inside. It was fun, but planning and executing these gatherings seem to take me an inordinate length of time.
Last night I was going to walk to the neighborhood pool for water class, but just as I was leaving I heard thunder. I'm okay with rain, but not lightning! I just stayed home. Today, though, I bandaged up and went to the morning water class. I wasn't feeling the greatest, so I'm hoping it was just because I hadn't been exercising for a week (except one walk).
One day at a time! I guess I do need to go to cardiac rehab again.

Good Afternoon, Challengers Yesterday Fri I did all 6 of my main HHs, ate in my 💚 zone of pts. I had 3 meals, 1 snack, used 23 pts. We walked 2.2 mi before breakfast. After breakfast I did a “stretching class” led by DGD2 for 38 mins 🥳. My “KISS” HHs (Keep it Simple and Specific) yesterday: - Do at least 10 mins of PT/ST: 💚 - Avoid salted snacks: 💚 - No “seconds” with snack: 💚 - No eating out of a container: 💚 - Limit phone after 9 pm: 💚 - Evening: “Snack on Inspo”; Read prayers, quotes, whys and goals: 💚 - FFFE (Food-Free Fasting Evenings): 💚 - JGTB (Just Go To Bed) around 10 - 11 pm: 💚 Yesterday we had our last day with DD2 and family. DSIL and DGD1 were down at the river a lot. DSIL and DD1 were prepping to leave and loading the car. DGD2 had things she wanted to do with me. As my personal trainer and teacher, she wanted to lead me in a stretching “class,” and also an “art class.” We did the stretching class for 38 mins. She was so serious, and just adorable. She says she’s going to call me to lead me in stretching class this coming week. We didn’t get around to the art class. In the evening DSIL played marbles with the DGDs on the deck. After the wildfire, when DH replaced the outdoor carpet tiles, he also made and installed molding all around the deck, so marbles and toys wouldn’t be at risk of going off and down the hill. It worked great! This am after the family left, DH and I walked. It helped with the “letdown.” After breakfast I attended part of a weekly WW virtual workshop with my regular coach, and then attended another one to get the whole experience and keep my head in the game. The topic was “3 steps to overcome a setback.”“Whether you’ve gained weight, gone over your weekly Points® Budget, or had any other setback, ~ Step one is to remind yourself that it's a normal part of the journey. ~ Step two: Set your action plan into motion. Don’t have one? Let’s fix that. . . .
When you’re in a cool, calm, and on-track state, it’s easier to create a simple game plan you’ll actually stick with. Compare that to a heat-of-the-moment response where you might try to overcorrect, only to get frustrated when you can’t build 10 new habits in a week. Or, you may swing to the other extreme and want to give up.
Remember, setbacks happen to everyone. What matters is how you react. Deciding ahead of time which routines you’ll lean in to—because you know they work and play to your strengths—helps ensure bumps in the road are just that and not the end of your journey.”www.weightwatchers.com/us/m/cms/3-steps-overcome-setbackCAROL - Glad you’re taking it slowly re exercise, and glad you felt up to going to water class this am. Hope the tiredness is just a part of the post-procedure recovery process. I also notice prepping for company is more time consuming than I expect, and always a little stressful. And then there’s the cleanup afterwards….. Be well, and take care, for ourselves and for each other. Cait

Good Morning, Dimers and happy Fathers Day wishes to Leroy and all the fathers in our families
Yesterday Sat I did all 6 of my main HHs, ate in my 💚 zone of pts. I had 3 meals, 0 snack, used 25 pts. We walked 2.1 mi before breakfast.
Yesterday was “letting go” day - letting go of the excitement, busy-ness, and sound all around us, as we got back to being on our own again after 2 weeks. It was of course a little sad, but also busy. The quiet was weird. DH went into major cleanup mode, vacuuming and cleaning the much-used upstairs bathroom. I did a little at a time. DH did 6 loads of wash - sheets, towels, etc. I do the folding. We put the office back to normal. I dozed some on the deck in the afternoon and evening and finished another book. Last night back in our bedroom, I got almost 8 hrs sleep - while they were here we slept on the sofa bed in the downstairs office and there are French doors that let in lots of light so I was only getting 6 hrs most nights.
Be well, and take care, for ourselves and for each other.

Good Morning!!
Friday I slept a little later so did not post as I wanted to get a walk in before work.
I added 7.54 miles Thurs- Sun. Sat and Sun were shorter walks due to it being hotter. I should have done a WATP but was not in the mood for it.
The Birthday party was very nice. Thankfully they have a very large finished basement so everyone could stay cool. I went outside several times to actually warm up, lol.
Cait: good job on overall good days with your HHs. Sounds like a lovely time with family.
Carol: One step at a time. You will be back to yourself soon. Cardiac rehab may be a good idea.

Monday, Monday!
CAIT -- your stretching class sounds great! I'll bet it was super quiet after all the guests left and the chores got done. You earned that 8+ hours!
KELLY -- Good job walking, and especially walking before work. I hope it was pleasant enough that you could walk outside.
We went to the "Great American Comedy Festival" in the small town where Johnny Carson grew up. It was a lot of fun, except that there was a tornado just outside of town and a destructive rain storm. The show was delayed, and the rain washed out a few back roads that we wanted to take home Sunday, so we had to come straight back.
At least I was able to make it to the Sunday afternoon water class -- outside on a hot day! It was glorious! This morning I went to water class, and of course I stretched both times. Yes, I've decided to go back to cardiac rehab and make the most of it. I learned a HS pal of mine had a heart attack Saturday and died. Another reminder of just how lucky I was last year!

Good Evening, Challengers
Yesterday Sun I did all 6 of my main HHs, ate in my 💚 zone of pts. I had 3 meals, 0 snack, used 24 pts.
Sunday was a quiet day for us mostly just sitting on the deck enjoying the river and the birds. I made a veggie stuffed omelet for DH, and thanked him for his awesome stepfathering with my girls. He had a nice talk with his DD2, and got 2 texts and a FB post for Fathers Day. It was a bit chilly and overcast. Temp was 44 F in the am the past several days, getting up to high 60’s, low 70’s.
I just finished Marcia Miller’s “Circle in the Water,” and I’m now reading Sara Paretsky’s “Pay Dirt.” I’ve read almost all by these two authors.
KELLY - GFY with the 7.54 mi Thurs-Sun. I felt a little like you did at the bday party the past couple of days, wanting to get warm, but feeling a bit not-right for not appreciating the cool temps.
CAROL - I’m glad you enjoyed the Comedy Fest - laughter being the best medicine and all! GJ getting to the water classes and stretching. Sorry about your HS friend - wow, that really is a wake up call. I remember you were very motivated by the rehab classes. DH was reminiscing this am about all the people our age-ish who lived here when we moved here 20 yrs ago who have died or are in poor health.
Be well, and take care, for ourselves and for each other.
