Later she called while we were having dinner and said she had gotten SO busy 🤣. They had gone shopping. Today the timber operator is going to start on our job of removing 169 burned trees. Good Morning!!
I walked 2 miles Tuesday morning and yesterday morning I walked 3.01 miles and added another mile with some mowing. All done before it got too hot.
We went and got some Mexican for lunch. I read some and then watched a movie. Relaxing afternoon.
Then we went to Bible study.
I work today then I am off til nest Thursday.
Cait: Good job on your HHs, miles and PT session. Wow, that is a lot of trees to take down. Seeing the picture really shows how fortunate you were not to lose the whole home.
Waving to all!! Happy Walking!!

This week has been busy for me for work, trying to catch up from the two weeks of family visit when I only did the minimum.
KELLY - GFY with the 2.24 mi Mon and 3.01 mi Tues before the heat. I’m sure you’ll enjoy your week off and niece’s graduation party. How nice you can help your great niece with her move and enjoy the family event. You’re so right about the cabin surviving. Everyone who sees it, even experienced firefighters, says the same thing. I keep reminding myself and DH how fortunate we are, in this and in so many ways.
Be well, and take care, for ourselves and for each other.

Good Morning, Challengers
Yesterday Thurs I did all 6 of my main HHs, ate in my 💚 zone of pts. I had 3 meals, 0 snack, used 21 pts. We walked 2.2 mi before breakfast.
My “KISS” HHs (Keep it Simple and Specific) yesterday: - Do at least 10 mins of PT/ST: N - Avoid salted snacks: 💚 - No “seconds” with snack: 💚 - No eating out of a container: 💚 - Limit phone after 9 pm: 💚 - Evening: “Snack on Inspo”; Read prayers, quotes, whys and goals: 💚 - FFFE (Food-Free Fasting Evenings): 💚 - JGTB (Just Go To Bed) around 10 - 11 pm: 💚
The timber operator started yesterday taking down smaller trees and limbing the biggest cedar close to the house. They found a fawn lying in the brush behind the woodshed, which explains why the doe was hanging around the house. This am the fawn was gone, so thank goodness she came back for it.
Yesterday the temps got back up in the low 90’s so we had dinner indoors. This am we’re off to town for groceries and hardware store.
CAROL - Hope all is well. Are you back to the cardiac rehab program?
Be well, and take care, for ourselves and for each other.

TGIFRIDAY! CAIT -- 169! That's a whole woods, just about! Yes, you were lucky that lovely cabin didn't burn! I can see why you enjoy spending time on that deck. KELLY -- Enjoy your week off! Sounds like you have some fun and some meaningful things planned. I hope you're leaving time for some rest, too! I went to water class Monday and Wednesday and stretched in the pool, too. Yesterday (Thursday) was my intake for my cardiac rehab sessions. I'm going to a different facility, and I think I'll like it. They limit the number of participants to 8 in each session, which will be a change. They are part of a huge "medical fitness" center and have several pools and gyms and classes and weights and suchlike. I think I'll go MWF mornings and then swim laps on Tuesdays. I'm going to try to swim a few laps on Fridays after my rehab, too. I may not be able to go as far or as long as I'd like, but it will fit my shampoo schedule! I swam laps today outdoors, which I love! It's hot here, and the water feels so refreshing! I only swam 3/4 of my regular routine, but I felt pretty okay with it. I stretched when I got home, too. Have a good weekend, everyone! 112/250 miles 52/75 stretching Stretching: 2018:141; 2019:192; 2020:182; 2021:190; 2022:195; 2023:191 Jan:19; Feb:13; Mar:19; Apr:19; May:21; June: 10/30

Good Morning, Challengers Yesterday Fri I did 5/6 of my main HHs, ate in my 💚 zone of pts. I had 3 meals, 0 snack, used 28 pts. No exercise - we went to town and later I just wasn’t willing. My “KISS” HHs (Keep it Simple and Specific) yesterday: - Do at least 10 mins of PT/ST: N - Avoid salted snacks: 💚 - No “seconds” with snack: 💚 - No eating out of a container: 💚 - Limit phone after 9 pm: 💚 - Evening: “Snack on Inspo”; Read prayers, quotes, whys and goals: 💚 - FFFE (Food-Free Fasting Evenings): 💚 - JGTB (Just Go To Bed) around 10 - 11 pm: 💚 Yesterday we did what we needed to do in town and by the time we got back and put the food away it was around 1 pm and we had lunch. The temp was too hot for DH to eat on the deck. It got up to 97. I got engrossed in my book, but I reluctantly stopped and got some work done - but not enough willingness left to do my PT or any other exercise. Today is 1 week since the family left. The river has dropped a lot. This am I attended my weekly WW virtual workshop: “The secret to keeping up (or breaking up) a habit.” About the “habit loop” and how it can serve us or hold us back. I love this topic. There’s always some new insight I get from listening to the shares and discussion and reading the articles. It’s basically the same practice as in my “Eat Right Now” app, and in the lessons from the “Unwinding Anxiety” book by Dr Judson Brewer which I’m reading for the second time. He now has a new book “The Hunger Habit: Why We Eat When We're Not Hungry and How to Stop,” which I’ll read eventually. Anyway, spoiler alert - the effective way to deal with our helpful and unhelpful habits is breaking them down to “Cue - Action - Reward.” ~ Cue: Reflect on what you were thinking, feeling, and what was/is going on re the “Cue/Trigger.” ~ Action: Then look at the Action/Reaction you’ve been taking. ~ Reward: Then identify the “Reward/Result” this action is giving you. How does that feel? Is it what you want? Here’s the full article: www.weightwatchers.com/us/m/cms/secret-to-keeping-or-breaking-habitCAROL - The new cardiac rehab program and different facility sound great! GFY with the lap swim and stretching. Glad it felt good and you didn’t push yourself too hard. Too cute about your shampoo schedule 😆. That’s just one of the many reasons I haven’t tried swimming for exercise. My hair is thin and fine and hard to manage, and I worry about the effects of chlorine, and blow drying it often. Then there’s the time driving to and from a pool, showering before and after, etc. I’m happy with my basic schedule. Be well, and take care, for ourselves and for each other. Cait

Temp ended up getting up to 97, but it’s been 57 or so in the am. Good for our walk 😃. I read this interesting article on potassium, which most Americans are deficient in. It stands to reason - mostly it’s in beans, fruits and vegs. People always think potassium means “eat a banana,” but many foods are richer in potassium than bananas. www.prevention.com/food-nutrition/a20466110/13-foods-that-have-more-potassium-than-a-banana/Be well, and take care, for ourselves and for each other. MONDAY, MONDAY!
CAIT -- good job on your HHs and getting back to your PT! Yes, swimming can be a schedule-killer, for sure. Luckily, I only shampoo my hair 2x/week, and if I use a dryer at all it's the wall kind at the gym, just so I can comb it and look halfway presentable (wet, but presentable). The only place I stop on my way home is sometimes the popcorn store, so the wet look is not a problem! ALSO -- as an extra bonus I don't need to wipe down the tile in the shower!
KELLY -- I believe you have some time off this week; have some fun!
Sunday I went to water class & stretched in the pool. I love swimming outdoors in the summer! Today I started rehab 2.0. It's a similar routine to last year's, but they don't do any band work or stretching or group education here. I came home after the facility tour and did bands and stretching on my own.

TUESDAY!
I got up early and went to the pool about 8:00 a.m. I swam 1000 yards, but I sure didn't set any speed records! I stretched in the pool, too.

Timber removal is slowly but surely moving forward. DH is making small pieces of wood from some of the cedar, to make a couple of small end tables for our deck. It’s pretty labor intensive work.
CAROL - GJ getting back into rehab mode, and your water class & stretching Sun, bands and stretching Mon, and lap swim and stretching Tues! Too cute about not having to wipe down the tiles 🤣. I get that!

Good Morning!!
I enjoyed my time off work. I added 14.50 miles which I am proud of since it was in the high 80's-90s.
Friday I helped my niece move and went swimming. I also helped her on Sunday put her clothing away and her youngest daughter. Saturday I went to another niece's graduation party. we did not take any day trips. Mostly a stay-cation with relaxation which I needed.
We did head to the Lancaster area for my free Birthday dinner at Shady Maple. I did not over do it. My favorite part is their huge gift shop.
Cait: Good job on overall good days meeting all your HHs, walking, and PT workout.
Glad the timber removal is coming along and DH is going to make some good use of trees.
Carol: You are doing great with your water classes, swimming laps, cardiac rehab, and stretching.
Waving to all!! Happy Walking!!
