debinprogress, Thanks for sharing. It was a reminder to me of how WW has gone downhill and will never be the same company again that assisted me in losing weight and maintaining my weight loss for years. Sad to see it go.

It's a sinking ship.....and she jumped out while she still had her head above the water!

I really hope that they’re able to turn this ship around, but it’s looking worse and worse for WW.

Very interesting. I wish WW would send out a survey to members asking what they love and dislike instead of making changes for members we didnt ask for. The app was better IMO before this CEO stepped in and I dont think the CEO understands us members. I want to join but Im using healthiapp now till I see if a new plan emerges in November. I also noticed Allison G who worked on the audio coaching and behavioral stuff was involved in WW layoffs December last year according to her instagram. Sad times, hope the WW we all love comes through.

I almost wish they would go back to the origins of the program and start over again...exchanges worked and so did the first points program. Some of the exchange programs worked better for me than others but no matter what people say...it is really about energy ingested balancing out energy expended no matter what formula of points or wording or plans are offered.
<sigh> I debate going BACK to either Exchanges or 123 Success/Winning Points BUT it is also not easy to return to them as the leniency of having as many fruits, vegetables, and other zero-point foods without counting them is hard to give up.
I have found that using the Healthi app...it doesn't matter which of the six options I use IF I stay within the suggested calorie guidelines...I think that exchanges was "healthier" because I made sure I got in the various food groups while when points started up...I tended to not have milk to save points for something else...hmm...

i agree with you! I achieved goal/lifetime status originally on the exchange/selection program in the early 90's. I have always found the points to be a bit gimmicky. I had little success with points until the pre-freestyle Smartpoints plan with zero point fruit and vegetables. I have been trying with little success on the current points programs with too many zero point foods. My weight bounces back and forth and I essentially maintain or gain. I switched to counting calories with a deficit (500-800 calories/day) on 5/24 and have lost every single week since then. My weekly rate averages to be about 1.67 pounds which is actually what I lost on the pre-freestyle Smartpoints program. That tells me that the current WW program is not as tied to calories as the older plans. I am not a conspiracy theorist type person, but it seems like WW doesn't want their members to have too much success on their program so they'll have to keep paying or rejoining. I've seen some responses to people who aren't losing. "Are you eating enough? Maybe eat MORE zero point foods! Give it time. You want to have a slow loss to be sustainable!" etc. I'm sorry, but when I have a lot of weight to lose, and my health is affected, I don't have time to play around with the magical zero point foods and hope the scale trends downward. "No one is here because they ate too much chicken, corn and beans." I can absolutely eat too much chicken, corn and beans. WW could provide an optional way for members to see their nutrition info/ calorie totals etc. just to make sure they aren't over or under eating, but they don't.

debinprogress, You got me thinking. I was tracking points and calories then stopped tracking. To get myself started again I've been tracking points and have been keeping it up, but I'm still gaining weight so maybe I need to go back to calorie counting to account for all of my zero-point foods.

bbbearsmom, it’s really working for me! I finally feel like I have some traction in this journey. I use MyNetDiary, and love the reporting features and feedback. Something else WW lacks. (Other than “nice job tracking!”)

debinprogress ,I also use MyNetDiary. I do have the premium version. I have given up entirely on points based tracking and don't think I will ever do it again. Calorie counting and tracking works for me. I do have some nutritional goals. I aim to keep my saturated fat average at no more than 8% of calories (I mostly look at this on a weekly basis as an average). Added sugar I aim for no more than 6% of calories on average. I want whole grains to be twice the amount of refined grains I eat. I have goals for how often to eat fish and legumes and fruits and vegetables and fiber goals. All of that works much better for me and I use MyNetDiary to see how I am doing on everything. I don't think that WW will survive. For most people with obesity or overweight BMI but another risky condition, medication is going to be the most effective weight loss method and that will reduce risks from chronic diseases (some people may need surgery instead). Yes, there are people who don't fit in those groups who will lose weight through lifestyle and diet but those people have never been big dollar members of WW. If you need to lose only 10 pounds you either don't need WW or you can join and reach goal much more quickly than the person who needs to lose 50+ pounds. Are their people who use diet and lifestyle to lose 50+ pounds. Sure. I used to see many in my meetings. Some were people who attended and paid for years and never got close to goal. Many were like me. Lost, got to goal, regained, lost again, got to goal, regained. Were there people who lost and got to goal and never regained? Sure, but not many. I just don't think the people are there for WW any more. And they have all that debt that will kill them.

I had to laugh.... I can eat one of those store bought rotisserie chickens all by myself! Corn on the cob? Keep them coming...
Some of us are just overweight because we overeat everything! We overeat, we eat unhealthy.... Giving zero point foods because they are "filling" foods mean nothing. We need more structure.
The quarterly meeting is this Thursday, so we should get a transcript after that. Sure hope there's some changes coming; but I'm beginning to think that WW put all their money into the weight loss drugs, so they want all of us on that!

Sure hope there's some changes coming; but I'm beginning to think that WW put all their money into the weight loss drugs, so they want all of us on that! Yes! Honestly, them marketing the zero point foods as a way to steer people towards healthier eating is a little bit offensive. Who doesn't know that chicken breasts and Greek yogurt are good for you? I ate eggs for breakfast every day when they had points, and I tracked them no problem. They were already lower point/high protein choices. The problem is I have three at a time, which was fine when they were 6 points. Not so much when they are zero. The same with chicken breast. My 4 oz portion probably cost me a little more than 3 oz, (I can't remember) but if it's zero, why does it matter? Truly not enough structure. People that have a higher TDEE will eat more than just the standard serving. There's no way to account for that for zero point foods. Here's hoping that the quarterly meeting provides something positive.
