Tuesday!
CAIT— I hope you can get together with your Dd1 and family😊
We leave tomorrow for our big trip, so I went to the pool and worked off some nervous energy, and I stretched, too. I know the “regulars” are on Facebook, so I hope I can post some photos.
I learned today that my niece has pancreatic cancer and some spread to her lymph nodes , so she will face chemo when she’s stronger.

Good Morning!!
I added 2.16 miles on Monday and 3 miles yesterday
DH's Cardio-version went well yesterday.
I went to see the Hematologist about the low WBC count he is not concerned since it has been like that since Dec 2020. Nothing else is off and I am not sick all the time. I do not need to see him again unless I would start to have repeated infections or fevers.
Cait: Awesome job with your Stats. Sounds like a nice time with DD2. I hope you get to see DD2 and DGDs before your trip North. How long are you staying up North?
Carol: Enjoy your trip. Good job getting to the pool. Sorry to hear about your niece. Sending prayers.
Waving to all!! Happy Walking!!

Good Morning, Challengers
Yesterday Tues I did all 6 of my main HHs, ate in my 💚 zone of pts. I had 3 meals, 0 snack, used 19 pts. We walked 2.2 mi before breakfast.
My “KISS” HHs (Keep it Simple and Specific) for yesterday: - Do at least 10 mins of PT/ST: N - Avoid salted snacks: 💚 - No “seconds” with snack: 💚 - No eating out of a container: 💚 - Limit phone after 9 pm: 💚 - Evening: “Snack on Inspo”; Read prayers, quotes, whys and goals: 💚 - FFFE (Food-Free Fasting Evenings): 💚 - JGTB (Just Go To Bed) around 10 - 11 pm: 💚
Yesterday I did errands and then worked at the office. I listened to part of a speaker on insulin resistance the Kick Sugar Summit while I was driving.
KELLY - GFY with the miles and WATP. So glad DHs cardioversion went well and the low WBC isn’t an issue. I have consistently low WBC - not a lot below normal - and my Dr isn’t concerned. We plan to be north until early-mid Dec.
CAROL - GFY working off nervous energy at the pool and stretching. I’m impressed with “practice packing”! Have a great trip! I’ll be thinking of you and Fred and will check FB. Thanks for the update on your niece. I’ve been praying for her.
Be well, and take care, for ourselves and for each other.

Good Morning!!
I added 2 miles yesterday with WATP and 1 mile walk at lunch. Low steps for the day.
I had a f/u with the endocrinologist in the morning and worked the rest of the day. The Graves disease is slow to respond to the medication this time. It was new endocrinologist as the previous one was a traveling Dr. This one said I will have to either have radioactive iodine treatment or thyroidectomy eventually.
Went to Bible Study last night.
Cait: Good job on another good day. Sounds like work has been keeping you busy.
Waving to all!!! Happy Walking!!

Yesterday I got my hair cut. Lots of “to-do’s” before leaving Sat.
DH got the news that his total cholesterol dropped from 230 to 196 and everything is good. He’s pretty proud of that and I am too. He’s been doing the healthier eating and drinking since mid June, and even having ground flax seed in his oatmeal.
KELLY - GJ with the 2 mi with WATP and walk. Hope the thyroid Med will take effect soon. 🙏 {{hugs}} My ex had thyroid radiation treatment 40+ yrs ago, and later he was dx with Graves.

KELLY - GFY with the 2.63 mi. Nice that you can get out to walk. Sounds like you’re still in training mode with the new job.

Yesterday was very busy with work, errands and prep to travel north. I prioritized, did what I could and let go of the rest. I had to do the same this am because I miscalculated what time I had to wake up so I had less time to get ready, but it’s OK, I’m OK and we’re on the road again.
This am I attended my weekly WW virtual workshop - the topic was about identifying ourselves as “exercisers.” The coach said that’s been shown to help us move more consistently. So for example, “I’m a walker. I’m a dancer. I do PT and ST.” We have a tendency to underestimate how powerful this can be - changing our thinking can change our actions - and the reverse is true as well.
CAROL - I hope you and Fred are having a wonderful time. Re the beach path wording you asked about - I had to look at it several times to see the letters, but then it clicked - we see this every day - Junipero Beach is at the foot of Junipero Ave in Long Beach.
Be well, and take care, for ourselves and for each other.

Good Morning!!
I added 8.82 miles Fri-Sun.
Friday night went to my Alma Maters football game. The team did not win any of their games this year. I mostly went to see my great niece twirl her baton in the band.
Saturday my miles came from mowing. Ran some errands.
Sunday went to Church, Aldi run, grabbed some lunch, and relaxed the rest of the day. I did made homemade beef barley soup.
Cait: WTG on all your miles and overall good days with your HHs.

Yesterday we drove the last two legs of our trip, got groceries in town and headed “downriver” to our cabin. When we arrived the barren views of our cabin and from the cabin looking out were a bit of a shock but we knew it would be. It’s more disturbing to DH than to me, but we both knew that would be so. There are still more trees to be removed around our cabin that could fall on us. And we’re still not used to the burned tree landscape along our road either. But one good thing is that someone removed the large metal structure across the road from us on one of the properties where the houses were destroyed.
We got RSV vax shots at the grocery store pharmacy. I heard the announcement over the speaker about vax shots available and that reminded me. There was no one in line at the pharmacy so it was a quick fix. We’re age 76 so we qualify. Our Dr thought it was a good idea, although we don’t have any additional medical conditions making us more vulnerable to serious illness. DH has been wanting to get the vax because he’s so susceptible to bronchitis.
KELLY - GJ with the 8.82 mi Fri-Sun! That mowing can really add up. Yay, soup season! I’m making beans now, but plan to make soup some time this week.
Be well, and take care, for ourselves and for each other.

Good Morning!!
I was preoccupied yesterday morning so no exercise before work. I added 1.59 miles at lunch.
Cait: Good job on an overall good day with your HHs. Glad you both got your RSV vaccine. I am sure it was shocking to see the all the trees removed and the remaining burnt ones. Nature is so beautiful and when it is destroyed it is heart breaking. It is a miracle your home is still standing.
Waving to all!!! Happy Walking!!

Good Morning, Challengers
Yesterday Mon I did all 6 of my main HHs, ate in my 💚 zone of pts. I had 3 meals, 0 snack, used 20 pts. We walked 2.4 mi after breakfast.
Yesterday we walked a bit farther than our usual 2.1 mi route to see if there were salmon in this one spot where we often see them in the season, and they were there 😍. The main salmon in our river are Coho. Good news also re the salmon in the Klamath river which is 2 mi from us. The dams in the Klamath were taken down this summer and there are Chinook salmon upriver in OR for the first time in 100 yrs.
We were able to have lunch out on the deck although it was a bit breezy and chilly. Temp only got up to 64 yesterday. This am the temp is 40.
The family of 5 who were living in 4 trailers outside the community hall for the past year since the fire have moved the trailers back on their property. I guess they finally got water and power and satisfied the county requirements.
KELLY - GFY making time to get in at least 1.59 mi at lunch. That’s what I need to do for my PT/ST “make time” for it! Are you working with health coaching patients now?
Be well, and take care, for ourselves and for each other.

Good Morning!!
I added 2.30 miles yesterday 1 mile WATP and 1.30 mile walk at lunch. We are actually having warm days this week with temps in the mid 70's during the day.
Cait: Good job on your HHs and miles. Sounds like your enjoying your time up North.
The job I am doing will eventually involve Health Coaching but I am not doing that part yet. Right now I am doing Transition of care calls. We call people that were discharged from the hospital. My Team calls the Aetna,Aetna Medicare, and Population Health which is part of my employer's benefit in addition to our Capital Blue Cross That will be ending the end of the year. The Aetna is a pretty big part of our calls.
