Adding 2 miles today, between the circuit and campus walking. I stretched at home AND went to the new stretching class for a total of 40 minutes. I want to support the class, since it's a new one.

Good Afternoon Walkers!
Just a quick note to tell you I heard back by email from KC in Corpus Christi TX and she is OK. Her DH passed away Jan of 2016 But she is still "W&M" (Walking and Moving) and doing it with DETERMINATION, which are two of her favorite slogans.
No exercise for me yesterday. I just can't seem to get myself to do my marching in place at night, and in the a.m. I want to relax and have my coffee. Waaahhh. I want to have my fitness and health, but also be as sedentary as I enjoy, and eat what and as much as I want, too! Hmmmmm. Not working. Something has to give. I heard a podcast on Overeaters Anonymous where the speaker said "I had to give up what I want to get what I need."
But yesterday I did stay in my green zone of pts and JWTB around 10 pm, and only had fruit & 1 tsp unsalted pumpkin seeds for evening snack. This a.m. DH & I went to the Jewish Community Center for our orientation to the weight machines in the fitness center, a benefit through our Medicare Supplement and "Silver Sneakers." I think DH was pretty positive about it, which would be a big deal for me, helping me get there to work out.
KELLY - GFY with the 2.5 mi of exercise, >10K steps and calorie range. You are doing great with the exercise consistency. I used to have a Diet Pepsi addiction. I did gradually let go of it and haven't had a soda in ages. I drink a lot of water, plus black coffee and plain green tea. There's been some negative info from studies on it recently, especially re dementia, so I'm glad I'm off of it. www.scientificamerican.com/article/diet-soda-and-dementia-what-you-need-to-know/
CAROL - GFY 2 mi circuit & campus walking plus stretching at home & stretching class
Waving at everyone! Have a great day!

Amy, I enjoy Vic's popcorn, too.
Kelly, congrats on a great day! The semester will settle down next week, which I'm looking forward to!
Cait, I hear you on the wants/needs dilemma! I do better with a schedule, and believe me, I've had some crazy ones! Hope the weight machines work for you--that's super important, but hard to do at home.
AquaFit (2) and campus walking (1) and 110 stairs.

Good Morning!!!
I had a good day yesterday. Busy day at work. My coworker and I have been training our supervisor how to help with our job. The poor young fellow has no clue. I am so glad that after today I am off til Wednesday and then that day I work in the office close to home. I stayed below calories yesterday, added 3 miles of exercise, 10605 steps and 72 oz of water.
Cait: It is hard to give up what we want even when we know what we want is not always the best for us. I drink a lot less soda than I use to. I've read the studies along with a lot of studies regarding this causes that etc, but being a nurse you see people with many different diseases and conditions that never partook in the foods or environmental exposures that ar said to cause the conditions. I am a believer of moderation.
Thanks for the update on KC, yes I had remembered she had lost her husband.
Carol: Glad the semester will be settling down.
Amy: Hope you soon find a nutrition program that works for you.
Waving to all. Happy Walking!!

Good Morning Walkers! No exercise yesterday except the little bits of demo on the weight machines at the JCC fitness. Even that little bit pulled a tiny muscle in my arm and today DH is quite sore. Just shows how much we need this. Planning to go together tomorrow am. This am I did my full PT for 3 miles then went to WW for monthly WI - 178.2 at 5'9" - up another 2 lbs since my last WI 6/30/17 and over 10 lbs this year But at least I'm slightly below my July 2016 high of 178.6, and still well below my top known weight of 276, and below my WW start weight of 256 in Jan 2003. If I keep letting go of the night snacking and staying up late watching TV, one day at a time, I'll have this in hand. Thank you God, I've let go of so many of my other compulsive eating habits. These are the last, most deeply ingrained. KELLY - GFY with the exercise, steps, water and calories. My reasons for stopping the diet soda were that it was compulsive for me - large volumes and obsessive, and it seemed to prime my taste buds for wanting more sugar, more food. It was hand in hand with my compulsive eating. CAROL - Yes it will be hard to do when we return home to N CA but I'm hoping the variety will help stimulate my motivation to do more exercise, and also help DH & me do exercise together. AMY - it sounds like your healthy eating plan is taking shape. Waving at everyone! Have a great day! Cait

Cait, at least you're still going to WW. I don't have the nerve! Years ago a clean-living friend of mine had a heart attack at age 53! When the doc found out how much Diet Coke she drank, he told her not to drink another (I almost never saw her empty-handed)! She quit cold turkey (scared straight, I guess) and is now enjoying her grandchildren. I'm grateful that's one bad habit I avoided--of course, I have plenty of others!
Kelly, isn't it fun to train your supervisor? I've done that a couple of times too, but only because I didn't want the job!
Counting 3 miles today between walking at a local nature center and mowing the lawn.
