Hi all,
The medicine really seems to be helping. I have so much more energy, and my BP has been in the normal range for the last few days. I don't remember the last time it has been normal that consistently.
JoJo, that is terrible. Thoughts and prayers for the family.
Joan, I thought it was a really good book too. It's still hot here, but is supposed to feel like Fall this weekend.

Hi!
Yesterday was busy with volunteering all morning then meeting friend for lunch. Nice to see the young owner of the restaurant and got to chat a bit with her since I got to the restaurant 20 minutes before my friend did.
My friend ended up not buying anything for her dinner party...she would be buying it too far in advance of her Sat night dinner and it would not be good by then.
Afterwards she came back to my house, and picked up 3 more SO's painting for her new rental house. She had to rent a van in order to transport these large pieces. All 3 of us had to carry these pieces out.
I was so exhausted afterwards, plus ate a lot at lunch and felt foggy afterwards.
Holly, so glad that your new medication is working out!
Jojo, very sad about DHs cousin and husband.
Joan, happy birthday to your DH!
Have been lazy today. Will go to the gym and farmers market shortly.

Holly- how wonderful that you are feeling so much better!
Joan - the book you are reading sounds so interesting. I always had an issue with the MD's, particularly the oncologist that would only want "all optimism" about a pt 's condition when they were dying. They were not realistic about the pt's condition and I felt they robbed them of the end of life things that a person has to say and do to prepare. Sometimes it was the families also that would not want the pt. To know. In a way I think it is unfair to the Pierson, who may want to spend that time differently. Just saying!
The painters left today about 5:30. All is finished and hit looks so good. Will move the furniture back tomorrow. I am so glad I got them to do it.
We went for Chinese tonight and then to buy groceries. Good to have that done. We were down to nothing in groceries. It always feels good to be restocked.
Joan, you asked if DH has gained wt. Not particularly, but he is very over wt. and so inactive that I figure the wt loss by diet would make him a little healthier. There seems no chance he will get more active. Although I have to say he has been trying hard lately to do more things with me lately, like going to buy groceries with me! This in itself is a huge step for him. He is trying also not to snack and to drink more water. All this is very uncharacteristic of him but I certainly am glad to see it!

I feel like I Have accomplished so much today! Bought paint and flowers. Finished painting all the wicker and metal furniture and got it back on the front porch. Potted the flowers. Blew off the yard . I was so tired tonight. Made meatloaf and fresh green beans for dinner. Was going to buy new hanging baskets and greenery for them but decided to wait til tomorrow.

Wow, JoAnne, if your DH just followed you around for a day he'd lose weight! What is it about men getting so sedentary later in life! I wonder if their reduction in testosterone is a part of it along with a kind of deprabout the change that causes in them? Seriously, I say it a more blunt way to BF but you know they lived so long with raging hormones and then older age and adapting hits he,--some of them can't and he hen begins the issue--no proof but thats my guess. They don't get it that fitness and weight play into all of it.
Yesterday I did pilates and yoga and had planned to do a late afternoon Zumba with a new teacher I like but she had a sub so I walked at the park instead doing a switchback ramp up and down into a water retention basin there. Figured the effect of hills was good for me.
Last night we ate at his new organic Fresh MX place--had gr shrimp and two sides of veggies. In their salsa bar I discovered here yummy pickeled carrots. So good! We took DGS13 and then had a pinkberry frozen yogurt. Came back here and I taught him cribbage so we managed two games before his mom picked him up. He loved it--so glad as I love cribbage and always played with my dad as a kid.

Hi!
I volunteered yesterday, then went to the gym in the late afternoon. I used to not go to the gym after a volunteering stint, 3-4 hours on my feet, lifting things, etc. But I've been pushing myself to also go to the gym on volunteering days.
Jojo, great that your DH is at least doing something more than usual, little steps may lead to bigger ones! You sure did get a lot done yesterday
Joan, I like pickled carrots. You are fortunate to have a teenage DGS that still plays with you. My youngest nephew is going through a grouchy phase.
Not much going on this weekend. Haven't heard yet from sous chef about next week.
Just scheduled a colonoscopy, ugh.

Sue- is the son's chef with the catering business? Wonderful that you have been doing the gym!
Joan- I think your idea about the men is right. I am Just so glad to see him take an interest in any thing that I am doing and to go with me - mjust shopping would get more steps in. I think finding out that all was well with him cardiovascularly gave him no more excuse.
Tonight- chicken on the grill, Parmesan squash and tomatoes.
Accomplishments today- shopped forelements for baskets of artificial greenery for porch and assembled them and hung them, blew leaves off of lawn!

So the gun violence has hit Vegas--angry white rage--and immediately a guy who works for Sheldon Adelson tweets that it's a Muslim. Unreal. Trying to find out how to volunteer our home for relatives of injured. My gym teacher 'S son who is a metro cop was not there thank goodness!

It seems that tragedy strikes on a weekly basis these days, between natural disasters and human madness. Joan, I feel for you, it is your home.
