Hello Crafters Ginny - Sorry to hear you are sick, hope the cold is over quickly. Ruth - Glad the family made it home safely. I survived the tooth extraction and bone graft. My mouth is sore and somewhat painful, but I've been taking Tylenol every 4 hours so hopefully by tomorrow it will feel better. Ibuprofen never works for me, so I don't have any of it to take, though that is what they recommend. It's been strange not to do my exercise and eat my normal foods today. I've had soup, pudding, applesauce and I'm having mashed potatoes for dinner. I hope I can add some protein tomorrow. Take care everyone!

Hello Ruth, Phyl,Ginny & cj,
I am having a super lazy day today. I slept very late and have been reading and not done much else. The weather really feels like fall. It is much cooler and is over cast and looks like rain. I did some crocheting yesterday and listened to an audio book. Most of the books I have been reading are not audio books so I don't get much crafting done. I did go on the Library web site yesterday and checked out some more books including audio books.
Phyl, I am glad your hip is not hurting as much. Sometimes these pains really hurt for awhile and then go away on their own.
Ruth. I am glad that your family got home safely.
cj, I hope that you don't hurt too much. Perhaps they should have given you a prescription for Tylenol 3.
Ginny, Making robes and other cozy things with fleece. sounds like a good idea but I am not very creative. I seem to have found some really good books recently and sometimes I am addicted to reading. Maybe I should start a 12 group for reading addicts.
Have a good evening.

hi, tonight I will be in the playpen. working on the tablemat for ww. this am a terrible thing happened here about 5.10 am. there was a double sucide.
on my way to delona's I drove pass the house and could not figure out why the sheriff was there and about 10 cars. that was around 7.15. they bought the house and really fixed up the back yard. the house was In really good shape when they bought it. the house was pricey. so I hope they didn't get to deep in debt and that is why it happened,. never know. I will say prayers for the victims and families.
today delon and I did not g oto the y. we went the clinic so she could pick up her hearing aid. had breakfast at mac'S. Then went to kohl's. then the mall. she got a shirt at christopher's banks. she thanked me for buying the shirt for her. ?? only cost her 65 cents. I gave her a card for her bday in april so that is what she got with it. I forgot all about the card. kinda funny.
time to get downstairs. ya all have a good night.

CJ, you had to have a bone graft too? I heard that's often the case when someone is considering implants.
Meg, I'm glad you're getting some rest. I used to be a reading addict too but not so much anymore. I did just finish one book and have two more that came available online that I'll be ready between crochet times.
Phyl, it's so sad when people find no other way to deal with their perceived problem than suicide. I know Delona was happy to get a new shirt with the gift card you gave her. I like C and B but haven't been there in several years. I don't even know if they still have the store here or not.
Haven't done any crafting except I found yarn on clearance at Lionbrand site so put some in my cart but didn't get it because of shipping costs. Well soon after that I got an email from them offering me free shipping so of course I do have to order it. I'd better get busy and use more of this yarn. I do also have some in my cart on Amazon but it's an add on item so I have to wait until I have $25 worth of things I want and hope the yarn is still the same price then
We got a lot of things today that we had ordered online. Someone needs to find a way to repurpose these large packing bubbles. I got a ton of them because they put the items in such a large box. Then there's also the boxes themselves to dispose of.
Well I'm going to go make myself a cup of tea with honey to soothe my throat.
Ginny, I hope your cold goes away soon.

Ruth, I hope you are both feeling better. I guess it is about time to think about getting our flu shots.
cj, I hope you have a pain free night after your dental treatment.
Phyl, Committing suicide is a long time solution to a short time problem. One of my DDs case workers committed suicide he was a very caring man and I knew him very well and he helped me a lot. The people left behind always wonder what could I have done to help. Always very sad.
Ginny, remember the twilight series on TV years ago. One episode was about a town and all the people in town vanished and there was just one man left. He was an avid reader so he was happy he had the library all to himself with all the books he wanted. he had very poor eyesight and wore glasses. He was sitting on the library steps and he dropped his glasses and when looking for them he stepped on them a d broke them and couldn't read any of the books.
I am off to bed. Good night.

Good morning!
Ruth-before I forget the thing Dd made is called a snuggie- has no zippers and is super easy to make. Directions are available online. Glad you found a good sale at Lionbrand and even got free shipping! Yay! What are your plans for the yarn? Were you ever able to find the crocheted bracelets?
CJ- my assessment is an agreement with Ruth- bone graft goes with implant. The implant process is long....but worth it if you can afford it. Hope you are feeling well today and healing quickly. Follow your dentist (oral surgeon ) directions regarding icing, heat application and rinsing with salt water (or disinfecting mouth wash). Its a lot of work for a few days but worth is to avoid problems. Hope that your discomfort goes away quickly. There are good web site describing the healing process during a bone graft and when the swelling goes away. Prayers for quick healing for you.
Meg, funny you mention the Twilight Zone. When Dd was still home we watched an episode with her. I loved that show as a kid- and was always so disappointed when the show was over after a very quick half hour. Hope you slept well and are feeling great. Knit wits meet tomorrow, right?
Phyl- my Ds had a coworker who took his life about a month ago. Its a very sad story....and I think if the deceased knew the turmoil they cause those who remain they might reconsider. WHat a blessing you are to Delona- love the story of her 65 cent shirt at Kohls! How far did you get with the tablemat last night?
I went to bed early after taking all kinds of meds to treat the sneezing, headache and stuffy nose. Slept pretty well and am feeling ok this morning.
I am so thankful (not sure if I mentioned this) that we got the hotel arrangements for the wedding we are attending in a week. Its a relief for me as the hotel (which at the moment I also have a reservation at) that is reserving a block of rooms for the wedding is even further from our home than the wedding- and I would rather stay "on the way home" instead of going even further. So we just found something that looks good- its right off the interstate and also gives us some privacy from the wedding party. Usually Dh drives on these long trips- so I will be able to get lots of embroidery or crocheting done.
Gotta go pay some bills. Have a great day Ginny

Good morning all
Meg, yes now that company is gone it's time for me to make doctor appointments for dh and I both and they'll give us our flu shots then. I do remember watching Twilight Zone every week. I liked the show too.Yes give me a library, a grocery store and a good pair of glasses and I'd be happy...well for awhile
My ddil's mother committed suicide but I doubt she really meant to do it. She was an alcoholic and was very drunk at the time.It still devastated my ddil and her sister. They had had a troubled relationship with her anyway so there were lots of regrets and self recriminations thinking they should have done more and they were both pretty young at the time....about 21 and 24
Ginny, I looked up the snuggy pattern. Yes it is very easy. I wish my ds lived closer so that I could get the children's measurements and make them each one.My dil always intends to get measurements for me but she gets busy and forgets. The time she wanted me to make them all owl hats and the "boys" (my ds and dgs) angry bird hats she actually measured everyone and sent the measurements to me but that was the only time I actually got them. I'm glad the meds helped you, Ginny, and you're feeling better today
No I still haven't found the crochet bracelets but then I haven't searched. I kinda forgot about them actually.
CJ, I hope you're feeling ok today and not having any pain. Do you have to go back for a check of the site?
Yesterday all I got done was cleaning the kitchen so today I have to get busy and actually do some things. Cleaning bathrooms, launder sheets and towels, etc. I won't get everything done but I'll start.
The yarn I ordered is for more baby blankets, Ginny. Since our last president was determined to put the coal mining industry out of business many here are struggling to make ends meet and you know how much baby items cost so blankets are very much needed. I could also make baby snuggies with my fleece with an elastic at the bottom like those little nighties they used to make that I mentioned a couple weeks ago. I could put in openings for the seat belt in the little infant car seats to go thru. Everyone has a car seat because if you don't the hospital gives or lends one and it's hard to get the baby comfie in them when they have a "sack" type garment on.I'll work on blankets now though because they can be tucked in anywhere.
Talking about the opening in the garmet reminds me of last Thanksgiving weekend when the great grandboys were here (ok, their parents and grandma were here too) I had some clothes for them and one was a snowsuit type thing but a sack type. It had an opening for car seat belt but dgd didn't know what it was for. Everyone wondered why it had a hole in the front and back so I had to explain the car seat thing then both sets of parents said, excitedly, "oh yes, we wondered how to get the baby situated with one of those sack things on"...I think in the old days they called things like that buntings. They didn't have car seats way back then though
Ok see you all later. Have a great and blessed day

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today.
Thanks so much for all your kind thoughts about how I am. The pain is much less today, which is nice. They didn't give me a prescription, so I'm just using Tylenol. I did the ice packs yesterday and only have a little puffiness today, so I'm sure they helped. I'm doing the warm saltwater rinses today. I'll take it easy today and tomorrow too and hopefully be feeling back to normal by Saturday.
I have the option now to get a dental implant or a bridge. I'm kind of leaning towards the implant since it will not impact the teeth on other side as much as a bridge would, and also help my gums not to recede anymore (I have some problems with that). But I have a few months to decide while the graft heals up.
Ginny - Hope you are feeling better today too. I'm glad you were able to make some closer hotel reservations and that you'll have some time in the car to work on your crafting.
Ruth - Sounds like you are busy with house cleaning, hope you get some time for relaxing too.
Meg - I'm glad to hear you are getting some cooler weather and enjoying some good books.
Phyl - That was nice that your friend could buy something she wanted with the gift card you gave her. I'm sorry to hear about the suicides. I know the feeling of thinking things will never get better and there is no hope. It's just sad when people reach that point but can't see that there are always ways to work things out.
Take care everyone!

A short good evening-
Ruth, I have h
ad good luck getting approximate dimmesions for kids hats online (what is the average head circumference for a 4 year old)- so for something like a robe of a snuggy wouldn't the clothes size for each child be enough? ANd yes I remember buntings.... LL Bean used to make a snuggy type thing with a hole in it for an infant car seat.
CJ- glad you are doing better. I agree with your logic on implant/vs bridge. Good to hear that you are pretty comfortable and that Tylenol is holding the pain level down.
I am feeling a bit better, still tired though. Dh does indeed say that he will do most of the driving to the wedding.....sounds like I will get time to crochet.
Hi to Phyl and CJ Ginny

CJ, I'm glad the area the tooth was extracted from is not awfully painful. The dentist we used to have used to have pain meds right in his office that he would give after an extraction. Of course the law became stricter and he had to stop doing that. Last time I had a tooth pulled it was using the new method but the dentist gave me a prescription anyway but I didn't use any because it didn't hurt enough. Like you, I took tylenol. Ginny, I'm glad to hear you got a hotel closer and on your way home. I'm glad to that your dh will do most if not all the driving so you can do some needlecrafts. I usually do all the driving so I'm not sure but I think that last time I tried to crochet while riding it didn't work out well.I'm glad too that you're feeling better. Get some rest. Since it's going to be cold after tomorrow I made a big pot of chili. It will keep us warm and it's spicy. Luckily spicy food isn't a problem for me like it is for some people with IC. I did search again today for the bracelets after Ginny reminded me of them but I still haven't found them. I can't imagine where they would be because I remember thinking that I needed to keep them out so that I could show them to and give them to my dgd. I'm sure no one came into my house and walked out with handmade bracelets and nothing else They'll show up sometime I'm sure. In he meantime I'll make more Phyl and Meg, I hope you both are having good days also.

Good morning !
Ruth, so sorry I got you looking for those bracelets.....gee I think I was even the one who gave you the idea to make them. (Am I in trouble now?). Yes they will show up-sooner or later. I am surprised with all the cleaning you did before your company arrived that you did not locate the bracelets then. We all know they will show up sooner or later. I know my pastors wife (who also does a lot of crafting ) does the same thing- put a project where she will remember it. And then not remember where that special place was.
GOrgeous morning here in my part of the country. For now the humidity is low so I am letting the house air out. Dh went out for breakfast with friends, so I am going to make dinner- vacuum and perhaps get a half hour to myself.
Hope everyone is well- hi to Meg, CJ and Phyl Ginny

Ginny, no don't be sorry you reminded me. I'm glad you did. When I was clearing up and clearing out I found them in the previous place I had stashed them. It was the last minute straightening up that caused me to put them in the new place. There were quite a few bracelets in there because there were some that I made several months ago then there were the ones I made when you mentioned bracelets here.
Dh and I were up very late last night. Dh tried to sign in to his Amazon account and couldn't get in . It kept saying his password was in correct so he kept going to "Forgot password" and making new ones. It would say "success" and then tell him to put the new pw in but again, each time no luck. Well then we tried to find contact info for Amazon help. Turns out you need to log in to get that info which, of course was the problem he needed help with. Luckily I have my own laptop and a separate Amazon account so I was able to contact them and ask them to email him. Finally they gave a phone number and at 5am finally got the problem taken care of. He would have just created a new account but he had just bought a gift card to use on there...long story but you get a $10 bonus the first time you buy a gift card. He certainly didn't want to lose that $100 he had just spent. So I'm going to be tired today and probably won't get much done
Another friend just emailed me and in that she mentioned that fall is her favorite season too. There are so many people who love fall. I don't. Spring is my favorite. It's much cooler today and I am not looking forward to the weekend when it will be really cold.
Have a great day everyone and Ginny, I hope you're more rested and feeling better
Phyl, I'm sure you're on the go ...have a great day too
CJ, Most people that I know that have implants are very happy with them. One woman, though, chewed some hard nuts with hers and thought she may have damaged them but it worked out ok.
Meg, I know you're enjoying the cooler weather. I like it a little cooler too but not cold.
We are a small but such a wonderful group. I'm so thankful that Meg told me about this thread.

Good morning Ruth, Phyl Ginny & cj,
It is much cooler in the morning now and I am enjoying the cooler days. I have been working on my b/blanket which has taken me ages to finish but I am happy to report that I finished it last night. I washed it last night and it is now in the dryer. I want to do a blue b/blanket next, just deciding on a pattern. The one I just finished was crocheted in a V stitch. I might try the waffle stitch for a change, I've done that stitch before and it makes a nice b/blanket. I also need to finish Devin's slipper boots. I've been reading so much I am getting behind with my crafting among other things.
cj, I am glad you can control the pain with Tylenol and that you are feeling better. There is a lady in my knit wits GP who had all her top teeth removed recently she is going to have implants. She is over 90 and I think it is a lot of expense for someone her age. But if it makes her happy and she can afford it why not go for it.
Ginny, I think we all put things where we just know where to find them and then can't find them. I hope you get that 1/2 hour to yourself. I think I would find it easier to knit in the car rather than crochet. Have a good trip. Hope the hotel is clean with good beds.
Ruth, have you found the bracelets? when I can't find something I pray about it and low and behold whatever I have been searching for turns up. I have to go and get ready to go to Knit Wits. I have a cap that I have been working on so I will probably take that as it is small and easy to carry. Also it is mindless knitting so I can be free to talk.
Phyl, hope you are having fun wherever you are.

You're not going to believe this. This happens so often to me. As you know I've been searching high and low for the container with the bracelets in it. Well I was just walking from my kitchen into the living room thru a little breakfast nook, not even looking for the bracelets, and there right on top of a popcorn tin that I use to store dried beans, etc sat the container. So it's been sitting right there in plain sight the whole time ds and dgd were here and also since. How did I not see that? We were even talking about that window that's right there and looking at it and the bracelets were right in front of that window. So mystery solved. I was actually even thinking that it somehow got put into the bags I took to GW.My microwave is right near it too so I've walked right past it many times in the last two weeks
