Good morning Ginny and Ruth and all who join us today.
Ginny, many thanks for starting off on another week. Hope your day is not too busy.
Ruth, I agree goodbyes are hard. But you had a wonderful time and made some good memories. Did you finish the gloves?
Not sure what I am going to do today. I have not worked on anything since Friday. I get started on a book and if I like it I just want to keep reading. The weather is so much cooler . I think today it will reach 80 and tomorrow it will be in the 70s, I love it. I will check back later. Have a wonderful Monday.

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today Ginny - Good luck with Etsy, I hope it works well for you. Also hope work isn't too busy - how are the kids on your bus? Ruth - The time has gone so fast, I know you'll be sad to see them go. I hope your son is feeling better. I'm happy to hear you DGD had a nice birthday. I love pizza, so I'm sure I'd love that restaurant. Hope the meal was good. Meg - Hope you are enjoying the cooler weather. It got warm here again, I'm hoping for 70s again soon. Sounds like you are reading a good book - it's a pleasure to get lost in a story, isn't it? Phyl - Hope you are doing well and keeping busy. I haven't done any crafting, but I did check out some websites yesterday. I went out and did shopping and errands today. I have the dentist tomorrow, and I'm hoping whatever is wrong won't turn out to be a major problem. Take care everyone!

ruth time does go fast when our families come and have to leave. I know it goes very fast when nancy and her family come home.
think it is time for a soak in the tub and pj's. it has been a sunny and cloudy ,cool day. tonight does feel like a fall night. so why not?? we had some light rain this afternoon.phyl

Good evening! Phyl, what a great idea to make a table runner/table mat as a door prize for a WW meeting. Ok you are nuts cutting all those pieces, but I am sure it will turn out beautully and whoever wins it will love it. Soaking in a tub and then warm Jammie's sounds wonderful. Enjoy! how is your hip feeling?
CJ- best of luck with the dentist tomorrow. I am praying that its a simple solution- nothing too costly or involved. (Gotta say if it was my mouth simple and inexpensive never happen....) Of course checking out web sites counts- and if you had to do errands, well, that takes up a lot of time. You will have time to play at crafting another day.
Ruth- how far do Ds and DGD live from you? THis sounds as though it was the perfect visit- just long enough and everyone got along well. You will be in my prayers for a safe journey home for your family, and also to soften the pain of saying goodbye.
Meg are you reading a good book?
Busy day here, it was babysitting day for me. No crafting but I did get the newest newsletter from my LQS- and regretfully found that the only class I am sort of interested in starts this Friday (and is probably full) and will be next to impossible for me to attend. So that is my crafting for the day. I wish the closer LQS had classes like that....I find her much more pleasant than the bigger LQS also.
Ok enough from me. Have a wonderful evening- see you tomorrow! Ginny

Meg, sometimes we just have to set everything aside and enjoy a good book. One of the ones I had on hold is available now so I probably will be doing that later tonignt and definitely tomorrow night. I'm glad it's cooling off there and you'll be able to actually enjoy the weather. CJ, sometimes it's fun to shop and do errands. It's nice to find healthy foods that are tasty and good for us as well as working great for our diet needs. Phyl, cutting and sewing all those triangles does sound like a lot of work but no you're not crazy. And it's so good of you to donate the finished project. I heard...was it from you....that one ww leader read her own poems at the meetings and was told by the higher ups that she wasn't allowed to do that. I'm glad your meeting is better and allows donations. I'm sure everyone there is happy to have a chance to win something or share things from other people's gardens Ginny, I hope you day went well and you have a good week and can enjoy your extra day off this week. Ds and dgd went out to a place where you can climb rock walls. Earlier we did go to Pizza Ranch and had a great time and great meal. No one is going to need to eat this evening but we'll probably each have a little snack. I didn't eat things I shouldn't eat. I felt very stuffed but the chicken thighs I had had very little meat on each one so although I ate three it didn't add up to much meat. I had a small amount of salad made with spinach leaves, some green beans, one potato wedge and a tiny serving of ice cream. Everyone else had that and pizza and they made floats with the ice cream and some root beer.CJ, you should have come with us No I didn't get the other glove done yet. I might yet get it done tonight but I don't know. If not I'll just send it and others when I send their #3 daughter and their #2 son's gifts next month. Well I'm going to go and straighten up some so will see you all later or tomorrow. Have a great evening. I'll check back later to see if there are any new posts

Good morning!
Ruth, glad you got to go out with DGD and DS to pizza ranch. Hats off to you for staying on program and making wise food choices. When everyone is gung ho eating all the foods that are a problem for you sometimes its tough to say no and eat what is best. Am I reading between the lines correctly and seeing that your spasms are under control now? Knowing that you are always getting a box ready to send to your Ds's family for birthdays or whatever - well that does take the rush off finishing the second glove. You are in my prayers as you all must part company today.
Had to work a bit extra this am to help administer and grade tests. Now I have a quiet house as Dh went to babysit. Time to get some paperwork done and some housework too. Ginny

Ginny, I must have missed your last post yesterday. So did your dh do the baby sitting and you didn't have to do it. So besides your bus driving duties you help with test admin and grading too?
Thanks for the prayers. They sure helped as I was ok with them going. Yes I loved having them here but it's also nice to be back in my regular routine again. On the way back from the airport we stopped at Walmart. I was hoping to return an electric griddle I bought. It said family size but must be for a small family because I just noticed day before yesterday that it's only 14x14 inches. I didn't have my receipt though and it read as not being in the system so I couldn't return it after all so I'll probably give it to one of my older grandchildren as a gift. Dh got some really good bargains on wrangler khaki shorts for next year. marked down from nearly $20 to only one dollar. They're very nice looking shorts and have great pockets that he can put all his necessities in.
It's so cold here today. It started out warmer but it clouded over right before we were to leave and then started raining and is very cold and damp. THe next couple days are to be a little warmer with highs of 70 but then after that it's all downhill at least for awhile. I imagine we'll have some nice warmer fall days even in October but right now I'm not happy with the coldness.
CJ, I hope all goes well at the dentist today.
WEll Ginny, looking at the offered class does count as crafting.
I didn't finish dgd's second glove but I told her I'd send them and some bracelets. Some of you said you're in awe of what all I get finished as far as crochet items but I don't work so I have lots of time.
Well better go clean up the kitchen.

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today Ruth - I'm glad you had a nice visit with your family, and hope they have a safe trip home. Ginny - Sorry you can't get to the quilt class, I'm sure it harder to find classes on the weekends or evenings. Phyl - Sounds like you are busying making things and I'm glad you enjoyed the Sit and Sew and your machine. Meg - Hope you are doing well. I found out that I need to have a crown removed and the tooth below it pulled due to decay in the area. Then I'll have to decide to get an implant or a bridge. I'm not looking forward to getting the tooth pulled because I had a bad experience years ago where I didn't get enough numbing done and I almost went into shock from the pain. I always make sure now to tell dentists to make sure to numb me well. I'm getting the tooth extracted tomorrow, so I'll be recuperating for a few days. I hope everything goes well and I heal up fine. Take care everyone!

CJ, I had a tooth pulled quite a few years ago and had complications with that and hoped I never had to have any tooth pulled again. I did need one extracted though after that but that time everything went smoothly and no problem at all. Just three years ago yet another had to come out. They had a whole new way of doing it and that was a breeze. So I hope you have the same experience and have no problem.I'm sorry you have to have it pulled
Thank you all for the wishes and prayer for safe travel for my ds and dgd. They won't arrive home until 10:30 their time which is eastern time. They'll be tired. Sometimes flying from here you have two plane changes. This time they only have one so that's a little better.I'm sure they'll be glad to be back home I know my ds was constantly thinking about his wife who is about 8 months pregnant now. I'm still surprised they came during her pregnancy but then, again, it is the 8th child. They talked a lot on the phone. You can sure tell they're still in love after all this time.
Phyl, I'm glad you had a good time at sit and sew. And you're smart to not start dogsitting for the new neighbors. I hope the dogs are quiet and well behaved
Meg, I hope you're having a good day and getting more rest and reading a good book. How's the eye?

A short good morning...
Ruth, hope that your family arrived home safely. I am sure it will be nice to get your life back to a normal routine. Its such a blessing having family for company but it is a lot of work.
Phyl- sounds like you had a good day- enjoying sit and sew and your new machine. I am glad that your hip is calm....and pray that it stays that way.
Meg,we miss you and hope you are doing well.
CJ- will pray that this extraction goes well for you. It seems that dentistry has improved over the years, and the "art" of numbing the patient has gotten much better. (Got personal experience with that myself). I have both bridges and an implant in my mouth - and would be happy to share my experiences if you are interested. I will say that implants are pricey- and a long process, but considering the end result very worth it.
Gotta go take the kiddies to school GInny

Yes My ds did send a message that they arrived home safely so I'm very thankful.
Today is still cold but not as cold as yesterday and it's also sunny. I don't think we are probably going anywhere today so I'll get the house back in order, do some cooking and then later some crocheting or I might actually look in my fleece fabric stash and make some of it into some blankets. Has anyone done this? If so how did you make them? I've made the fringe ones of course. I think everyone did years back but I don't like those much.I would also have to find a ball point needle for my sewing machine because I think that would work much better. When ds and dgd were in Yellowstone they stopped and bought a couple cheapie fleece blankets at Walmart but it's super thin fleece. They even left one here rather than drag it all the way home.I'm sure I bought ball point needles actually when I bought this machine and I've never used them yet...too lazy to change needles
I didn't finish my book last night. It's one that I've read before and I've forgotten some of it. Then another that I had on hold online is available so I might start that one too after I get some more constructive things done.
See you all later and have a great day

Good afternoon, Ruth, so glad your family made it through their travels safely. WIth regard to fleece, I have taken the cheaper fleece blankets and done a few things with them. My "bus blanket" is a double thick piece of fleece- which works great for the lightweight fleece- and is super warm. Dd also found an adorable kimono type pattern (try google or Pinterest) to make super easy robes for kids. Just a thought....and those robes are very very easy. There is also an easy pattern online to make a snug sack type of thing from a big piece of fleece. Dd made one, and it came out adorable. Just some ideas.
Gotta go back to work early for an emergency evacuation drill. And yes, Ruth you asked, I am a driver trainer (with my SBDI and 19A certification) so I do get involved grading tests and working with drivers when asked.
Got a lousy cold.
Hope CJ made out ok with her tooth.
Ginny
