Ginny, sounds like a pattern I've seen. It's hard to tell if they're saying do them all in one stitch or, as you said, the next three stitches. There are a lot of patterns now where you do singles and doubles all in the same stitch or singles and half doubles. It makes a nice looking pattern in the item you're making.
I have a list of the cowls I'm making for Christmas in a bookmarks folder so I'm just working my way down the list. Then I have a folder for other Christmas things.
Ginny, enjoy the trip to HL tomorrow. Last time I was there, which admittedly was a few years ago, they had some very nice fabrics.
Meg, did you get to Knitwits today? Was the Russian lady there?

Good morning!
Getting ready to head out for some errands with Dd and yes, the Hobby Lobby is on our list of places to go to.
Ruth, I emailed the link to you for the scrunchie, which hopefully came through this time.
Happy Saturday all. I am going to try to get all my errands done shortly as we are in for heavy rain tomorrow. Ginny

Good morning dear Friends.
Ginny, good idea getting the errands done today then. Yes the link worked fine and the scrunchie is great. I've never seen one made like that. What a great idea. I should have thought of that. Of course whenever I see something that's really good I think I should have thought of it.
Saw a pic of my dggd who's 3 months old now dressed in a crochet candy corn color dress with little matching shoes and hat. Bet that cost whoever bought it a pretty penny. They could have had me make it although I've been busy with other things but I would have done it.
Haven't accomplished much yet today. I'm going to look in my bathrooms for hair elastic to see if I have some that will work for these scrunchies then I'll make a bunch and put them in the box I'm going to mail this week. I can see myself using up a bunch of leftover yarn making these.Thank you so much Ginny.

Very successful trip out with Dd. She got a lovely dress for the wedding she is attending in a few weeks. Then we went on to HL- where I found a perfect fabric for the tree skirt, and we got a great sale on a Christmas tree. That makes me happy as now I do not have to worry about a tree when things are hectic in late November / Early December. In HL- Dd #1 joined us...in the process of looking at all the super pretty ornaments she told me she needs to get a tree skirt. I told her that might not be such a good idea.....so she figured out that I had something under my sleeve. Oh dear, now I have to get busy cutting fabric!
Ruth, so glad the link worked. I get lots of emails from all free crochets- its a pretty decent site and I have gotten good ideas from them. Hope the scrunchie pattern works out.
Happy Saturday all G

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today Ruth - That candy corn outfit does sound cute, I know you would have made it if they'd asked and you'd had time. Hope you are getting in some crafting today. Ginny - I'm glad to hear that you and your DD had a successful shopping trip. It's nice you can spend time together. Meg and Phyl - Hope you are getting in some crafting. I had my monthly lunch out today with the ladies that I went through a Bereavement group with several years ago after we had all lost loved ones. Some of them still struggle with their loss so it's nice to get together and talk in a safe environment. We ate at Red Robin and I had a really good cheeseburger. I also treated myself to some Crème Brulee ice cream at ColdStone Creamery today and enjoyed all the food, sometimes it's nice to eat "regular" food instead of low calorie/low fat. Take care everyone!

Ginny it's good to hear that you had a successful and enjoyable day out. I'm glad you were able to find the fabric you need for the tree skirt and also the Christmas tree. I always buy things like the tree or other Christmas items off season if I can because, as you said, it eliminates the trying to get them when it's hectic and also prices are usually better.
CJ, sometimes we just have to eat regular food in order that we don't feel deprived. I sincerely thing that one of the big reasons people fail when trying to lose weight and keep it off is that they restrict themselves too much and feel very deprived. I've never been at a Red Robin. I see the commercials on tv all the time but we don't have one here and I haven't really run into one anywhere else I've been either. The burgers they show on tv do look so good. We do have a Coldstone creamery in town but I've never been there. I was to one once in Arizona when I was there on a work related trip
I got a LOT done today. Not what I had planned but things I've been wanting to do for awhile now. One of them was my walk in closet. Now you can actually walk into it. I also bagged up a bunch more stuff to donate. Unfortunately some things I bought and never used are now way too big.. I say unfortunately because I wasted my money and they were nice things but I do like that I lost weight.I should have worn those things when I bought them though and not saved them.It all started because dh wondered where a pair of boots that he had went. So I went thru not only that closet but a couple other areas of the house where things were stored. Never did find the boots but did get those spaces organized and now know what is in them.Did some laundry too and while that was being done I simmered some ham to make soup...split pea and will also make some scalloped potatoes with ham later or tomorrow.
Rest of the day will be resting and crocheting those scrunchies and/or start the third cowl. Got the second done last night. Last night I also reorganized my cowl list because I decided that I didn't like a couple of the ones I had on my "to do for Christmas" list.
Ok going to go check on the ham and add the peas and veggies

Hi! CJ- Glad you got out to have lunch with your bereavement group - sounds like a good meal with good company. Each of us grieves in our own way, and I do believe that some peoples never get over a loss. Its such a nice thing that the group still meets to share what is going on in their lives. For those who are still suffering, its a safe place to allow them to feel that pain. And for others its a way to give back to a group that was so very important to you in your time of need. I totally agree, enjoying a burger and ice cream out is perfect- its important to enjoy the foods you like. That is why WW gives you additional point so that we do not feel deprived. Glad you got out and enjoyed yourself!
Ruth- indeed you could have made that adorable candy corn outfit- and I get you would have made it even better!! Glad you had such a productive day, and that your closet is in great shape now. What a feeling of accomplishment for you! Scalloped potatoes with ham is so good, a great comfort food. Hope you were able to relax and crochet later on.
Watching a Hallmark channel with Dd. So nice to have her home. Ginny

Hi everyone, Just a quick post and then I am going to work on my afghan. I did go to Knit Wits yesterday. The Russian lady was very pleased with her booties. She tried them on and walked around the room to show everyone.
I worked om my afghan last night and listened to a book. One of the librarians fixed my Nook for me and this afternoon I spent some time browsing through the books and putting them on my wish list then I can quickly find something to read when I am in a hurry. My arthritis is starting to bother me and my wrists and fingers hurt. But I will keep working as much as I can.
cj, I am glad you got your table cleared off. When I clear mine off it doesn't take it long to get into a mess again. We all come into the house through the garage and into the kitchen and the first thing they see is the table and they drop everything they are carrying there. I have decided that I am going to round up all the paper we have saved for a long time and I am going to take it to a company that does shredding. I get a lot of paper for Janet and most of the time I don't know what to do with it. cj, I hope that now you have reclaimed your table you get a lot of quilting done.
Ginny, Hope the Hall Mark movie was good. and I am glad you were able to watch it with DD.

Happy Sunday!!
Meg, so sorry that your arthritis is acting up. I am glad to hear that you are still trying to get some handwork in- using the impacted joints is supposed to be good for them to keep them loosened up. (Ruth, our resident nurse will probably correct me on that one, but that is what I have heard). Bet seeing your friend showing off her hand made booties in Knit wits made you feel good!!! Wow- you are such a caring person. Nothing like being organized- having your ebooks all lined up on a wish list is such an awesome idea - I do that myself so that I can keep track of what I want to read and not waste time trying to remember. Hope you got a lot done in that afghan.
Welcome back Phyl! What did you get at the quilt show? Aw, if it was fabric, I have heard the following said, that in the game of life, he (or she) who dies with the most fabric wins! (Its supposed to be funny....). Well if you saw some cool fabric that called your name, then it will be well used in some neat project that you take on in the future. So glad you had a good day. Congrats on getting your computer back.
Got to church this am, wonderful sermon. Supposed to have heavy rain today, so will work cutting out the tree skirt that I do not have time to make. Ha ha ha
Have a great day Ginny

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today
Ruth - I've done the same thing with buying clothes while I was losing weight and never wore them and now they don't fit. I did keep a few very nice clothes in a larger size (just in case), but the rest I donated. I'm really bad about saving new things (of all types) thinking I'll use them some day. Hope you got a lot of crocheting done.
Meg - I'm sorry to hear about your arthritis, I hope you feel better soon. That's really nice that the ladies liked her booties. I'm glad your Nook is fixed, I know I'd be lost without my Kindle and the books to read.
Ginny - Hope you enjoyed the Hallmark movie with your DD. I watched the one last too - Marry Me at Christmas. I'd read the book by Susan Mallery so it was interesting to see how they adapted the movie from the book. I enjoy all their holiday movies. Hope your rain isn't too bad. We're supposed to have rain and high winds later today.
Phyl - Welcome back, I'm glad your computer was able to fixed. Spending too much money at a quilt show is almost a given, but I'm glad you were able to go. I'm looking forward the shows again next year.
I haven't been doing any crafting, but still check out this website every Sunday to click on the posts of those who are sharing the Slow Stitching Sunday projects. I thought I'd post the link again in case you want to see them:
kathysquilts.blogspot.ca/ Take care everyone!

Thanks for the link CJ! I will check it out later.... I hope you enjoyed Marry Me at Christmas’s, Dd and I did! I think they have improved the acting on these movies a bit also from previous years. Glad you like their holiday movies also. Stay warm and dry today- hope that the winds do not knock out your power.
Back to cutting fabric Ginny

Phyl, it's good to see that you got back and your computer is fixed. It's too bad that people that work in service industries such and computer repair aren't more industrious and more customer oriented. Yes I agree with the others that going to a quilt show necessitates that you buy.
CJ, my mother was a "saver" too. What we save things for I have no idea esp at my age. when I was organizing yesterday I again saw dishes and my mother's silverware that I'm apparently saving for some reason. I need to get it all out and use it. I have a couple other sets of good china too that I need to just use. Same with clothing. I went thru drawers yesterday too, forgot to mention that, and found some nice nighties that I've been saving...again..why? And thanks for the link. Even though I haven't quilted I like to look at the quilts.
I never did start wrapping and packing yet so will start on that today and I did find some elastics that will work better than the really tight ones I bought last. I still intend on checking them at Walmart and dollar store next time I'm out.

Ruth, either use the fine china or give it to a family member who will appreciate it. A big complaint my mom had was that she gave some fine china to my sister who then decided to give it to someone else. THat really bugged my mom G

let'see, at the quilt shop I bought a yard of penquin fabric, a snowman pattern then you have to have the grid and emblesiments.
at the quilt show I bought a little kit using a small photo type box and you use felted wool for the design and beads. the wool is used for flowers and you put the words stitchin stuff on it. then you glue all this to the lid. also a little round mat type of thing. it has notches In it and you match those up and sew. kind around in the desin plate design but Christmas fabric. also some fat quarters. ruth all the good tech have left and move on. the one we talked to today seem to know what he is talking about and oing. sam is the new guy that has a lott o learn. he probably only graduated from high school In the last two years. very friendly.
oh yes I have heard that saying many times. don has asked me when am I going to open up my own quit shop. I don't want the business headaces. beside I am not good at paperwork. phyl
