Good evening!
Well,,now that i have lost the baby afghan pattern I had chosen for my DGD’s afghan, I am back to searching online to se what I can find. Had no luck searching my internet history-s so now I am back to square one. I am sure I will find something . I do have 4 moths to make this afghan.
Ruth I have bought diffusers on amazon-think spending around $25. The one I got for DD is still working well. Try amazon.
Have a good night all Ginny

oh no, Ginny! I'm so sorry to hear you lost the pattern. They do have so many nice ones available online. I know you'll find something really nice.
I have a partially made baby blanket sitting right here that I've forgotten what pattern I was using. When I finally get back to it I'll have to try to figure out what to do or search thru my baby blanket folder in bookmarks to see if I find one that looks like what I was doing on this one. You would think that by now I would know enough to put a post it note on the bag with the name of the pattern or at least what size hook I was using as that's yet another problem I have when picking something back up to finish it..never can remember what the hook size was.
Good night to all. I'll probably check back later to see if Meg posts again tonight.

Good morning!
Ruth, well that sounds like something I would do, not marking which pattern I was using to make an afghan with. (Its sort of like losing the pattern....a bone head move on my part). I am sure you will be able to figure out pretty quickly what you were making- Regarding hooks, I usually use worsted weight yarn- (4?) and almost always default to a size H or I hook. I tend to stitch tightly so that slightly larger hook compensates for that.
My crafting last night was looking at patterns and cleaning up my sewing area after the tree skirt. Dd took the tree skirt home (which is missing 3 inches of binding....I will fix that after Christmas, I suppose). I also have to head to a craft store, not sure when- to get some beads- Monday I want to make simple beaded ornaments with DGD, who I am sure can handle that.
They just came to put the second coat of polyurethane down- so the house is smelly. Hope CJ, Meg and Phyl get a chance to check in today.
Have a great day Ginny

Ginny, well you did a lot of crafting then with looking at patterns and cleaning up the sewing area. You're right about the hook. I would say it was an H. I know you'll be glad when the floor work is all done. It will be beatiful and worth the inconvenience and odor.I hope you find a pattern that you really like.I don't know about you but for me it's hard to pick one because there are so many that are beautiful.and for our grandchildren we do want to pick something special but also something we can handle and something that will also be used, not something so intricate that the person using it is afraid to do so.
Well I did get the two side of the body of the bear done and one arm completely done and the other almost done. Now for the two feet, the two ears, and the muzzle then the sewing of it all together which shouldn't take long if I just do it.
I do hope that Meg, CJ and PHyl are also having a good day.

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today Ruth - those bears are cute! I had a good time at the casino yesterday. I limited myself to playing $100 only and played $20 on 5 different machines. At the end I had $172, so I made $72 - pretty good. I treated my family to lunch with some of the winnings. We also went to the cemetery and put out all the Christmas flowers on the family graves, so it was nice to get that done. The weather has been really wonderful - in the 50s and 60s and sunny. I can't believe it's the end of November. I'm hoping for a mild December too. Tomorrow I'm planning to go to a Quilt Sale. This business has a sale once a year. All of their quilts are hand quilted. They also provide hand quilting by Mennonite women as a service of their business. I'm really looking forward to seeing the quilts for sale, since I love the hand quilted ones the best. Take care everyone!

I don't know what key I hit but after having about half of my message typed I hit something and a weird page came up then the while thing closed. Anyway CJ, thanks for the compliment on the bears... Of course it isn't my pattern in that I didn't design it but thought it was cute and easy for a little addon gift. I'm glad to see you here and glad that you had a good time yesterday and won too. I know you're going to love hte quilt sale. I'd love seeing them too. Hand quilted quilts are very special. It must take a person forever to hand quilt like that. As I mentioned before I'm sure, my mother's aunt made amazing quilts. Unfortunately I was never the recipient of one of them. She did give one to my sister as my sister was named after the aunt's daughter that died at age 13 from muscular dystrophy. My dil's aunt also makes really nice quilts although I've never seen a full size one she made only a baby quilt and some quilted potholders. Potholders may be small but quilted ones are wonderful in my opinion. I'd never use one if I had one. I'd use it for decoration. Wouldn't want to ruin it.
Well I did actually remember about this baby blanket. I'm really surprised. First of all the hook was in the bag and it was, indeed, an H. Then i remembered that I didn't actually use a pattern. It's just made with that cabbage patch stitch I saw online.THere were no patterns just a stitch swatch so I figured out how many to chain for the size I wanted and just did that stitch. Now whenever I get time I can get back to it and finish it. I can just pick it up in odd moments and work on it while talking, etc. Gotta finish this bear first tho and dh's scarf which the scarf won't take but a few minutes if I'd just get going on it so will make that a priority for this evening.
Have a great day and I hope we'll see Phyl and Meg.

Ginny, what were the essential oils you said you used. I like lavender so I got some of it but now I want to order some more. Do you order yours online?

Good evening!
CJ- attending that quilt sale sounds really exciting! What are you looking for- ate you looking for something specific, as in a quilt for a bed, or a wall hanging? Congrats on a good day at the casino- and a nice lunch out. Hope you have a great day tomorrow..
Ruth- the diffuser I bought was an Innogear- got it on amazon and right now its welling for about $26. I have bought oils both from amazon and walmart- both the brands Now and Plant Therapy (gotten both at Walmart) are good. I know some use the oils to rub on the skin- I just use them in a diffuser. And both brands seem fine. I am glad that you figured out the afghan!! Yay......I kind had a good feeling that you would.
Well spent a ton of time looking for this pattern, and while I’d did not find the pattern I found questions from other people- and in the answers she might have given enough infor that I can finish the afghan. I have a lot of work to do on this afghan, but I really liked the simple way it was working up. Will give it another shot this weekend and see if I can make sense of the pattern without the directions.
Hope Phyl and Meg check in to say hi....
Have a good night all Ginny

Thank you Ginny. What I was really wondering is what fragrances of the oil you use..besides where you buy it
Haven't gotten any more done on the bear because I've been on the phone. I don't normally talk on the phone but I do with this friend. Not often but when we do talk we talk for a long time usually. Tonight though either her phone or mine kept dying out so there were times I coulldn't hear her at all..not because of my hearing this time...definitely was one of the phones. I hung up and called back thinking maybe a better connection but it happened again so I finally suggested maybe we needed to talk another evening. We did talk for over an hour though.

Good morning!! Ruth,, isn’t it nice to chat with al good friend on the phone? Think we have all suffered from the bad connection problem you faced last night. glad you got a chance to catch up anyway. Regarding oils, myf\favorite is probably Doterra’s “breathe”- but its pricey and I was given a bottle- but will never buy it becasue its so expensive. So now, I enjoy lavendar, peppermint, eucalyptus, that kind of thing. And sometimes I combine them- peppermint and lavendar is really. Nice together. My Dd and BF both like orange oil and lemongrass. I am not big fans of those. The brand Kiss, who markets on amazon sells a 5 or 6 scent assortment of scents- it gives a nice sampling of what is out there. Its all personal taste.\\
BBL Happy Friday Ginny

Hello to all and than you Ginny for the info on the essential oils.
It's definitely my phone. I was talking to someone this morning ordering meds and the same thing kept happening. So I need to get a new one. It's my home cordless phone not a cell phone. anyone have suggestions for a good phone?
I never did get back to working on the bear and I didn't meet my goal of getting the scarf done either. It won't even take long so I need to get to that and get it done.
I hope you're all having a good day. CJ, I'm having eating problems....keeping from eating certain things and eating too much of them so I need to do like you said and get my resolve going again.I've gained a couple pounds and need to get rid of it before it grows into more.
Meg, are you going to your knitwits today?
PHyl, you're always on the go so I imagine you're going somewhere too or maybe just "hanging out" in your playpen

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today Ruth - I never have luck with any cordless phones I buy, so I can't recommend one to you. I have noticed in the stores that there are only a few brands that make the cordless now. I usually read the reviews at Walmart or Target's website and hope to pick a good one. Good luck. I'm glad you figured out what "pattern" to use for the afghan. Ginny - Hope you can figure out the instructions for your afghan. I also have that problem with this website sometimes where the page just goes to some weird screen. I worry about a virus so I just close the page and come back later. I had a nice time at the Quilt Sale and bought two hand quilted quilts. One has applique on it - the grapes and grape leaf design, the center is a whole piece of cloth with lots of hand quilting. The other is pinwheels and squares and there are only 3 fabrics in it - a mint, a lilac print and a cream - I really like this one and I'm happy to have it. The couple that run this business have this sale/open house each year. There were lots of refreshments set out, but I passed on them. The hold this in their house and they have some beautiful antique furniture and lots of glass dishware and pottery. It was just a treat to see everything - so many quilts too. Take care everyone!

CJ, is this quilt you bought a bed size quilt? It sounds beautiful and the business owners home sounds beautiful also.I'm glad you enjoyed going.
So far I've spent much of my day on the phone.I had to call the tv provider to cancel the "free" HBO...that was useless. They don't have any good movies according to my dh and I don't watch movies at all. Had to wait on hold for quite awhile because you can't cancel online. Then I had a hard time hearing and the person I spoke to was from INdia or Pakistan. None of these companies seem to have Americans working for them anymore and when a person I speak to has an accent it's even harder for me to hear and understand.I had to call back three times and move to different parts of the house before I could get the phone to work correctly so definitely need to get a new phone. This one is a Vtech and was very inexpensive. I don't need one with answering machine included and I do think that they more expensive ones won't work any better than this one. I would like to have one that you can plug headphones into because I can hear much better using headphones and then my hands would be free too. Mine doesn't have that capability.
Well I'm going to get busy on crocheting now finally. I do need to reorganize my craft cave. It's a mess again.I need a better system for organizing yarns.
See you all later

Good evening!!
CJ- the quilts you bought sound so lovely- I love that kid of quilting- lots of interesting patterns in the quilting itself on a more plain single piece of fabric. SO striking and a real testimony to the skill of the quilter. Its simply amazing what a person with a boatload of talent can do with even just 3 fabrics- just by creative cutting and placement. Enjoy the quilts, as I am sure you will. Good job passing on the refreshments, which actually allowed you to concentrate more on the beautiful quilts, the lovely home and furnishings.
Ruth, we bought a set of two VTech cordless phones- they were not very pricey and I am pretty happy with them. I like having two- just makes things easier and I know one is always charged. Think we have had them for about 2 or 3 years. We also have an ATT corded phone, that I am not impressed with. The keys stick and its a wall phone- but does not like to stay on the cradle. Dh hates it.
Today was busy- the elementary kids had a half day- so that meant I had to go into work 3 times instead of 2. I did get home earlier- which was nice. In the interim I picked up some rolls (2 dozen) to donate to my church. This Saturday volunteers from my church are going to a wonderful Christian based drug rehabilitation program that is nearby. Once a month, we bring dinner to the residents there- and this Saturday is that day this month. I usually supply something less perishable, so I can shop early. Several years ago, Dd and I went there to help serve and feed the ladies- who are fighting many different addictions. Its such a good program.
Later on I hope to have the energy to pick up the baby afghan....and see what I can do with it. THink I have enough of the directions that I can wing it.....ha ha ha. I am a bear of very little brain.
Dd should be home from college in about an hour or so.....probably her last time home before the end of the semester. It will be good to see her.
Hope Phyl is causing lots of trouble in her play pen...and that Meg got to Knit wits. Ginny
