Celeste I'm glad Bob is okay.I hope you are feeling better today.
Suze if you do Freestyle I think it's very important to watch portions. If I try it again in January I will stick to portion size.I don't know what it feels like to feel satisfied and not full.Is today your last day of work?
I think a big appeal for the new program is not having to track every food. Some people lost very well the first week and the same happened when SP 1st came out.I'm not knocking the new plan by any means b/c it's trying to lean people more to a healthier eating lifestyle. The people on Facebook are saying it's more like SF except you can have potatoes on there.I have never done Core but if and when I try Freestyle I think I would go more towards simply filling b/c I could still eat lean meat besides chicken and not have to use points for it.I made goal on regular SP even if I didn't like it at first and for the rest of the year I'm sticking with that.I will reassess in January.
Good luck to everyone trying Freestyle.

BECKY no - next Friday is, unfortunately. And next Tuesday - Friday will be really busy for me, since grades roll and I try very hard to have letters (academic standing) out by Friday before I leave.

The thing about fruit, SUZE is that you can get in all the vitamins and minerals found in fruit if you eat a wide variety of veggies. All my life I've loved veggies. I do like (not love) a good pineapple (and I CAN eat it in moderation on FODMAP). I don't really like any berries. HATE cantaloupe but like a good crenshaw or honeydew but they're not always easy to pick out. I DO LOVE watermelon but that's the kiss of death for me. Push comes to shove I will eat a Cutie (allowed in moderation on Fodmap). But why force oneself to eat fruit if you eat enough veggies? And the nutrition in veggies comes with a lot fewer calories than fruit. I would really have preferred to fly home on Christmas but Bob's doing something w/ his family that day so no one to pick me up (and the driver that I use here in F.L. will be with his family). Also I didn't want my son to have to leave his family in the midst of Christmas to get me to the airport. But I may regret flying out the next day.
So SUZE if you don't go anywhere: I heard Three Billboards is good and sort of uplifting (you wouldn't think a movie about a murder would be uplifting). RENT MAUDIE (best movie I've seen in years).
Got my kids' stuff packaged and sent UPS. Most stuff I had sent directly to them from Amazon but I had a few things to send. Grocery shopped. It's nice out in that it's sunny and no clouds but it's COLD. I'll probably put on a sweatshirt and do some walking while the sun's still out.

Becky: I think for me it's a VERY fine line between satisfied and full and stuffed. I can feel satisfied w/ a meal but find that in an hour I'm hungry. That's counterproductive. I need to edge more toward FULL but not STUFFED. But GIRL I'm with you. If the only 0 point meats are chicken breast and turkey breast... well I can only eat so much of that. And I don't like 99% ff ground turkey/chicken breast. I'm fine w/ 98% FF ground beef that Tom Thumb sometimes carries.

Just ate an omelette with black beans, 1/8 cup shredded cheddar, topped with salsa and light sour cream. Large and very low points. 😁

I think the one thing I didn’t like about low carb, was no fruit. I’m in heaven eating it now.

Celeste of course you know I like fruit but I don't overeat it.I have decided after the holidays are over I'm going to either do Core or SF and count points for the food I eat not on the list.
Suze dang on not getting off until next Friday.

Wearing my boot and putting some weight on my foot every now and then. Man does my achillies need loosening up! I'll change bandage and treat soon, and see if everything looks ok. Baby steps.

CONNIE since you like beans, I have a quickie easy 0 SP recipe for ya Faux refried beans: 1 can any size pinto beans Dump entire can WITH LIQUID into skillet that you spray w/ whatever nonstick. Heat it up and mash it up w/ potato masher until there's not a lot of completely intact beans. keep simmering until it's smooth and creamy. Add a few TB salsa (depends on size of can of beans as well as how spicy you want it. THE END. BEST non fried refried beans ever.
LOUISE you miss fruit. I miss BEANS (anyone see a THEME of my posts lately?)
BECKY I am going to find my CORE cookbook and maybe go back to CORE after the first of the year. Or at least try SF again. ESPECIALLY since that lets me eat cuts of lean beef and w/o points. I'll save all my points for cheese! Cuz no matter if CORE/SF or this new program, real cheese is a huge points hit.
SUZE you poor baby. If you get bored, I get home on the 26th. You can visit me any time or I'll even come and visit you if you're bored. And I can mock your foot. Your scaly foot.
Got my 7400 steps in. One more time this week. Tomorrow I have 3 parties to go to so it might be hard to get the steps unless I walk to the parties (which I could if I don't wear fancy shoes). I like to have Sunday as my off day but I'll play it by ear.
Slept fairly last night. Bob's doing pretty well today. We had left overs (tiny baked potato w/ the crock pot salsa chicken on top and ALMOST the last of the veggie beef soup). Weird combos but it was delish and Bob really enjoyed it.
OK PEOPLE who have NETFLIX.... DO NOT under any circumstances start to watch Stranger THINGS!!! Bob and I started watching Season 1 after Season 2 came out about 2 months ago. Now I've watched ALL OF THEM. There are no more STRANGER THINGS and season 3 isn't going to be out until 2019!!! say WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAT??? 2019? OMG it's so GOOD. I thought it was a kid's show b/c there are a lot of kids as main characters. It's not. It's well executed Sci-fi that's also very heavy on character development. WATCH IT AT YOUR OWN PERIL b/c it's gonna be a LOOOONG wait until the next episodes.
Taking my depressed, Stranger Things starved self to get ready for bed. NIGHT KIDS. PS: I was really into Game of Thrones, but we started watching this and I don't want to go back to GoT. Just no comparison. Stranger Things is sooooooooooooooo much better.
SANDY so sorry about Katy but it's OK. Death is hard to wrap your head around when you're an adult. Such a final concept for a little one. And what a pisser about the other DGK's bio dad. I hope they weren't too upset. .Or disappointed. They're probably a little used to it now. OK off to get my jammies on

Good going LOUISE !!
CELESTE no worries if your home and I'm home I'll be seeing ya! But you may not be mocking my foot...some TLC, foot file/grater and Aquafor are doing a good jpb. Of course it still looks the shape of sn alien head to me...all swollen at the top and sunken in skinny at the bottom.
I have BBQ meal/office party on Monday and tues is WI day So i figure I'll get started then. I'll have tp be careful Wednesday since we designated that "if you want to bring anything to eat day" and we have some dang good cooks in our office. I'm making a pineapple pecan cheeseball.
The turkey breast is thawed. How do u cook yours?

YAYYYYYYY LOUISE ON YOUR LOSS. SUZE my fave way for a turkey breast was always to mix Lipton Onion soup mix w/ a can of cranberry sauce. But now that's points I won't want to use. But remember, 1/4 cup of Campbell's turkey gravy is only 1 point. (IF I COULD HAVE GRAVY) So maybe i'd just roast it, (spray the skin instead of pat w/ butter), then put it over mashed cauliflower (IF I COULD HAVE CAULIFLOWER), and slather w/ turkey gravy. SOunds damn good to me. Oh and I've always sliced it off in long thin slices like if you go to cracker barrel. But Rachel Ray and Martha showed me a different way. I did it on THX and everyone said it kept the white meat so moist. I'll find a link. This way everyone gets a bit of skin rather than the first slice getting all the skin. But Rachel cut it crosswise in much thicker chunks. This shows like 1/2 in slices. Her's were at least 1 to 1 1/2 inch thick. But essentially you remove the breast from the bones intact. Then cut slices ACROSS like starting at one of the ends and working to the other. Maybe everyone does it that way and I was the only one who didn't. I dunno. www.youtube.com/watch?v=P7eqveep6Kg
