So much going on. After church went over to the other house to help DH clean. Now at home resting before going out to movie. Zachary absolutely LOVES his car. He was surprised, but he kinda figured it out by the end of the night. I had parked DH's car in the drive b/c I can't pull his into the garage (don't want to hit the house). I also let Z go over the the GF's house for the afternoon w/out asking too many questions (that's not normal). I could not look the boy in the face when he got home and asked where his dad was and why he's not home. He's too smart for his own good and looked up his dad's location on Google location (we all have it on our phones). I finally told him to go to his room and stop asking questions. He just laughed and went upstairs. It was so hard.
Then, I got a text from my youngest brother letting me know he & the other brother (also younger than me) will be out of town for the holidays and dad will be alone for the first time. So, I booked a hotel room close to us for a few nights and will go up to Frisco to pick dad up on Fri and take him back home on Tues. I am not comfortable with his driving (he has macular degeneration & is blind in one eye and can't see good out of the other...he had a cornea transplant the year I was pregnant with A...14 yrs ago), especially 3.5 hrs to Austin on that I-35. He's a very happy daddy right now. I love my daddy, but that's about all I'm going to be able to handle.
Need to get some things pulled together for tomorrow. First day not to have to drive the boy to swim practice.

STEPH I'll bet your dad IS happy. Makes me smile.
Turkey breast turned out well! 1. Read directions 2. Did not overcook 3. Cooked in crock pot liner in oven 5. Let it rest 4. Sliced per tips CELESTE posted. Very good (Lulu concurs). I saved the bones with meat on it for navy bean soup. Mom used to make it using turkey and it was yummy.
Did a lot of walking ala boot today. No can do without crutches...its too dang hard on the bottom of my foot! I FEEL like I can start stepping out some without das boot, will talk to doc tomorrow.i do practice putting weight on it just for a few seconds.
Git bills/receipts sorted out, gift ready for party, and 14 gift bags for the office, washed a little, ironed...been a good day.

STEPH, I"d be picking up Dad also were I in your shoes. The last few trips between Austin and Frisco have been hellacious for Bob and I and later for Christopher and Meridith. She's in the far S/W part of Austin so that would add some time but basically it's such a mess.
SUZE I frequently make bean soup w a turkey carcass. I love it. Bob... not so much. Glad it turned out well.
I'm having computer issues. Slow. Signs me out. Then these neverending Windows updates. Finally came in and got my Chromebooks. THe thing is, the layout of the keys is just different. I keep putting my fingers on the wrong keys and constantly have to correct. Also can't play my games bc CHROME won't let you download java. Then after I use my Chromebook, and go back to my laptop, I put my hands in the wrong place for several minutes until I get back to the normal keyboard pattern. The 2 of them LOOK the same but Chromebook has no 10 key, just the numbers at the top which are the numbers I use anyway, but it ever so slightly changes the layout.
Lazy day spent recovering from too many cocktails. I looked at my Stepbet progress today and said "I GIVE UP!!" dang it. $40 down the drain and I was so close.BUt if someone came to my house right now and said "Here's $40, lets go walk a couple of miles I'd LAUGH!" No way

Good morning.
I got off work at 7am and went straight to TJ Max. Got a purse and scarf for my college roommate for Christmas. Now I need to wrap it and get it in the mail. Then stopped by the optical dept and picked up my glasses. Not sure they are going to work out. These frames have those little nose pieces and I'm afraid they are going to eat my nose. May have to change frames if they don't feel more comfy in the next day or so.
I made a lunch date with a lady I met at the last quilt retreat I attended. She's going to come over and check out the quilting studio and then we are heading to Pies and Pints for pizza and/or salads. I chose Thursday as the day because my Life Insurance physical is that morning. I will be able to eat without worrying about the scale!
Friday we are going to my parent's house after Joe gets off work so we can exchange gifts and go out to dinner. Then Saturday morning we will drive to South Carolina to meet Jess and Jaetyn and give them their gifts. Then drive home the same day. I'm planning on stopping at Mary Jo's cloth shop in Gastonia, NC. That place is like Mecca for fabric lovers!
Sunday will be Christmas gift exchange with Joe's side of the family at our house. Will need to figure out food.
And GOOD HEAVENS, my house is a MESS! I need to do some serious picking up/cleaning before people come over. Yikes!
