Keep wondering how Sue is doing on the trip.
WEnt to see The Post yesterday—-OMG it is so well done—-everyone clapped at the end—-such an acting job by Meryl Streep and Tom Hanks did really well also—I couldn’t stand his Dan Brown movies cause I thought his acting was terrible but he did this part very well. Maybe acting with a really good lead actress helps. Anyway really an excellent movie and all Americans should see it to realize the true value and threats to a free press and what that means.
Had breakfast out with cruise BF’s who are in town for one week before heading to FLorida again—we seldom see them any more except for occasional breakfast. They brought us back a cool throw pillow cover—-has three cats on it—very modern and bright—sort of Picasso style—looks neat.
I’d like to start working on the applique for my panel I prepped but I ordered a couple tools that will make it easier and really hate to do it without them. Today would be a good sewing day since DH wants to watch football.

Hi all,
I had today off for MLK. I spent it watching Netflix and knitting. Also did the bike. I am currently reading Lilac Girls. It’s good, but it’s taking forever. Maybe that’s just because I’m distracted.
Hope all is well.

Holly, have you watched The Last Word with Shirley McClain on Netflix? It is a good one. I really thought we would hear from Sue pretty soon—hope all is well. i am packed for Mx.
Went to JJill for their sale yesterday and bought 4 tops and one dress—one top is sort of a dress for leggings—-really beautiful—will wear it to plays. The total cost was 280$ and I paid $125. Overall savings of over 55%—Some were 50 % off and others 30% but I had a $10 reward, and opened a charge which gave me %10 off—was not going to. But the lady told me how to do it—open the charge, charge only $10 of the total on the charge, pay the rest with my SW card for points and pay cash to pay off the bill in the store after the transaction—therefore, the bill will come with zero balance. She said to always do that—they don’t mind. And with the charge card you get % off that paying customers don’t but they don’t care how much you put on it. I could not pass up the deal. Because we go to plays nearly every month and always on the same night, I use my dresses and dressy tops a lot so this will style it up a little again.
Finally got out for a walk yesterday while DH was taking a nap—also went in with Tanzi in our bedroom last night and did about 45 minutes of yoga—our gym was closed for MLK holiday yesterday. My goal is to walk every day this week ==just have to get back into it as the gym alone is not enough—need those steps.
My quilting tools still have not come—getting impatient.
Feel bad for DGD17 as the auditions for Marymount in NYC did not go well—she did not get to do her solo—DD said it was just an off day for her—this is the school that offered her a scholarship. It was not in her top five choices but still it just shakes her confidence. She has about 8 more auditions so hopefully one of these will work. So much pressure.

I'm reading all the posts, can't respond to everything... JoJo, glad that you're gradually improving at least and feeling better with the better breathing Joan, in so impressed by Jordan. Hopefully, DGD will get into a dance program she will like, it is a tough, tough, profession to be in, much like anything in the entertainment realm Holly, ugh so many teeth issues, hope you're not feeling any pain.
So, everyday I get up, have breakfast, sit out on lounge chairs that SO had gotten 2 hrs before, and read selected newspapers from complimentary wifi, through their app. Then I'm doing 6 mi on the treadmill, then back on the lounge and reading a book. Afternoon tea at about 4pm, go back to my room and get ready to go out to one of the bars for a pre dinner drink, then dinner. We don't stay up late for the entertainment, just usually go back to our room. Very relaxed but we have our system down, lol. meeting alot of people, so it's interesting!

Sounds as tho you have a routine established, Sue. Do you get off at each port? Do you do any excursions or just explore?
DH and I fly out at 7 am tomorrow—it is supposed to be rainy every day we are there—hope that is just an afternoon rain and there is sun for snorkeling still. We may be playing a lot of card games if not. All packed now except makeup and CPAP—-DH’s suitcase weighs 46 pounds! Mine is a little smaller so hopefull won’t be that heavy. Not taking a carryon other than my purse which my ipad fits in and my journal.
It is getting cloudy and windy here and supposed to drop in temp—may finally freeze so guess I will wait to plant my onions and seeds till next week when we are back. Had planned to drop them in before we left.
Still hauling DD back and forth to work—she may be allowed to drive by Wednesday so will probably give her our car for the second half of the week.
Had dinner out with my former teacher and Book club friend who moved to MX—she is so amazing—77 years old now and so young. Five of us went to a new vegan restaurant and I had the best burger—OMG, was amazingly good. We talked for three hours and then she and I talked for another hour in the car before she went in to the house where she is staying. So fun to see her again.
I finally saw the scale drop 2 1/2 pounds—-only have 2 more and all Christmas bump up will be gone—-I have been walking again and tracking—just went over and walked DD’s dog so did that and dance and weights class today. Makes such a difference. Also eating a ton of veggie and very little meat but a fairly large amount of fish.
We are supposed to have free wifi in the room so hope to stay up to date here. Hope you all are doing ok—hope you are feeling better Joanne and have your car back. Holly, how are the teeth doing?

Joan congrats on the wt. loss! 2 1/2 lbs is great.
Sue- good to here from you as always but especially since we had heard the sea was rough!
We had 3 in of snow Tues. Nornally wouldn’t be so bad but the temps have been so low that the roads were terrible for about 48 hrs. I was so worried about getting to the infusion center on Thursday to get my iron infusion. They were closed tues. and wed. And opened Thursday at 11:00a.m. My apt was 11:45 a.m. so we got there with no problem. My car is still in the shop (will pick it up Mon. a.m.) and DH’s heater doesn’t work in his. So was cold!
Haven’t really gotten any relief yet from the infusion. Usually takes about 3 weeks.
Seems like DH has been going to the movies about every 4 days or so but I just haven’t felt like going with him
I made carrot soup from DDIL’s recipe that I love Wed. It was so good and made enough for a couple more days for lunch.
Hi Holly! Did you have much snow?

Hi all,
The teeth are doing better. Now that they fixed the upper bridge so that it’s not shifting around, my jaw has not been clenching so much.
We got around 3.5-4 inches. Raleigh-Durham area got 11 inches.
I have been working on these peace dishcloths. Didn’t realize that they would be so popular.
Joan, safe travels.
JoJo, hope you feel better soon and that the iron infusions start to work.
Sue, glad everything is going well with your trip!

Holly - good to hear your teeth are feeling better. Sounds like your snow was about like ours. Glad it is gone. Beautiful today and in 60’s!
Went to church today. Stayed seated for the songs though.
Joan , enjoy your vacation! Didn’t realize you and Sue would be gone at the same time.

Beautiful day here today!
I finished my socks! Hooray!! and like a fool started on another pair. Felft a little better when I read that Knitting is much slower than crocheting - so didn't feel so bad. I will try to make these simple with a straight stitch. The others had a cable stitch
Yesterday I actually took the battery powered blower - it is not as strong as the other but ighter in wt. - and blew the patio and the driveway. A big accomplishment for me since I have not done anything for so long. Today however my chest is hurting so will stay inside. Was great to get outside though.
We went to get my car yesterday - looks good- and then out for lunch. I had soup and salad. Have wanted something warm at lunch for the past couple of weeks. Have eaten a lot of soup.
Bills done so that is always a good feeling.
Holly, I gues you and I are the only ones home! Wish some of the oldies would stop by but I guess they don't know how to find us. It seems more difficult on this site to get new friends. Mayve we should advertise in the General section.

Hi from Rio! We went to Christ the Redeemer yesterday, it was awesome! But it is so hot here, above 100 and very humid. We leave the port tonight and stop at Parity tomorrow then it's 5 days for the trans Atlantic crossing
Yesterday about half the ship disembarked and a new group of people came on board. Half our trip is over and we are not bored at all, the days are flying by. We have met many people, especially at cocktail hour. We have our favorite staff members and they are used to our schedule and what we like and how we like it.
And my eagles are going to the super bowl!!! I get to watch the games on board.

Wow, feeling out of touch since I have been off here for so long! I packed a lot of activity into each day so by the time I got to my ipad right before going to sleep I found myself too tired to post, play a game, or read! Slept every night but one really well—one night I accidentally had black tea at about 9:30 and the caffeine just does not work for me late at night. I had had two cups of chamomile but did not realize the little basket of tea had other types in it—-was so busy chatting that I did not realize I’d had black tea till the second cup—ugh!
I was in the ocean every day but one—Thursday the 24th while you were in Rio , Sue, we took the ferry across to Cozumel—what a ride—high winds and rain—some people looked pretty green getting off! However, after deboarding the sun came out the rest of the day. We bussed to a snorkeling lagoon—I did that for over an hour and the guide taught me to go under the water which I’d always been afraid to try—DH goes down pretty deep and I have always wanted to—-I did not go really deep but now I think I could go down about ten feet or so. We went to a second beach and I snorkeled—was the only one—BF went in for a couple minutes and got out—-I was in over an hour there but had no fins so really got a lot of exercise.
Friday the ocean was pretty rough—I went in up to my waist and then beached for a while=—everyone else was reading—I almost feel guilty cause I can never read on vacation—I am afraid I will miss something! I walked back to the pools and got in the wave pool which is more gentle and just floated around for a bit.
Every morning there I walked down to watch the sunrise on the beach—yesterday (last morning) was stormy and eventually a squall came up and I had to take shelter—but again in about 40 min it was clear and sunny. Would have been another good beach day but we had to shuttle to Cancun at 11 to catch our flight. GOt home at 8:30–the cats were so happy—Tanzi slept right by my head all night and kept purring so loud. Sidney missed DH so much he does not even want him to walk to a different room! We have two months now before DC with DGK’s—goal is to try to get these two to be able to be in the same room again.
JoAnne, I hope your ribs are healing! Holly, how is work going? Do you have any plans for your vacation time this year? Sue I guess you are into your five days at sea now—hope the weather cooperates for you! On THursday the Carribbean was so rough a lot of ships came into Cozumel waters and just hung out for the day. Looked like a lot of big square white boxes floating near the harbor!
