Good evening. No pics of Nanook!! I was out by myself. Angie, we are about 40 minutes from Hartford. We are in western/southern CT. Actually in the Naugatuck Valley. Hartford is the capital of the state. Celeste, I was thinking the challenge of this group is to stay healthy!! Actually I started my new job on Monday, 11/27 and by Wednesday the 29th, I had laryngitis. Lasted 2 weeks. This is how I get colds. This was right after DH was diagnosed with his pneumonia. I don't cough, have a stuffy nose or anything like a normal person, just get a really sore throat and lose my voice. I just hope that all of you getting better soon. Sounds like it may be a form of the flu.
I did get to the store, had dinner and have been working on laundry. I will deChristmas tomorrow.I leave all my snowmen out, so that only leaves all the Santas and the two trees. I put one in my breezeway and one in my den. I am ready for the house to get back to normal. Will do some cleaning and stay indoors tomorrow. Going to be even colder tomorrow than it was today. The temperature not the wind chill is supposed to go down to minus 10 to minus 20 tonight and with the wind chill minus 30 to minus 40. Any extra money now is going to electricity and oil. The price of a gallon of heating oil is hitting $3.00 around here. The oil companies gouge us every winter.
Okay my friends, feel better, sleep well and enjoy your Sunday.

Evening ladies,
Between all of us, we have been sicke for some time now. It's time for everyone to jump on the ALL IS BETTER TRAIN!! Really do hope y'all can get to feeling better. This little thing I have left over if just irritating. It may be allergies now & not related to being sick. Just feel like if I can get one good cough & it come out, but then there it is again.
Both kids had a meet today. Z's high school team went about an hour away & DH & I spent the afternoon w/ A in Bee Caves at her meet. We were there all afternoon. Got home. He grilled burgers & then I'm in pjs ready for bed. Before we left, I got a load of laundry done & the dishwasher going. DH & A got the outside Christmas lights brought in. I'll work on the tree tomorrow. Half our lights went out, so I'll be throwing away most of those away.
Church in the morning. Have to go shopping for jeans for A...again...she will NOT stop growing. I just ordered some groceries online & will pick those up after church. Did not feel like spending an hour of my time there tomorrow.
Oh, I finally got rid of the lousy housekeepping service we've had for years. I'll be going with another, little more expensive, but I'm hopful they'll be better. We shall see. I need to call them next week to set up the first cleaning. DH will have a cow at the costs, but it needs to be done.
Off to bed. Y'all have a great evening.

ANGIE Bob said he'd be right there but but but... his low tire pressure light keeps going off. .... yeah that's it. And I'm coveting your french dip. You can keep the cookies. Give me the sammich!
SUZE OMG yes. Use the dang china. How cool it's in the 65 year old packing! It does NO ONE any good keeping it in the boxes. My mother had my grandmother's Limoge packed away and I don't think she ever used it. Some of it got broken during a move. So what good did it do? I have like 12 plates, 6 salad plates, 4 bread plates. Weird and random stuff. But we DO use it. Not every day but sometimes just for a nice dinner or company. And yup... I've broken a thing or two. Better having half of it broken than ALL of it in a box IMHO. You can get a smile when you use it. That should be on a pillow "LIFE IS SHORT. USE THE GOOD CHINA" (probably already is).
SO my throat is so sore from coughing that I asked bob to go to Sonic and get me a chocolate shake. I don't remember the last time I had a chocolate shake... it's been YEARS. I just asked for a small one. It felt SOOOOOOOOO good on my throat. BUT.... the milk in it made me produce all this YUCK and now I'm back to hacking. But it sure was good. I don't even want to know the points. I've only had 8 points until then but probably not the best use of points. And afterward I remembered. Other than cheese I'm not supposed to have milk. I've been so good for 2 months and now I'm torturing my gut. Sometimes you get what you deserve!! I need a KEEPER dang it.

JT, you would laugh your head off at me if you saw how I bundled up for our weather. God put me in the South for a reason, b/c he knows I cannot do the cold. I would never leave the house. Do not know how y'all do it. I know it's just part of your life, but holy cow!!!

Recipe I made yesterday. Pretty good, I think it needs some more spice, maybe salt. Cooked have been cooked a little crispier, but was done.
Pan Fried Chicken Breasts with Sauteed Mushrooms and Broccoli
1 β package thin sliced chicken breasts from HEB β about ΒΎ pound 2/3 cup roasted garlic Panko from HEB 1 egg Β½ tsp each garlic powder, onion powder, pepper, smoked paprika
1 package sliced mushrooms 4 tsp EVOO Β½ tsp garlic powder
1 package steamable broccoli from HEB Grated Parmesan cheese
Place egg in large dish and beat Mix Panko and seasonings in another dish Dip chicken in egg then Panko mixture, place in pre-heated large frying pan coated with cooking spray Turn as needed until done Remove chicken to plate and keep warm
Steam broccoli in microwave according to package directions
Wipe pan and spray with cooking spray, add EVOO, saute mushrooms, adding garlic powder Add broccoli to pan and mix chopping broccoli as needed
Serve one chicken breast with mushroom-broccoli mixture as a side Top broccoli with 1 tsp grated Parmesan
Makes 4 servings 2 SP per serving (including the Parmesan as long as it is not any more than 1 tsp)

Itβs still cold with lots of coughing here. Iβve been craving spaghetti, but not enough to go get hamburger meat. So excited I found two big patties so Iβll have spaghetti.

Get well vibes to those still not feeling well. Congrats Mary and Sandy on losses. My scale is going the wrong way. I have got to get with it. It is official. March 3rd I am going with a group to Honduras on a Photography trip. This is the same guide I went to Galapagos with in October 2015. He is a great guide and photographer. This trip will focus on using our cameras and processing our pictures. He only takes a max of 8 for this trip. Right now there are only 4 signed up. I have 2 months. I would love to lose maybe 5-8 pounds (would love to lose more than that but being realistic). At this rate it isn't happening. I will keep plugging away. Most days I have been pretty close to eating all my points but others not. I have that Skinny Taste Spinach, Feta and Artichoke Breakfast bake ready to go in the oven. I added from browned Italian Hot Turkey Sausage. Will let you know how it comes out. Even with the sausage it is 3 points. Not much planned for today. Went to church last night. Need to go to the grocery store later. Have a great Sunday. Will check back in later.

Good morning.
My scale was going in the right direction until I got sick. Now it's ugly. The last 3 days I have felt like death. And I have eaten over my points each of those days. Had a soothing bowl of oatmeal last night that clocked in at 13 points with the milk and brown sugar. Also had some extra crunchy peanut butter earlier in the day. Too lazy to cook....just ate it off of a spoon. And my step count is laughable. Exertion brings on coughing fits, so I've been planted on the couch.
Feeling only slightly better today. Have cleaned up the kitchen and put a turkey breast in the crockpot. Did a couple loads of laundry and made the bed. Feel like I have run a marathon. And now DH seems to have it.

Congrats MARY!
I hope those feeling bad start turning around soon. I know being sick wears you out and can be discouraging. Hang in there.

MARY that sound like a really good recipe. Question for those of us who don't have HEB's we probably won't have those thin sliced breasts (I don't think I've seen them). Do you think cutting through a breast in half would work (If you know what I mean). I'd assume that would be thin enough? Or pound the breast? Congrats on the loss! You're rocking it. I rejoined the beginning of December and have missed 2 meeting b/c of being sick, but I was thinking it would be really crowded now for a while.
LOUISE not cold but coughing like crazy here. I did check my pulse oxygen and it's 97 so I'm not worried at this point. If it falls under 95 I'll go to the doctor. But at this point I'll let it run its course. I just wish it would HURRY. Spaghetti sounds good. I think we're having Cuban sandwiches tonight w/ left over sous vide pork tenderloin. Though that means going out and getting swiss cheese. UGH.
TERRY that trip sounds excellent. I am THE WORST photographer. I have no eye when I look thru a lens. I'm a little bit artistic but give me a camera... well I'm just not good w/ technology I guess. And 5-8 lbs in 2 months is a good solid do-able goal! I'm interested in hearing about your bkfst. So once I add artichokes back into my diet I can try it. And since I usually have my "bkfst" or Meal #1 as Sandy and I call it, it's more of a brunch.
CONNIE I know what you mean. Like last night when I felt so AWFUL and my throat was raw from coughing, I asked Bob to get me that sonic shake. I NEVER have shakes. I don't even LOVE them (but it sure felt good last night). At this point I've been eating whatever strikes my fancy and isn't too hard to make. THE GOOD NEWS IS... yesterday was an awful day. I felt like death from the time I got out of bed. Today I feel a LOT better. Still coughing but not achy and worn down. So there IS HOPE! Except you're about a week behind me. But my step count has been awful. 2 days of 5K and mostly around 2.5 to 3.5K. B/c I cough and get clammy.
Today I need to get to WM. I need a few things but especially I need more Nyquil. I've gone thru an entire bottle (which means 12 nights).
Did y'all see in Escondido CALIF (near San Diego) that they've had to set up big like banquet tents to triage the flu patients? They're so crowded w/ patients and they wanted to isolate the flu people that they're in TENTS! Man oh man I'd hate to be working patient care in a tent full of flu people. Talk about a petri dish. But 10% effective? Whoever came up with this flu shot sure did miss the mark. I want my money back. Oh yeah it was medicare. It was free.

Breakfast casserole was good. Using the Turkey Italian hot sausage gave it just a little kick but not too much. DH really liked it too. I cut it into portions and put in refrigerator to have for breakfast this week. Since we ate a late breakfast will have a snack later then early dinner. Making Santa Fe Turkey Stuffed Peppers from Skinny Taste. I bought some cut up fruit at grocery store so probably have that with it. My exercise plan for the week is to do Water Aerobics three times and walk on the treadmill the other two. May also try to walk one day after water aerobics. My incentive to make myself walk is that I have my favorite shows (all three NCISs) downloaded to my Kindle. I tell myself that I can only watch them when I am on the treadmill. Quiet here. Just got back from grocery store. One of the cats napping in my lap. I may nap too.

Just got back from the gym. Treadmill, elliptical, bike...must say that today when I got out of bed I actually felt pretty good. Must have finally got the lactic acid out of the muscles (or something). Sure glad Rick pushed to get us going on this....it can only help for vacation.
You poor sickies....cannot believe how this is just hanging in for you. And now Joe has it, too? Hope you all are resting & on the road to better SOON!
Celeste....I had not heard that the vaccine was only 10% effective...no wonder it is so rampant. Makes a person want to stay in isolation as much as possible. Canβt say Iβm looking forward to airports in a few weeks. Maybe weβll all mask up....?
Terry ...that trip sounds interesting...my camera skills are marginal at best. The breakfast casserole sounds good. I love dishes like that!
Mary...congrats on the nice loss!! Chicken recipe sounds good, too.
JT....found out our friends kids live in East Haddam...not Hartford. My east coast geography is not the best... lol. Have been to NYC but seeing more of it is on my travel / bucket list.
Louise....ready for the game tomorrow night?
Steph...glad you found another cleaning service. If they do a better job it will be worth a little more to decrease your stress.
Becky...thought of you as I did the recumbent bike...easy in the knee!! I liked that! The elliptical...definitely more pressure on knees & hip...but I did 2 rounds for a total of 10 min.
Suze...got your check. I will cash & donate to the local food bank. Howβs the foot today? Dr tomorrow?
It is a balmy 37 here!!! Rick is on the roof....thought he was just checking the chimney, but I have s feeling he is taking down lights. I better go keep an eye on him. Donβt want him taking a header off the eaves!

Angie thanks for asking about my knee.Since the right one has been hurting I have been favoring the left leg so it's starting to hurt now.We ended up going to a friend's house yesterday to try to help her up after she had fallen and I think I aggravated it going over there.Thank goodness her sister & nephew finally talked her into going to ER this afternoon and she is now in the hospital. She may have had a stroke(she had one a few months ago)and she hasn't eaten in a week b/c she's been nauseous and staying in bed.You are doing really well in going to the gym.
Suze you are doing well on Freestyle. You are right. It doesn't matter if there is nobody with you to enjoy the china. You can enjoy it now.
Celeste the shake sounds good but I'm sorry it made you start coughing again.I hope you can get rid of this crud soon.
Don't be concerned about what you eat until you feel better all of those who are still feeling so bad.
Angie that's why I do the recumbent bike instead of the TM.You are rocking the gym.
I hope everyone feels better soon.
