Sandy, glad your trip went well.
Really praying for all of you to get well soon. It has been going on way too long. I know you feel that as well.
Day 3 back, but day 1 with students. Most all of my students are returning, except for 1 class...my mixed 7/8th grade Keyboarding. My new Web Design classes have only 3 students in them....1 student & 2 students....in the 2 sections. That's not going to fly with my dept, so I'm going to just watch and see what happens. It's very stressful when you work with an AP who will NOT listen to the Dept. Chair....aka...me. I got a text this even to "call me" and it was my CTE Manager wanting to know what was going on. I didn't even try to be politically correct or hold my tongue about this AP (not the same AP that gave me trouble last year). So, added stress will be here for the next week or so until things are resolved.
Had one bad day of food choices, but otherwise, all is going well. Making sure I have veggies as sides for dinner. We ate the last of the banana cake tonight. It's a good thing, but that was just too good.
Going to soak in the tub. DH is on a conference call that usually last for over an hour. One more day & then we'll have a busy weekend. Both kids have swim meets on Sat. Night all.

I'm sandy from west Texas- 70 miles west of Abilene 64- retired school teacher after 33 years. live with dh who is retired. Live in country with cow herd. Ds is director of nurses at local hospital n drops Katy Mae - 5 year old off every morning- I homeschool her DDIL a nurse n goes 30 mikes to work at state hospital . Older 2 DGKs attend public school. My mom just passed away n I'm in process of settling her affairs. Inherited 2 farms n I love to check crops n wildlife.

SANDY I was reading your MEAL 2 and thinking "Did she clean out the fridge for odds and ends?" Then I read that you were at the buffet.
OH NOOOOOOOOOOO STEPH I just assumed it was the SAME AP!!
I think I'll get in the shower and get ready for bed EARLY. I have my dentists appointment tomorrow. The lady said I needed to establish myself as a patient first (xrays, cleaning, exam) and then they can put on my crown. I do NOT want them messing around in my mouth w/ my little stump all exposed, I'll tell you that! They're having a good new pt special for $99 so I'm happy to take advantage of it. Just I NEED MY crown put back on first IMHO.
TERRY G/L on the sleep test. I always had trouble sleeping in the sleep labs.
I'll do another nebulizer treatment after the shower. I have this eucalpytus stuff that you spray toward the floor in the shower and the steam brings it up for you to breathe in. I think I need to do that.
Then off to bed. Night kidlets.

Celeste....good luck at the dentist tomorrow. Iโm sure they will be extra careful with your missing crown tooth.
Terry....hope the sleep studies went well. I donโt sleep well at home...I canโt imagine in the sleep lab ๐ณ
Becky....good mantra...let your weight be your guide. If I would think about that each time I grabbed something to eat, I would probably stop myself in my tracks.
Suze....so glad to hear that the foot is BETTER!!! Youโre probably ready to do a happy dance with it!
Steph....always some stress or another isnโt it? Had lunch with retired teacher friends....we all agreed we lived our jobs & had nice careers, but we sure donโt miss all the โstuffโ.
Headed to bed ....after some catnapping in my chair tonight. Good night ๐๐ด

ANGIE sounds like a good trainer! Iโve fallen just under 5K the past couple of days, so I need to work harder at that. Some things have just become bad habits โ those are the things that need extra attention. I made my chart and check off if I have met the goals dailyโฆvisual you know.
BECKY I can see how the 0 point thing can be abused. It could leave a lot of points for foods that have points, but also have extra calories โ than you would be eating too many calories, 0 points or not. Like 0 pt meals and 10 pudding cups, lol. At least in my case, others may not do so.
CELESTE because there are a lot of 0 pt carbs, I can see myself going off the rails on carbs. So I need to be mindful. I agree, it could work like HPLC. I just need to be mindful of the carbs and pick and choose wisely. I may put yesterdayโs food in the Adkins tracker and see what it looks like. I counted every bite and used 18 points total yesterday, but Iโm sure itโs higher on carbs than I probably should. Smirking on the coffee and garlic rub. Yeah, not so much.
SANDY that will be my challenge โ hanging onto the train this weekend. I have lunch outing with the girls tomorrow, lunch out with real estate agent today. You did really well at GC yesterday! WTG.
STEPH I can see why the small classes are not going to work. And donโt even say that the new AP is going to be as much of a challenge as the previous one. Yikes! Sometimes you just have to finish that good stuff out and be done with it. Itโs hard for me to throw away food.
OMG CELESTE NO! I cannot imagine them working in your mouth with the tooth stump exposed. My mouth/tooth was so sensitive and sore yesterday after the work (the temporary was not very temporary and they cut it off in pieces) that I took some extra IB and went to bed early. Itโs going to take a couple days for the sensitivity to abate. If it doesnโt, Iโm getting a root canal. Did you use the eucalyptus? You know I love my Vicks โ I used to have a vaporizer for it, but donโt any longer.
LOUISE have a good day chillinโ.
Iโm heading out at 10:30 to close on a small piece of land Iโm buying, then lunch with agent (and friend โshe is a hoot). Then Iโll finish out the day and go home and do something. I must get to the gym this weekendโฆ. Not sure why Iโm hesitating, although it may be a little of that โall or nothingโ thinking that I am so fond of.

So I put yesterday's meals in the Adkins tracker and this is interesting. 997 Calories, 117NC, 18Fat, 68Pro, 34FIB - I need more calories, and could easily cut down on net carbs but still have had the turkey/bean stew. That's not what got me, it was the empty carbs at breakfast, an extra slice of bread and a SF pudding cup. Add more protein for calories. Hmmmmm

Good morning-Sleep test went well. Actually slept. She had given us something to take to help. We get the results on the 16th. Even though slept pretty good may still have to take a nap later. DH went back to bed when we got home. Other than catching up today not much else on the plan. Waves to all. Have a good day. Will check back later.

ANGIE that was my exact point w/ my sleep study. Look... I don't sleep well at home which is why I'm here. Now you have me attached to all sorts of wires and electrodes and belts, there is a small light on, this is NOT my own bed, you won't let me take a Unisom, and you keep coming in telling me if I don't fall asleep soon you won't have enough DATA to study, b/c I they were kicking everyone out at 6AM!!! The first time I had the sleep study, around 4AM, with them LITERALLY coming in every 30 min saying "You need to fall asleep", I sat up, pulled off all my wires and said "SO LONG SISTAH!!" I contacted my doctor and the head of the sleep labs at corporate level as well as my insurance company to complain. After that they were willing to "work with me" and let me take Unisom and I didn't have to finish the study until 9AM. MUCH better.
LOUISE how are you feeling lung wise? Any improvement? I did sleep better last night, only waking 1 time coughing like a fool. I guess that's progress.
SUZE I'm concerned about myself and 0 point foods. Like that 0 point Tuscan Chicken Stew. I can EASILY have 2 bowls of it. Sure it's still 0 points but, that's twice as many calories as suggested. But we'll see ... when and if I get there. For the first time in a while I had tummy issues last night. Was it the onions? Or b/c I was constipated and had Miralax or both? I'm hoping it was the Miralax. Which DID alleviate the other issue. I think the eucalyptus helped temporarily anyway. Then I vicks'd myself up. The feet thing people recommend? It does NOTHING for me, but the neck and chest... well at least it makes me THINK I feel better. I've actually been thinking about getting a Vaporizer and doing VICKS. I did that decades ago but I don't have a vaporizer any more. Is your land near where you live? And LOL on small. My idea of small is 55' x 155 ' (what I have now). You're talking ACREAGE. Even in Calif, when I had half an acre, my property was considered to be HUGE. YOU DAMN COUNTRY GIRLS!!
TERRY you're lucky that they actually GAVE you something to help you sleep. Glad it went well. Did they make you go home at the crack of damn dawn?
OK I need to have some bkfst and get ready for the dentist. UGH, I DO NOT love me some dentist.

Good morning everyone.
I'm feeling like ๐ฉ. My fever was over 100 last night about an hour before bed. DH got me some NyQuil and I went to bed at 9:30. Didn't get out of bed this morning till 10:30. Of course, I was hacking and blowing my nose off and on all night. I may declare this a pajama day and just lay on the couch all day. Felt light headed when I first got up. I think it was low blood sugar. Ate 2 oranges and felt better.

CELESTE you should try the vaporizer with Vicks. I've never tried/don't get the feet thing, but if I slather it on my chest it does help break up whatever is going on. I bought 4.6 acres, a little less than 10 miles from where I am now. Small hay meadow with a creek and trees (needs some trees cleaned out) surrounded by farm land.
CONNIE that sounds like a pj day for sure! Feel better.
I thought my sleep study was a joke. Never again.

Well, i feel good about myself. Despite probably not getting the best sleep I went to the Y and walked on the treadmill. For the day I have a little over 5,000 steps and 35 minutes of activity. I am setting my goals low then will build up. I am also OP for the 3rd day. Hoping it ill show on the scale. Connie, hope you get better. Talking it easy is probably the best thing right now. Louise good for you chilling too. Celeste, yes we were out at the crack of dawn. Got home about 6. DH went to bed. I may take a nap later. Still need to finish some wash. Stopped at the store on the way home. Found this breakfast recipe on Skinny taste: www.skinnytaste.com/spinach-artichoke-and-feta-breakfast Going to make it to have for breakfast. Only 1 point. Suggestions were to add some meat. Jennie-o Turkey Sausage is only 4 points for a link. This makes 8 servings so even if I add two links (taken out of casings and browned) that would only add another point per serving. I have some in the freezer that i am going to defrost.
