Happy Monday Crafters!!!!
Gee, a quick glance at the calendar and we are into February in a few days. Yes, Time flies!
Ruth, many thanks for the recipe. I love biscuits- and have yet to find a recipe that makes a good one. Ds ends up buying those pills bury things.....would love to be able to make something that tastes really good. Hope those cranberries did not set off any trouble for you. And if I did not get myself set up for that class next Saturday, I would probably forget something and regret that I did not pack early. I still have the rest of the week to decide if I want to purchase or bring some of the optional items they asked for (sewing aids which I can complete the project without).
Have a great day Ginny

Happy Monday and new week to you too, Ginny and to the others also
Dh had said he wanted to go out and shop today but then he ended up being up all night so we'll probably go tomorrow so I'll get all the birthday things wrapped and packed and mail that while out.I do need to quietly go into the bedroom to get the candy I'm going to put in the little VAlentine Day treat bags I made. I have the presents together now comes the wrapping. I'm happy to stay home and get some things done and just sit and crochet.
Yes, before we know it, God willing, it will be approaching Christmas again. Time just goes by fast.
Have a great day and will see you later.

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today Ruth - Thanks for the biscuit recipe, your food sounds good. That recipe is similar to several I have for biscuits and I really want to try them. I worry about making them and eating them all myself, so when I do make them I'm going to divide the recipe into fourths and just make a few biscuits. I guess I could try freezing them too. Hope you were able to get your Valentine's bags made up. Ginny - Hope work wasn't too bad today. I always make up a list of what I need to take to a class and then check off each item when I'm packing it up to go - a few days before the class. I'm worried I'll forget too. Hope you are able to get that done. I haven't done any crocheting or quilting in a few months. I don't know when I'll get back to either of those. I look at my projects every day but don't pick them up to work on them. I hope I'll get back to them someday because they did provide a lot of enjoyment for me. I worked on my taxes today so I can get them mailed this week. I don't care for all the e-filing stuff, so I still take mine to the post office and mail them by certified mail. It was a bit wet and cold here today and we might get a bit of snow tonight or tomorrow, but not very much. Take care everyone!

hi crafters, I spent the weekend getting stuff ready for today's sit and sew. did cutting and getting ready for today's sit and sew. I made some quilt blocks a couple of years ago and had to straighten them out. boy were they cut and sewed crooked. been easier to start a new. hard to do when you don't have that fabric anymore.
I got my coat Friday afternoon. it was marked down to 49.00 from199. so with the gift card it cost me 2,72 cents. I had to get a xl as a large would not close for me.
well girls I am goin to soak in the tub and get my jammies on. phyl

Good evening!
Phyl- good to hear from you. Wow, you spent SO very much on that coat! ha ha ha. Your patience has paid off- what a nice bargain. Wear it in good health. How nice to see how much you have improved over the years at quilting! That is just how it all goes- we have to start out somewhere and learn as we do more and more projects.
CJ- well a year ago, you were doing an amazing amount of quilting- completing quilt tops in what seemed like minutes. At that same time, I was lucky if I got 10 minutes of crafting done in a week- most of my crafting was what you are doing now, looking at patterns, attending quilt shows, getting organized. And its ok- right now you are in a season of restoring your creative juices and getting ideas. When its time and you are ready, you will be back to making a lovely project of your choice. We all need to take a breather from time to time.
Ruth were you able to get that candy packed without Dh hearing what you were doing? Sorry he did not sleep well- which kept you from going out. Were you able to crochet at all today?
Meg, how are you doing? When do you pick. Up your new glasses?
Long day for me- Mondays always are. Hope everyone has a good evening. G

CJ, you are very organized also. It would be very frustrating to get to a class and find that you didn't have something that was essential. And congrats on getting your tax done. I should get busy and do mine I do it online and I keep thinking that I want to wait till the last minute because I always have to pay and I want to keep my money as long as possible but then I remember that I can do it online and there is an option to have the money you owe sent on a date you pick in advance. The only bad part of that is that I don't have a printer so can't print out my return. I don't know how necessary it is to do that but I'd sure like to.
CJ, also what Ginny said is so true. And you will get back to it when you're ready . Phyl, it's so good to see you again. you probably didn't see it but a couple days ago I posted wondering when your hip surgery is.And yes, waiting sure paid off. Getting a$200 coat for $49 is amazing/ I don't have a particular coast in mind but I'm waiting for good sales.I got a good deal on spring jackets so back in the fall so now I'm looking for one on winter coats or jackets.
Yes I did get all treat bags filled and the presents wrapped and packed up.The children will be happy. And I was able to do a bit of crocheting and do a few other things so I feel as though today was a successful one I will do more crocheting this evening as it is only not even 7:30 here yet. I hope to get to walmart this week because there are some things I'd like to look for. But if I don't get there this week I'll get there next week probably.
Ginny, yes I'm sure that your Monday's are very busy. It's bad enough that Monday is a day back after a weekend but then they usually involve more work also.
And I do hope that if any of you make the biscuits that they turn out as good for you as they did for me. Dh even commented on how good they were and ate a bunch of them this morning with butter and honey.
Have a good night all and get a good rest. Maybe Meg will stop in later. I'll check back to see.
Going shopping tomorrow so probably won't be posting till later. See you then

Hi everyone, I had trouble with Pro Boards yesterday and I gave up trying to post. So I hope I can complete my post today. I have been staying home the last few days. I have been knitting and the b/blanket is finished. I have started another b/blanket which I am crocheting. I get in trouble with the ends and I am trying to figure out what I am doing and I just might rip it out and start over. The beginning and endings of the rows are the only thing I have a problem with when I crochet. I guess I need Ruth here to help me. But since we can't get together I will go to U Tube.
Ginny, many thanks for getting us on the board for another week. The older I get the faster the time goes by and I seem to get nothing done.
Ruth , I went back and looked at your biscuit recipe and I might give it a try when I am in the mood to bake. I like biscuits and scones. So you are getting in the mood for Christmas. I haven't fully recovered from last Christmas.
cj, I hope you get back into the mood to do some crafting. You did do a lot and I can understand your need to take a break. You are always welcome here whether you are crafting or not. I have had some long breaks over the years. Good for you preparing your taxes. I am going to do mine mid Feb. We had wet cold weather over the weekend. I feel the cold more than my DGD so we are always at odds over the thermostat. Hope you get some warm sunny days. noticed some daffodils toda but haven't noticed any in my yard yet.
Phyl. I hope you had fun at sit and sew. I am glad you got your new coat I bet you look great in it.
Keep well and sleep well.

Meg, I did miss you last night after all. I guess I didn't check in late enough. I'm glad you're doing ok and it's great you got the blanket done. It's always such a good feeling to finish something completely. I'm always colder than my dh. Now he claims it's because I'm too thin. I keep reminding him that I was always cold when I was fat too.
Sometimes the edges in crochet are hard to figure out. Some people use the same term to mean different things. For some the "first stitch" is the same stitch as the turning chain and for some it's the next one. Usually when they say the chain doesn't count as a stitch it means you need to start your row in the same one as the turning chain. The last stitch is very often hard to see and hard to tell if it's really a stitch. So all those things can throw off your edges.
We did go out today. I was disappointed to find out that they don't have a post office substation at the grocery store anymore. So now we have to drive to a small PO in one of our small "suburbs" which is always full and very busy, or else drive clear over to the other side of town.So now it will be a challege to organize our trips so that we can do our banking, stop at the tiny library and go to the post office all on the same day since they're on that same street. We normally do all our banking online but about every three months dh likes to stop in at his bank and the tiny library will get books for you from the main library so that might work.
We got home and I put things away and did a few other things and am now ready to settle in and crochet. There's cleaning I could do but I'm putting it off. I'll make a list..my favorite thing to do.

Good evening!
Ruth, so glad you were able to get all th treat bags filled, and the presents wrapped and all set to send. That feels so good to check that off your list- and to know that you are ready to ship when you get the chance to. Sounds like you enjoy your monthly pilgrimage to the Walmart also- Walmart is a love hate relationship. I love it cause they have almost everything....of course the big business aspect of it Of course, they do sell yarn....ha ha ha ha
Meg- I had big trouble with proboards earlier, had tp open it in another browser as it seemed as though using google for it was a problem. WHat have you been knitting? Yes, we need Ruth to straighten out all our crochetting woes. The. I hope you have been staying home becasue you want to, and that you feel well.
Another long day-baby sat DGS. He was pretty good though- I took him to the park again- it was lightly snowing and we had a lot of fun being the only ones there in the park. In my PJs already- my IBS is acting up again so being comfortable is the right thing to do. Going to watch some TV with Dh and crochet.

I wasn't clear on that at all. I meant to say that we did drive to the small post office and it was crowded as usual but I did get the package mailed. Since I got home the only crafting I got done is to carry by yarn upstairs and then back down.IN between I backed some package cinnamon rolls and now I know for sure why I never buy them. Yes the are a lot of work to make but would be well worth it when compared to these store ones. These are the ones where you hit the tube with a spoon and the pop always causes you to jump even though you know it's coming. It's been a long time since I made something from one of these tubes. I also baked the ham we bought and also made a meatloaf. So food is done for a few days again because I made those scalloped potatoes yesterday which will go nicely with the ham and I made the mashed potatoes that I aways put cream cheese in because then you can reheat and they're just like newly made so that will go nicely with the meatloaf.
NOW for crocheting
Ginny good to hear you were able to take your dgs to the park again which gave both of you some fun exercise. He will sleep well for his parents tonight.

Hi everyone, I didn't do much today. I made a fast trip to the store and then picked Devin up and now I am home for the evening. I did work on my b/blanket trying to figure out what I am doing. I just finished an afghan recently using this pattern and I some how managed to get the edges straight. I think I will start knitting another b/blanket so that I can knit when I get tired of crocheting I listen to Devin reading aloud because he doesn't like to read. But we found him a book he likes so I craft and he reads to me.
Phyl, I love your coat bargin. Don't you love getting a bargin like that.
Ginny, I expect to hear that my glasses are ready. I had a problem with PBs for a couple of days. I didn't have a problem else where but every time I went to PBs I got shut down. Seems to be ok now. Sorry your IBS is acting up, hope you feel better soon.
Ruth, Sorry you have to go out of your way to do your posting. You do a lot of posting so you need somewhere more convenient.
cj, hope you are keeping busy.
I have to go but I will try and post later or maybe tomorrow.

Great to see you Meg. Tonight I did manage to come back and see your post. I'm sure you'll do fine with that blanket. As you said, you did one before and you'll get it again.
Ginny, I meant to say I'm sorry your IBS still isn't under control. It's a miserable thing and hard to keep under control. It just seems to flare up sometimes for no reason.
I did work a little on my crocheting but started yet another thing even though I don't have the one done I was working on two days ago.I get anxious for it to be done and get tired of working on the current one so start another. I don't mind having a few in progress as long as they don't stay that way too long.the ones I started tonight are bath poufs for ddil. She makes her own soap and various other things so bath poufs are ideal for her. I made her soap sacks last year. She'd planned on selling her products so I was thinking of making a bunch of soap sacks for her so she could sell sets if she wanted or her customers wanted them with the soap but she got busy with other things and doesn't sell after all but the family still uses them. These bath poufs don't take long at all...maybe an hour at most for one pouf...takes me longer because I start and stop but I think I'll make two tonight and that will be it for those for now and on to the other things I'm going to make for her.I was going to make her a nice thing that looks kind of like a booklet which you open and one side is for the travel size baby wipes and the other side for a diaper. Good to use for short trips rather than take the whole diaper bag however I was looking in the store today and they don't seem to sell that type of travel baby wipe container anymore that fits into that "book" so to plan B...or C...or D.I want to make her a few things one of which I think will be a nice hat I saw a pattern for the other day.
Well there I go rambling again so back to work.

Nice to see Meg checking in...hope you hear that those glasses are ready!
Ruth you are amazing.....love how you are making bath poufs for your DDIL.
No crochetting last night, just too tired, which I get when my IBS is flaring up. So far today is a good day- will get to some hooking tonight. G

Ginny, I'm glad to hear that you're feeling better and IBS is calming down
We didn't get to Walmart yesterday so it's been quite awhile since we've been there but there are several things I would like to look at there including.....well you know. I esp want to look at the cotton yarns as in the sugar and Cream or Peaches and cream. They rarely have nice colors but I'm hoping they have some esp the cones because their price has always been way lower than what you can get online.I do need to get out some of the ones I bought at I believe it was Herrschners.
I better go check on dh. Haven't heard a peep out of him in awhile

Hello Everyone Ginny - Hope you are feeling better today. Ruth - Glad you were able to get to the post office. Your new projects sound interesting. Meg - That's nice that Devin reads to you while you're crafting, hopefully it's helping his reading. It's cold here today, but sunny. I went out earlier and ran errands and mailed my taxes. Now I don't need to go out again for awhile. I'm happy to stay in, the traffic is so bad and I don't enjoy being on the highway with all the trucks that are out on the weekdays. Take care and have a great day!
