Hey all. Angie, you keep that snow out there. Talk is for tomorrow mixed with rain. We actually had a decent, but cool day today. Had some sun an @ 45 but very windy. Felt like 35. My gosh, it's almost May!!
Hey, need my sunglasses as someones halo is glowing!!! You can come purge my house!! DH and I have so much to clean out of here. It's going to take us months when we get serious and do it.
Connie, congrats on the maintain. That is a plus to not have a gain. Prayers for Mom....hope she recovers quickly. Too bad she will need surgery. Doctor doesn't think I will need any.
I seem to have less swelling today. Am able to move my fingers more and have a little more room between me and the cast. Sad that I am getting better at doing things one handed too. I'll be a pro by the time I lose this thing! Didn't sleep too badly last night. Actually didn't use a pillow under the arm and did better without it. We shall see tonight. I haven't done too much walking as I feel very off balance with the weight of the cast. As I get more used to it, I;m hoping to get more steps.
Okay, happy Thursday. Night....

BECKY yesterday I did great on snacks. I just had one. It started around 7PM and ended after midnite!! UGH CONNIE. Is your mom able to bear weight on it yet? I think you said she couldn't stand on it a couple of days ago. That's what my injury was. Torn ACL and medial meniscus and cracked patella w/ bone bruises where the head of my femur hit the head of my fibula. Of course I was a whole lot younger than she when it happened (early 50's). SUZE Turner Poole sounds so country. But in a good way. Like he could be the hero in a romance taking place on the windswept plains of Texas. Turner Poole is leading his horse (who has thrown a shoe) up a wooded pathway and he comes across a young newly widowed ranch owner. Her name is Suzie G. Moody. She's stubborn, strong willed and independent, but needs help or else she's going to lose the ranch to the evil cattle baron, Conrad Bastone. Turner Poole was on his way to New Mexico to do some mining on a small claim left to him by his good for nothing father, but since his horse, Gonad, threw a shoe, he needs to fix that before going further. Since he's only a mile from Suzie's ranch, the Triple Bar S, he walks up to her small, but homey cabin, knocks on her door. She immediately is drawn to his rugged good looks and quiet sexy manliness, but her heart is still mending from her recent widowhood. (Her husband died yesterday). She reluctantly lets Turner enter her home so he can use her barn to shoe his horse. He sees that her barn door is off the hinges so he fixes that and cuts down some trees and bushes along her fence line. Suzzy makes up a big steaming pot of the best stew Turner has EVER set fork to. They sit down to eat. Turner takes off his hat, says grace, as the sky rapidly darkens.... THEN.... suddenly, without warning, a quick moving tornado tears a destructive path through the Triple Bar S. When, what seems like HOURS but is barely minutes, the storm blows over, Turner's horse, Gonad is injured from a lethal shard of flying wood, and in no shape to travel; and Laurel's barn is barely holding on. She cries. "OMG NO!! I'll never get the money to fix it. Conrad Bastone might just as well buy me out for the pittance he offered me. I have no choice!" Poole holds Suzzie to comfort her. He fixes her barn and Gonad heals. They have sex. They get married and have sex again. They rename the ranch "Triple Bar S, Rocking P". Suzzie gets bit by a tick and Turner nurses her back to health. They have sex again. THE END. Suzanne G. Poole. Catchy!!! OMG ANGIE on the nursing text books. DO NOT tell me you still had your nurse's cap!!! JT YES be careful if you're off kilter due to the cast. You do NOT need to fall again!! I've been very OP: 6,500 steps... YUP (I'm at 7,555 at the moment) no snacking after midnite.... I was a bit sketchy on that last night. 5 F&V. Yes 4 V and 1 F I'm doing great on points. I feel more in control today. Funny how it takes so little to derail me such as that Hershey's candy last night. I'm glad I was able to rein it in before it took me to another planet. Planet PIG OUT. Good night all y'all.

CELESTE- I can tell you have been an avid reader of the trashy romance novel. If I were to write one, my hero would be Devin Sloan. Named after a guy I went to high school with. He was a year ahead of me and the pitcher for the baseball team. Not a heartthrob, but I always thought he had the coolest name I'd ever heard.
SUZE- brings whole new meaning to the term "Poole boy". Hmmmmm

hahaha @ your cigarette, SUZE!!
CONNIE Devin Sloan works for me. I've always liked the name Sloan and I wish I were named that. LOL @ Poole Boy.
SANDY!! I know... Tom Selleck can star as Turner Poole. I couldn't live w/o my Keurig! I'll probably never go back. SANDY you don't have Facebook but Kristin Polito has RA and I remember it being a terribly painful and debilitating issue for her esp when it "flared up." But I've been following her on FB. She went on an anti-inflammatory diet for Hashimoto's Thyroiditis. She doesn't have that but she used it as the basis for her anti-inflammatory. OMG she is like a new person!! To the point that she's thinking of starting a business kind of like those other meal delivery systems like Plated or Blue Apron except this one will deliver foods avoiding the inflammatory foods.
LOUISE did you get your car back? I can't remember.
ANGIE I'm surprised anyone knows what a nursing cap is any more since it's been decades since anyone wore one.
Allergies galore today. UGH. I need to go to the store. But I'll sneeze all the way there.

CONNIE oooohhh Devin Sloan is a good name!
SANDY I don’t feel my day was great eating-wise, I followed the NoS plan, just didn’t feel like I was satisfied with my choices or that I was truly hungry when I ate. My gym time is sorely lacking this week as well. I’m trying not to stress about it though, and let it go and just pick up the pace asap. I was thinking about Dale last night – wondering how he was feeling.
LOUISE good to see you – what’s on your plate for today?
ANGIE I was also wondering how Rick was doing…
Waving to all…better get to it.
No Sweets, Snacks or Seconds 10K steps x 7 days Min 48 oz H20 per day 12 flights x 5 days 180 min exercise per week

Celeste....funny thing about the nursing cap....I wore one only while in school....then I landed the rest of my career in the OR so that was the end of that! But it was a rite of passage in the nursing program....and getting to add a stripe each year was a big deal, too. First year...no stripe. 2nd yr, one thin stripe, 3rd year... 2 stripes. Grad ...one wider stripe. And the “glue” to hold them on? KY !!! Oh my! I am an old-school nurse! And I did like the professional look. Sometimes today you can’t tell an RN from any other staff member. I don’t mind smite casual look and totally understand the wearing of scrubs...no argument there....but look and act professionally, please.
Suze ... thanks for inquiring. My in house pool / cabana / yard boy is doing well! Chomping at the bit to get some yard & garden weather. Next dr appt is the end of May. Feels good, improved stamina, sleeps about as well as the rest of us...lol. Going to the gym has been positive.
We ran a few errands & went to the gym earlier. Back to decluttering...need to keep at it while i’m In the mood to pitch stuff.

Good morning.
I'm up early because I just dropped off my quilt at the quilt show. They will judge them May 2nd and 3rd and will notify us by mail if we are juried into the show and if we have won an award. If you win, they don't reveal what your award is until the awards ceremony on May 25. So will have at least 2 weeks to keep my fingers crossed. If I don't win, I will be ok knowing that I did my best work. I WOULD be disappointed if it wasn't accepted to hang at the show, though. Wish me luck!
CELESTE- I saw that Kristin quit her job and is doing the meal prep business full time. What a scary proposition! But she obviously believes in it. And the results speak for themselves. I'm glad for her.
My allergies are AWFUL today. Stuffy nose and puffy eyes. Flowering trees are going NUTS right now. It's lovely, but killing me.
Tonight at work should be interesting. My regular pharmacist partner that works till 11pm has taken the rest of the week off to go on a fishing trip. The gal that is filling in is the one who makes the schedule. She also uses the schedule as a weapon whenever possible. She resents having to fill in, so she will probably only work an 8 hour shift instead of Darrell's 11 hour shift. This most likely means that she will leave at 8pm when I arrive. It's tough to do the whole 12 hour shift with no overlap. And I get her Friday, too. Also tonight, they are having scheduled computer maintenance from 11pm till 3am. So there will be a flurry of activity leading up to it, then nothing, then we will get slammed again. Can you tell how much I'm looking forward to it?

ANGIE we got 1 stripe when we graduated. My first job was w/ the VA on a spinal cord injury ward and we had to wear our caps. Hated it.
G/L CONNIE And we have no doubt you'll 'hang at the show' and will most likely get an award. Just sayin'. I hope the evening/night goes better than anticipated.
I went grocery shopping at WM. I have to say our new WM continues to be an exemplary store as far as cleanliness, inventory and the courtesy of the workers. They should teach courtesy and efficiency to the DAMN SOCIAL SECURITY workers in McKinney.
Guess I best take a walk around the neighborhood while the weather is perfect (except the wind has once again kicked up). But sunny and low 60's. Perfect. Saturday we have a 90% chance of rain. Probably won't do much walking then. I mean it's hard to get in 7,000 steps w/o ever leaving the house.
SOOOOOOOOOOO while I was in WM I saw this really HIDEOUS housecoat/housedress/duster. I mean it's a weird blue w/ pinapples and it buttons up the front. Bob and I laugh how both our mothers essentially LIVED in housecoats from their 50's on. GROSS. I told him if he ever comes home and I'm in a house dress, it means I've given up. SO I bought one (extra big and so Bob can give it to his mother if she wants it), and when he gets home, my plan is to be wearing it and bedroom slippers (which I will have to borrow from HIS closet as I don't know that I have any). Maybe put some velcro rollers in my hair?
SO I have 2 questions: Any of you wear housecoats? Those light cotton button/snap front dresses.
How many of you make your bed most every day? I don't. Luckily you can't see my bed from any other room. But I make a nest w/ 7 pillows and I'm not re-arranging that every day to make my bed. So I pull up my duvet. It looks like someone or maybe even 2 someones are asleep in my bed under the covers.

No housecoats here. But I DO love my yoga pants with an oversized sweatshirt. I also am fond of my pajamas topped with a bathrobe. And I LOVE house slippers. My feet freeze so always need something on them.
I do make my bed every day. It's a habit I picked up about 5 years ago when I realized that it literally took only 3 minutes to do. And as my mom always said...your bed takes up the largest part of your bedroom, so even if the rest of the room is messy, make your bed and it will look clean. Love that logic. And when things look clean at my house, my stress level plummets.

CONNIE crossing everything and sending up a prayer! Good luck. That would be a very cool win. Try to have a good night at work, despite the glitches and attitude from others.
CELESTE you and BOB make such a cute hippie couple. Can I borrow your wig for next year? Or maybe Bob’s LOL. Oh that’s too funny on WM teaching SS. I have to say though that the pick-up personnel at our WM are fabulous. I have not met one that is not friendly and just…nice. And I try to go online and do the surveys, and make note of their service. ROLFMAO – Bob is going to faint. Yes, I have a housecoat for summer but I can’t remember when I wore it last – and it’s sort of a cute pattern, seersucker I think. I have a pretty spa/heavy waffle weave robe for winter, but it’s so dang heavy! This year I bought a zip up lighter-weight, ¾ length, ¾ sleeve robe I like better. Most of the time I run around in my yoga pants or pj pants and sweat shirt or t-shirt depending on the time of the year. I probably make my bed 5/7 days.
Funny CONNIE - I have 3 pair of slippers but am almost always barefoot. Once in a while in winter I'll put on footies.
For lunch I had a shrimp Dos Laredos special. Jumbo shrimp sautéed with green pepper and onion, served with rice and a little queso sauce. It’s very good, what I wanted, and that’s what the NoS guy says to eat, so I did.
