Anyone is welcome to join the SMART weight loss goals.
Specific Measurable Actionable Realistic Time limited
You can pick as many or as few goals as you like. They can be daily, weekly or monthly. It's up to each individual. Keep us posted on how you're doing w/ the goals and how/if it's showing up on the scale!
AND if you aren't into goals... now or ever... no big deal. Friendship, accountability and support... they don't HAVE to have goals.Β
Lastly if you have goals that aren't related to weight loss, that works too. Like "making me time".

THEM BROWS WENT THAT'A'WAY>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>.
I asked Bob today if he thought MAYBE he had himself all worked up b/c he didn't want to see his mother and I ASSUMED he'd get prickly but he didn't. He just said "I don't THINK that's it."
I also suggested, since he has this very expensive Cologuard Test sitting in my dang UTILITY room if he's PLEASE crap in the enclosed bucket and SEND the dang thing. His doctor wants him to do a colonoscopy (almost 59 and he's never had one), but said to AT LEAST do the Cologuard. He's on my LAST DAMN NERVE? Can ya tell? I have already raised my CHILDREN.
Off to bed. I had a light dinner b/c I had a big lunch so I'll have a bedtime mini-meal right now and then I'll hit the bed.
Ciao bambinas.

SANDY sounds like a nice day with your family yesterday. Was it windy for t-ball?
Not a lot on my plate today...work and workout. A young man that does yard work is supposed to stop by this afternoon, we shall see. At this point I just need some final clean up, a few smallish limbs taken out, and haul away brush/limbs.
Enjoy the day!

LOUISE congrats on the sleep! Mine was better than normal but not all that great. Ambien just makes me nutsy though. I never found a sleeping pill that really worked for me.
SANDY I think it will be a bit warmer today bc at the moment our wind is merely a breeze.
SUZE I hope the guy shows up.
I feel as if I have something else I have to do, but my calendar only shows Bunco at 6 so if I don't write it down it's not going to happen.
So at first I was wildly successful with meeting my goals but the past week was VERY sporadic and a struggle which I met w/ limited success. I'm going to recommit to my goals this week. Really work it!
GOALS for Mon-Mon: 6.5K steps x5 days (up 500 from last week. This was the thing I was least successful in and so I made it x5 to give myself a grace day or 2) 5 F&V (I always seem to reach it but I'm still having to really WORK at it No eating after FINAL MEAL (usually around 11ish) I was so so on this but when meal 3 was a legit meal (planned and balanced) I did better. If meal #3 was only a snack, that snack never seemed to end until I fell asleep.
Well it's gorgeous out there so NO EXCUSES on my steps, i tell ya!! Later gators. PS: Bob's miraculous cure continues. He went to work this morning.

I got the NO S diet book. First let me say that EVERYTHING you need is on the free website. There is no magic formula included in the book. It mostly explains why the inventor came up with the diet. It has some quotes and statistics about obesity etc but no other "to do list".
The author addresses something I was thinking about. If I can eat ANYTHING I want as long as it's on the No S formula. But theoretically I could fill a plate w/ a big ribeye steak and a massive baked potato w/ sour cream and chives. But there's no room left on that SINGLE plate for say broccoli. And since you're supposed to eat what you want, that's what I'd want. (OK eventually I would crave F&V even if it's at the very next meal OR the very next MONTH, but eventually I would) So what about "balanced" diets and healthy foods if eating what I want right now isn't so balanced and nutritionally complete?
This guy IMHO hits the nail right on the head: The single best thing an overweight person can do for their health is to LOSE WEIGHT (and he feels his diet results in SLOW weight loss, not unhealthy fast loss). So OK I buy that about losing weight being the best thing for my health. But what about vitamins and minerals and antioxidants and fiber and and and ... so this is what he said that made me chuckle: You have no business worrying about antioxidants when you're 50 pounds overweight. WOW. True dat!

Sandy It sounds like you and your family had fun yesterday.I'm sure it was a special time for her and you.
Celeste I couldn't take Ambien for very long and I asked my psychiatrist to not ever prescribe it again. It left me feeling so groggy until lunch it seemed like.My Trazadone isn't the best but it does help some. Our wind picked up just before I walked and it was 80 degrees.I walked in my skort and flip flops(shirt was optional)and I was still hot when I got home so I turned on the ceiling fan & a small oscillating fan.Suddenly I felt cool so I put my jeans back on and turned off the fans.LOL on not worrying about antioxidents when you want to lose 50 lbs.You do need enough fiber though. At least I do.Plus it seems like I need plenty of food.
I walked to Amigo's driveway and thought I saw something black under the van parked at their house and it was too hot for him to walk so I waved and it must have not been him b/c he didn't follow me thank goodness. He didn't need to walk on that hot pavement.Anyway I walked 40 minutes and rode the bike for 20 minutes. My legs hurt and I'm tired.Only thing left for exercise is 250 steps/hr the next 3 hours.
I hope everyone is having a good day.
Celeste Meredith looks awesome.

Hello all!
Went to the gym early this morning...felt good to get a workout in after missing three days.
Met retired teacher friends for lunch....fun for the most oatt, but a couple of them are such negative nellies....give me the positive peeps!
Nothing else exciting here....
Taking a day off from goals....not having a free for all...just donβt want to think about it. Anyone else just get tired of having to think about it ALL.THE.TIME?!? Maybe the negative nellies rubbed off on me π―

Angie You are definitely not a negative Nelly.I have been getting tired of tracking and thinking about what I need to be eating today.May take a meal or a day off from tracking this week.I have tried Intuitive Eating once but I wasn't agreeable to give up the scale. When I was still working one year I lost 80 lbs in a year just paying attention to what I ate and not tracking or doing WW.Then we had a Thanksgiving luncheon and didn't get back on a diet until I joined WW Online 5-6 years ago.I think as long as we eat in moderation and eat mostly healthy we will be fine.I remember when I was a teenager my dad who had never been on or thought about losing weight said "It's not what you eat. It's how much you eat." He had to quit school after the 6th grade to help on the farm.I mean back then that's what parents had kids for.He knew how to do it and I doubt he ever weighed much over 200 lbs if that.

Good morning. Didn't do so well staying up all night last night, so didn't do so well sleeping today. Hope I stay awake at work.
As for goals this week....I hope I can get back on track with steps 6 days/7, within daily points 6 days/7, and getting my water 7 days of 7. I didn't track last week, never got my steps, and never got my water. Consequently, I was up 2.2 pounds. I'm surprised it wasn't much worse.
The vet gave Shasta a shot today. She has to have another one on Thursday. Poor thing, she yelped when they gave it to her. She's never done that before. Sure hope it helps.
Our appraisal came back. Lots lower than the last one in 2010, but lots higher than the first one we had In 2006. Not surprising since the last one was done during the raging housing market and now the market here is slower.
DH is planning a fishing trip for us for a couple of days. He is determined to do it on the weekend of the East End Yard Sale. I've already told him to pick another weekend.
Oh, and it was a record high 88 degrees here Saturday. It's currently snowing. βΉοΈ
That's it. I've got to pack my lunch and get to work shortly.

82 at 6PM. I had the heat on yesterday and the A/C today!
BECKY if someone could come up w/ a safe, effective and non dependency inducing sleep med, they'd make a MILLION. I agree about moderation and mostly eating healthy. Not sure how I let myself eat so MUCH. Moderation is not in my wheelhouse any more.
ANGIE I find it so EASY to be negative but I don't even want to be around me when I'm negative. Drags ya right down.
CONNIE will this be enough on the appraisal to take $ out to fix your party house? SNOWING???
Well my split pea soup was delish. I've tracked everything for today (including my intended 3rd meal). I need 1200 more steps to get my 6500 and I should do that w/ some to spare. I mean I WILL do that.
Off to bunco.
