Hello Crafters Ginny - I can't wait to hear what your friend thinks of her sewing machine. It is too bad that you have to buy more fabric to make another quilt Hope you enjoyed the bagels if you made them. I really like them every time I have them. Ruth - With the precut fabrics these days, it can be really easy to make a quilt. All you'd have to do is lay the pieces out and sew them together. I love the white creamed filled donuts. I haven't had one for several years, but those were my favorites when I was a kid. I especially liked the ones that had the outside covered in powdered sugar. Meg and Phyl - Hope you are both doing well. I'm doing pretty well today. The house has cooled down so that's nice. So far the rain has held off for the weekend, except for a few light, short showers. I hope it will stay that way so I can avoid the ceiling leaking again. I'll be happy to get the roof stuff behind me. I've always been an anxious person and anything to do with house repairs causes me a lot of anxiety. Every so often I try to figure out why that is, but I never can. Take care everyone!

Aw heck, is tomorrow really Monday??
2 ingredient bagels came out great- using home made self rising flour.
Ruth - hope you were able to find a cute and not too difficult applique to crochet. Of course that will work - using a fine yarn and smaller hook. Do not blame you one bit for going for an easier pattern to follow.
Got a little bit done on the fg- now wrapped the machine and am getting a get well card written. G

CJ- LOVE the granny rose afghan!! Looks like it might not be too much work either. Thanks for sharing. Hey, have you ever boiled the 2 ingredient bagels first? (Does the dough hold up through that?). With regards to home repairs, I get the same way. So much anxiety over if I hired the right contractor, is the contractor honest, will they find something catastophically wrong while doing the repair. My Dh and I are both engineers - and he backs away from the contractors most of the time when we have home repairs done that are beyond what Dh can do himself. I suffer the same stress....its all gonna be ok and by the end of the week you will be sipping a big cup of tea, checking out quilting blogs and feeling great again!!! G

Looking at all the blogs motivated me to layout my 2 packs of Charm Squares into the 6x6 grid (36 in each top). I got to the end of laying them out and was one block short! But I had a fabric that matched pretty well so I cut a 5 inch square from that. Now all I have to do is sew the rows together. I may try to work on that tomorrow.
Ginny - I've never boiled the bagels, but here's a website where someone posted to do that:
www.bellagetswwaisted.com/index.php/2017/12/20/2-ingredient-dough-bagels/
Thanks for saying you have anxiety about home repairs too, it helps to know I'm not the only one. I will go to the extreme discomfort before I'll call someone in to fix something - like the kitchen faucet leak I had for about a year
I made my Imitation McDonald's Mocha Frappe today and really enjoyed. I try not to make this too often so that when I have it I really feel like I'm having a treat.

Unfortunately tomorrow really is Monday again. I was thinking about that earlier.
Again I'm am exactly like both of you. House repairs cause me a lot of stress also. Dh never wants to hire anyone. He thinks he can do it all himself and, of course I always worry about how much these things are going to cost. About 4 years ago we had our septic tank collapse and had to have that replaced and the the next year our main drain clogged and for both those things I was envisioning a huge output of money and also worrying about whether or not the workmen would be honest and if they would do a good job. It ended up dh was able to do the drain but had to make a hole in the wall of our bedroom to get to the lower pipe. Neither the roofer nor the septic people did a good job.Now I just try to put it all in God's hands and know He has a lesson to teach me
I got one pair of gloves done and am now going to go check those websites you post, CJ.I'm glad you had a fabric you could use to replace the missing square!

The granny rose afgan is pretty but actually I've never reall;y cared for afgans with large flowers. Years ago there was one everyone was making with a certain flower and I never liked those at all. The one thing about this afgan that's really nice is the edging. If you look closely you can see that the chains on the edging make the clusters look like tiny baskets.

Hope I'm not driving you all crazy with all these links , but look at this yarn and crochet shawl: everthecrafter.wordpress.com/I love the colors of the yarn. I'm trying to figure out what stitch this pattern is. She doesn't mention it on her post, that I can find. It's very interesting looking though.

You are definitely not driving me crazy. I love looking at links The stitch she is using is the linen stitch. Here's a link to a Marly Bird youtube that show's it being done www.youtube.com/watch?v=I3EtR6o4jpEThat yarn she used is sure pretty And no, It's not that I'm so smart I can look at something and know what stitch it is....it's in her narrative. You must have just missed it in your reading. I missed it too the first time so was actually trying to figure it out then I went back and read again and saw where she said it.
