Good morning!
Phyl thats a great idea making a tablecloth or quilt out of those inexpensive bandanas..AC Moore usually sells them for super cheap in summer- in many different colors also.. Glad you were cleared for your surgery. One more hurdle out of the way. As we are looking at warmer weather I think its funny you are working on snowmen. But that is the way it goes with crafting....we do it in the off season so its ready for the season.
Ruth- sell the truck for close to what its worth!! Or at the very least donate it to a charity and take the tax deduction. I knew you would figure out that pattern....perserverance pays off indeed.
One advil did me fine for the night and today I am slightly sore, that is it. Feel fine. Busy am- had some errands to run. Now trying to catch up with email.

Phyl, you're done a good job controlling your diabetes. A1c is great. I guess that high platelet count was a mistake? Or maybe you had a typo when you put it here? My dh recently bought a bunch of bandanas at walmart. Marked down to 25cents each. They're kind of thin though but he thought I could make something with them. Your fabric books sound nice.It sounds like your group makes some really nice and interesting things for charity.
Ginny, I'm glad your extraction site is feeling ok and I hope you have a good day. Congrats in getting the errands done.
CJ, at least having the roof done is going to be very soon if not today.
Meg, I hope you're getting some rest and having some enjoyable days doing things you like.
I was so tired all day yesterday. I don't know why. When I worked on the second glove of the pair yesterday I kept making mistakes but I finally got it done. I did start another but only did one row and gave up and went to bed. Then of course I couldn't get to sleep. I never had a problem sleeping when I was young

Hello Crafters Meg - It looks like the next season of Poldark will be on TV in the UK this Summer, so for the US it would be sometime after that. No dates yet though. Phyl - I've seen a few bandana quilts. It would be neat to make one. Glad everything went well with your bloodwork. Ginny - I'm glad you made it through yesterday and last night without much pain, hope you heal up soon. Ruth - It's nice to know the value of your truck in case you do decide to sell. Hope you get some good sleep tonight. It's nice and sunny here today and in the 70s. No roofers yet, but I hope they'll be here by the end of the week. There's a chance for some rain tomorrow, but I'm hoping it passes me by so I can keep my ceiling dry before the roof is replaced. I haven't been doing much of anything today, just picking up some trash in the yard and spraying Round-Up on some weeds. I've done a bit around the house too. Take care everyone!

Hello everyone, Another nice day. I haven't been outside yet. This morning I got some laundry done and this afternoon I will probably knit and listen to my book. I didn't do any crafting yesterday apart from looking at some patterns on the computer.
Ginny, I am glad yo hear that your dental surgery is slowly getting better and that the Advil has helped with the pain. The book I am listening to now will probably be the 3rd season of Poldark. I like to read the books before watching a movie or a TV series.
cj, I hope they have started working on your roof. It has been a long wait. I think I would be pulling my hair out if I had to wait so long. I am reading the 5th Poldark book and I am looking forward to the 3rd season. If they are just starting the 3rd season in the UK it may be awhile before we see it here. I'll have to check, it would be nice if we could see it here in June.
Phyl, I am glad your blood work is done and you are all set to go. Those cloth story books are great for babies. I have a couple left over from when we held our Craft Faire. I will have to find somewhere for them to go. They are new, never been used.
Ruth, That is exciting news about your truck, and you thought you had a piece of junk sitting in your yard. My DS bought a new car about a week ago and he had an old Honda Accord which had almost 200,000 miles. He bought it new about 1992, I think. He got 500 trade in. Sorry you didn't get a tan when gardening. I never get a tan because I was a red head of course with fair skin. I am thinking I should wear a sun hat. I can never find one I like. I bought one last year but I don't really like it. I have been wondering if I could crochet one. I'll have to check it out.

Meg, no I never get a tan either just sunburn but for the last 8 years or more I don't even burn. I had reddish highlights in my hair and come from a family of fair skin people.
Just got in from doing some yard work. I made the little bed for the zucchini plants so we'll see if they end up producing any actual zucchini fruit. At least the blossoms will be pretty. Also did some more clearing out of the edges of the long flower and bush beds. Next will have to do around the border dh built around the spruce tree.
Now I'll spend the evening crocheting. I started a little pair of fgs using stitches from the last pair I made but in my own pattern.
Gotta at least start a pair of mittens for the Wed charity plan

Just a quick check in and then I will get my book and blankie ready to work on. I haven't decided which blankie I will work on. I haven't worked on the crochet one for about a week.
Ruth I got a good burn on my arms years ago when I lived in Iowa. So now I avoid the sun. Have a good evening.

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today and having nice weather where you are It's warm and a bit muggy here today and we might get some thunderstorms later. I'm hoping they pass my house by. I heard from someone who is using the same roofing company as I am that once they deliver the shingles then they will be here about 3-5 days later, and that they do call the day before. I wish I'd known that before getting up early the last 4 days They didn't come today so I'm really hoping they'll have me on the schedule for tomorrow or Saturday. We're projected for chances of rain starting on Sunday and running for several days, and even if they still work I really don't want my roof being replaced when it's wet. I made some Two Ingredient Dough today and divided it into 3 parts. I made a bagel with one part and I'm going to make a mini pizza today with another. Then I'll use the last part tomorrow for a mini-pizza. Take care everyone!

Yes it would have been nice if they had told you that it would be later in the week before they actually came to do the work. I hope the rain bypasses you so you won't have to worry all weekend if they don't get ther tomorrow.
Phyl, it's great that your blood work is all good. I don't know why your second A1c would be different but different labs probably did the test and some have different methods or something. I don't know much about the labs themselves but I do know an A1C isn't supposed to change that fast so it had to ve a variant in the testing.
I didn't feel well earlier today but am feeling better now. I tried to take a nap but the neighbor was mowing his yard and since we have big lots he worked on it for 2 hours or more and, well, you can't complain aobut someone mowing their lawn in the middle of the day or even ask them to put it off. I'm sure he would have if I had said something. He's a nice guy. So no yard work got done by me today but I will do some crafting later. Can't believe it's almost 5:30 already. I think DST is still messing up my perception of time.
Have a great evening everyone...Ginny I hope your mouth is stil feeling ok.

Hello everyone, The temp here today is 85 and Devin decided it was time to get in the pool. I think it needs a few days for the water to get warm though I think we start using the pool in May. I will probably not get in as by balance is not good though once in the pool I would be fine.
Last night I spent the evening listening to my book and knitting. When I was getting near the end of my skein of yarn there was a knot in the yarn and I kept knitting and noticed a change in the color of my yarn. I discovered that the end of the yarn was royal blue. The color should have been lavender which was a big difference in color. They had attached the royal blue to the lavender to finish off the skein. I often get knots in my yarn but never a different color. I may write to them. It was a Red Heart yarn.
cj, Sorry they didn't start on your roof today, I hope they start soon so that you can relax. I don't like to use my oven when the weather is hot. I hope you don't get a thunder storm and more rain before the roofers get started.
Phyl, I am glad to hear that your tests went well one less thing to worry about. I hope you get good news about your insurance before you have the surgery done. Enjoy your gardening and hope it relaxes you. Take care.
Ruth. I hope you are feeling better sorry your neighbor spoiled your nap. Take care.
Hi Ginny, Hope you can slow down.
Have a good evening everyone.

Good evening!
Long day....glad to be home.
Phyl- good news that your blood work is all good for the procedure- that is a relief! I have never heard of that product 101- but will have to check it out. Sounds like a fabric stabilizer?
CJ- well I agree it woulds sure be nice if the roofer would call before they work on your roof. Have fun sleeping in tomorrow!!! Sure hope that your roof is done before the rain comes.
Ruth, yes DST can mess up a body clock. Guess you stayed inside to craft....still working on fgs?
Just got back from my gfâs- gave her the sewing machine which she loved.
Have a good night all. (Yes, Ruth, my mouth seems to be healing well) G Meg- wonder which blankie you will work on?

Meg, I know Red Heart has some problems with some of their yarns. Their Heads Up yarn is the worst. I've often found knots in my yarns but never had a different color show up. The time I emailed Red Heart they sent me mailers and wanted me to send the yarn to them so they could see it in person so that's probably what they'll do with your email too. Herrschner's own brand of yarn is the worst for knots. I've bought a lot of kits from them and in some of the yarn skeins in the kit, and these were small skeins, there were so many knots that I knew If I cut them out I wouldn't have enough yarn with having to weave all those ends in, to finish the blankets. They're very accomodating though and they immediately sent me more yarn free. I was just working with one of their skeins last night and only used a very small portion of it and already found 4 knots that I had to cut out. Unfortunately I bought it about 4 years ago maybe even more,so I'm sure it's too late to get another and I'm not making the blanket the kit is intended for so will just use what I can. I never leave the knots because I'm always afraid the yarn will come apart there and the whole thing I've crocheted will fall apart.
Ginny, I'm glad to hear that your friend liked the sewing machine. I'm sure she more than liked it. She was probably thrilled. And tomorrow is Friday so you have a weekend off!! This evening now that I feel better I'm working on mittens. Didn't get much of even one mitten done yesterday and this morning too part of it out because I didn't like the way it looks and even though it's for charity I want it to look nice.I did want to get out and get the yard work done but maybe tomorrow if it doesn't rain. They said rain for today and they were right...it's raining right now and quite a bit too so the grass my neighbor mowed will have nice rain to help it grow back fast
See you all tomorrow

Good morning!
Meg, I totally agree with Ruth, contact Red Heart about the yarn. IMO you were actaully shorted that final length of yarn- its not even close to the same color!! You buy enough yarn from them- indeed they should make good and send you a replacment skein
Ruth hope you get some sun today- and are feeling better.
CJ- any news from the roofers?
Phyl- guess you are getting ready for your procedure. I figure you will need a night or two in the hopsital- how long are you supposed to be cared for in the hospital?
Got 2 out of 3 grandkids here. Dd is off at a Mothers day tea with DGD. DGD#2 is napping so its quiet. For now.
Have a great day Ginny

Good morning Ginny and all who come in later.
CJ I hope the roofers showed up but if they didn't try not to be discouraged. They'll be there for sure next week. I just hope it doesn't rain over the weekend but at least if it does you'll know it will be the last you'll have to contend with leaks.
I didnt get much crafting done yesterday. I just wasn't up to it and did very little inside the house. I started and that's when I got to feeling sick. It's what I get for trying to work before eating. Plus the work in the hot sun the day before.
So I have only one mitten done so far for my charity collection. I'll do the other today for sure then I have fg #2 of a pair I started on Wed morning. I want to make dgd #7 a new purse for her birthday because I'd bet the one I made for her a couple years ago is getting pretty beat up by now. So my priority list will be this purse, finish the requested fgs, the charity mitten list, and the Christmas tree skirt. I may also make a lap blanket for the youngest dgd who's birthday is at the end of August so she will have it for reading and while doing her homeschool work. I'm not sure I want to do all the color changes or I'd make her a cupcake one or one with little heart rows.Maybe I'll make one with JUST rows of hearts. It won't be real warm but will be cute and I don't think their house is ever all that cold anyway so it will mostly be a thing to just cuddle with.
First thing I'm going to do though after dh gets up is finish what I was doing yesterday when I started to feel bad.
See you all later and have a great day.
Ginny what fun to have the "littles" all to yourself...and your dh of course
