good to see you CJ. Yes all you can do at this point is sit back and hope for the best in the roofing issue.
Well I've now joined those who always plant too early here. This year not because of snow but because we just had a gigantic thunder storm with a LOT of huge hail. Tomato plants are not looking good so hopefully they will recover. Some will and I also have spares in the house...those that weren't very large so I kept them inside. The wind was horrible too.
All the crafting I've done so far is looking online like CJ did. I hope I can get to some the rest of the evening. It's only 5pm here so I do have lots of time.

Oh dear....I left a long post and it just got lost.
CJ- I wonder if the contractor was hit by a shortage of skilled labor and materials from Hurricane Harvey. (I had heard that on the news several months ago.) all I know is Hope that this saga is all over Wednesday and your roof is indeed repaired. Hope that you found peace and inspiration in slow stitching sunday.
Ruth, last year you were the cleaning wizard, straightening up cabinets and drawers at an amazing rate. I am sure you will be able to to t hrough stuff like that this year so you can get to the painting you want to do. What an ambitous goal to make all those cowls/hats and mittens to donate to church! I am sure you will get it all done- and what a great way to use up yarn. During summer I switch to crewel or cross stitch - crochetting is too hot to work with. SOmetimes I quilt too.
GOt to church this am- so nice to be at my home church as I missed getting there for 2 weeks due to the baby’s baptism and Dd’s graduation. So nice to be “back home”. I repaired two sweaters today, both (one mine and the other Dd’s) the neck band let loose, so a few minutes with a sewing machine and the problem was fixed. Its cool here in NY- probably in the low 60’s and a light drizzle from time to time. Both the temp and the precipitation are keeping my wonderful neighbor inside, so I am truly enjoying sitting under the gazebo as the sun light diminishes and the birds are chirping. Have a great Sunday. Oh- tomorrow we will be going to a local parade for Memorial day, probably out to lunch also. Ginny

hi crafters, I am doing ok. will let them take blood wednesday. go back on the 14th give more blood and see the oncologist.wondr I have any blood left.lol
they don't show up wednesday do not pay for the shingles., have them pick them up.
you don't know how cheap or expensive type singles they are using. also if they don't show up tell them anybody ask you will not recommend them.then call the bbb. yes their truck could have broken down.most roofing companies have more trucks and more crew roofers.
haven't done to much crafting.worked a little on the russian santa clauses last night.
today I cut out sqaures for jenny 's charm squares on point quilt.
going to make a baby or youth size quit. I don't need a picnic 50x50 size quilt. it takes 12 squares across and 6 rows down.might have to add a extra row. this gets cut twice on the diaangol.
I have it figured 8 or 9 squares across any ideas on the bottom?
we did go to church and lunch. after michael's we were going to got to a outdoor nursery. told don I just better get out of the heat. I did have my hat and umbrella in the car. it ist he kind of heat when you come out of a building it hits you. it is 97 here and will be 97 tomorrow.

Ginny, I know the people at your home church were also glad you were back. I'm glad the neighbor stayed inside and you are able to have a nice evening in the gazebo with your firepit. Phyl, I'm glad you're feeling well and not affected by the sun sensitivity the med could cause. Yes you definitely seem be be giving a lot of blood. Luckily it is made quickly in the body. When it hailed this afternoon it looked as though it had snowed. There was so much that it was like a small snowstorm and the interesting thing about it is that we were watching it and the hail alread on the ground was hopping up and down and looked like popcorn popping. I had never seen that before. I was looking for one kind of yarn online and it almost led me to order and over $50 to get free shipping. And I didn't even have the yarn in there that I needed. So since the offer is until tomorrow night at mn I'm going to wait and see if I still want to order it tomorrow. When buy ing yarn I just need to stick to buying what I actually really need for a specific project. Otherwise I'm going to have to stand on the street corner giving away skeins of yarn

Good evening everyone, I has been hot here today, high 80s or probably 90. DS and I went to Home Depot this afternoon to get some plants for our flower pots. Then I went to Sam's Club to get odds and ends I wanted. I felt really hot by the time I got home so I turned on the A/C to cool the house down. We will have a few cooler days later in the week. I haven't done any crafting today but I may before I go to bed.
Ginny, Sorry you lost your post. When that happens I don't like writing it again especially if it is a long one. I am glad you got to your own church this morning. It is good to meet all your friends especially if you haven't seen them for a few weeks. I didn't go to church this morning.
cj, hope you are having a good Sunday. Do you live in an area where you are getting a lot of rain? I have been watching the news and they are showing the flash floods. I hope you can stay dry. I think the rain will hit Florida tomorrow. I will have to check on my DGD.
Phyl, good luck with your blood tests.
Ruth, I hope your weather improves. It is just hot here though it will get a lot hotter. I am not exactly sure where you live and I hope the storm will not hit your area. Well you have enough yarn to keep you busy. I don't think I will ever get rid of all my yarn. I have been thinking I should donate some of it to the program Janet goes to every day. I used to send caps and scarves to Loaves and Fishes where the homeless can go for a hot meal every day. Some of the men from my church go there to help prepare the food and we also donate food. Caps, scarves and gloves are always welcome there especially in the winter.
Well I must go and go to my bedroom and read before I go to bed. I did quite a lot of walking today and I hope I can get my days and nights sorted out. sleep well.

Good morning!! I am going to respond here and then copy and paste the post over to next week. Yup, its that time again....and hard to believe that another week begins.
Meg, with all that walking I do hope that you can start the process of switching back to more normal sleeping during the night. My mom had that also- but she was a born night owl and living alone for 30 + years had no schedule to keep her sleeping regularly. Yes, I think with weather that hot turning on the AC is the way to go. Its not healthy to be that hot, and where you live, this heat could last for a long time- all the way into fall. Glad you got some plants for your flower pots- which plants work well in your area, which did you choose? Hope you rested well....
Phyl- good that the doctors are moving quickly with lab work so that you can get some answers. Oh dear, it sure sounds as though you are in a heat wave....97 degrees is awfully hot. Be sure to stay hydrated, drink lots of water. What color scheme are you using for the charm squares on point quilt?? That quilt is so adorable and easy to make once you figure out the secret of cutting on the diagonal (of course you have!). WHat is your plan for that quilt??
Ruth, well has all your “snow” melted? Bet that was pretty funny seeing all the hail bouncing off the ground. I have seen that once- but it was smaller pieces of hail and only lasted a few seconds. You had quite a display! Very good call to let that yarn sit in your cart and see if you really want it today. Yes, I have done that too- done that with MSQ daily deal (loaded it in the cart and checked much later on in the day). With all the crochetting and crafting you do, I would figure that if you got a great deal on a really easy to work with yarn that would be nice to make into a hat or item to donate....you know what I mean. Then perhaps it would be good to order. I run into a snag with the leftover yarn I have here as some of it is such a specific color that it would not look good in a hat or item to donate.
The cooler weather last night meant I slept very well. (I needed that!). We are heading out to a local parade, probably lunch. Gotta go.... have a great day! Hope CJ checks in later on. Ginny
