Good morning. Woke up at 3am after a dream that I was in a school and bad guys had locked everyone in and were releasing toxic gas. I was running down a hallway with a bad guy chasing me. Need to stop watching Bond movies before bed!
Started quilting next customer quilt and should have it finished tomorrow. Had a designer to make a design for this one and it quilts out so fast that I'm flying along. Only 2 more blocks and the borders and it will be done. Started it at 8:30 this morning.
Heading out now to meet my GF, Diane, for Greek salads at Tidewater. Be back later.

SANDY I hear those wild hogs are MEAN... and destructive. And maybe "good eatin'?" Are y'all getting a new RV? It doesn't sound like you've had that for very long, am I right? I think it's Mark's IIRC.
UGH on his RA but I don't think you were very surprised were you? And all these infusions are scary but they HAVE to tell you the worst, so hopefully he's going to do very well. I remember reading the information Bob got before he started Keytruda. I read it and my eyes 👀 were huge. I asked him "have you read this?" Well he never did. And maybe it's a good thing b/c other than a wee bit of tiredness, it's a non event. I didn't realize that Humira was contraindicated if there's been a cancer diagnosis. BOy oh boy you and Dale, (and your mom) have had a rough road health wise the past few years.
And it's a hard line to walk. Enjoy life while the shot is working but not overdo! Also it will be hard to convince him to do an anti-inflammatory diet while he's feeling better. ANd it's not the kind of thing you do now and then. Like any diet, it's a lifestyle change. You just need to take charge of what is in the house and meal prep. We all know, no matter what kind of diet we're on, we CAN make delicious foods.
My plants also look like crap. Especially my eggplant and zucchini. THey grow about as long as my finger, then shrivel, turn yellow and die. It's like I'm growing mini zucch. But it's not supposed to be.
Now my melon vines are going INSANE. That doesn't necessarily mean I'll have any melons but the vines are taking over everytrhing. THey're reaching out to the tomato and zucchini cages! I may wake up one day and not be able to get out my door b/c the melon vines will have covered my HOUSE>
HOLY COW CONNIE that's a really REALLY bad dream. Toxic gas? You're sure making progress on that quilt! QuiltS plural.
OK I need to do my hair b/c I leave in 30 min for the ladies' lunch. The Mexican last night did NOT sit well on my gut. It wasn't at all spicy. Maybe there was more fat in it that I thought. So today is Cuban/Puerto Rican. I'll get something w/ white rice to keep it bland-ish.
Later all.

LOL CELESTE yes, it was hot out there yesterday. Yesterday I did too much sweet snacking, so I blew my day on both level of NoS. Much better today though. And I will feel better for it. I know when out walking I come back and head is congested from all the allergens out there. ODAM is obviously an idiot loser, a nosey one at that. Enjoy lunch!
WTG on finishing the quilt. You are one busy quilter!
JT sounds like your wrist is doing well. Good to hear that…continued best wishes on that.
SANDY boy that’s a lot to take in for you both; and good advice for Dale to get the golf in while he feels good. Good words from CELESTE on telling you the worst...try to keep that in mind. This new treatment may really work well for him.
Not a lot happening here… work is pretty quiet. I went to MX restaurant with ex for lunch and had a grilled chicken salad which is so simple but so good. I bought a bunch of topsoil yesterday, and plan to get the barrier fabric down in the flower bed, mix topsoil and compost and get that spread out tonight.
Enjoy the day

SUZE I totally messed up on No S. Mostly snacking/seconds (I had chips and salsa which were NOT on my dinner plate). I'm GOING to do better today. I think. How's that for confidence.
OK so after lunch a couple of us old ladies went into a sex toy shop. I was DYING at the instructions on this one vibrator made in China (as are most of them). The English on the instructions was hilarious (ATTACH TO YOUR G-SPOT).... uh no thanks. It also cautioned you not use GASOLINE or ACETONE as a lubricant. Well when I think of fulfilling sexual experiences, GASOLINE rarely enters into the process!
SUZE I WANNA BE YOU WHEN I GROW UP b/c never in my life has "grilled chicken salad" and "So GOOD" ever been uttered in the same paragraph. For me "Grilled chicken salad... so simple and so ADEQUATE!!"
But my picadillo? An entirely DELISH meal and not very pointy. It tasted exactly like the picadillo I make which is a SKinnytaste recipe I think. OUtstanding. THen Cuban style rice and beans (rice cooked w/ black beans so the rice is kind of blackish). I didn't eat all the rice/beans nor the grilled plantain.
I need to put picadillo back on my meal rotation. It's flavorful but there's no hot sauce or peppers in it so it's tame as far as "heat". It's been a while since I made it and Bob and I both like it. Or we can go out to dinner at Latin Pig. It's tucked away in a newly built area near the fwy that used to be just an open field (not much of those left in the DFW area). Now there's a hotel, a crab restaurant on the way, and the Pig. But for being off the beaten path, it was quite busy but 5* service. AND......... my picadillo, rice congri, plantain and a diet coke... including tax.. $7.51. And this was a nice sit down and be waited on restaurant.
Well I need to go and get some gasoline and acetone!!

Lordy, lordy - now that's explosive sex! LOL I don't know what makes that salad so good. It's pretty plain... fresh ICEBERG lettuce, a little grated cheddar, diced tomatoes..but the marinated/diced grilled chicken has a lot of flavor. Sign me up for a trip to the crab restaurant - holy cow! That's a great meal for a fabulous price.
Don't forget the matches....

haha SUZE!! It gives the term HOT PANTS a new slant!!
Boy oh boy has this storm rolled in. BUt it's weird. It got SO WINDY. I mean WINDYYYYYYYYYYY. Then it got really dark. THen the thunder started cracking. THen the rain and hail for like 30 seconds! THen it stopped, it got still. Lather rinse repeat.

JT I'm sure it's been a long 8 1/2 weeks for you.I hope your wrist hurts less and less as the days go on.I'm trying to rest my foot as much as I can.I haven't done the bike since Monday morning before I found out my foot was broken. We had to go back to grocery store today but I did ride the cart instead of walking.I have my foot out of the shoe right now since I'm resting on the recliner.I will put it back on before I get up for dinner.Be careful when you start knitting.
Celeste Kenneth eats cornbread with everything but breakfast or when he has a sandwich for lunch. He will have some with steak for dinner tonight.HEB bakery really makes good cornbread.I can say grilled chicken salad and it's so good in the same sentence b/c I have one every day for lunch.
Sandy We have wild hogs too but we don't look for them.Kenneth can see the damage they do in the pasture. He said there were some on our road yesterday morning. They are so destructive.People have put out traps on our land in hopes of catching them but very little luck in doing that.I'm sorry Dale wasn't doing any better when he went to the Dr.I'm glad he feels better after the cortisone shot.
Celeste What kind of melons did you plant? You and your sex toys.I was LMAO. No gasoline is coming near me.Hot pants...I like it.I've been hearing about North TX having rain. What exactly does rain look like? It's been so long I don't remember what it looks like. It's just hot and dry here. What's for dinner or is to late for me to come over?We are having sirloin and Birdseye mashed cauliflower.I know I cook so much.Ha.Tomorrow we'll probably buy some potatoes and have baked taters but the steak doesn't last nearly as long as the chili beans do.Oh well.

hahaha Bob came home and said "why do I smell gasoline?" OK not really.
SUZE i have to admit that since I can't seem to tolerate romaine any more, I've reacquainted myself w/ Iceberg and as long as it's REALLY icy cold I like it a lot. Sometimes I buy butter lettuce but lately it's been iceberg or a bagged mix w/ predominately iceberg.
BECKY I think I planted honeydew and some other kind (not cantaloupe b/c I hate that, and not watermelon b/c it hates me). The vines are like from the JUNGLE and lots of blossoms. I don't know if they'll produce any fruit but it's a pretty vine. But I won't stand still anywhere near it or it might wrap around me like a python!
I want to go out for soup. But the lightning (of which I admit to being afraid) has been really crazy. TOok out our internet and electric for a few moments And BOY HOWDY did it cool down!! It's only 72!! Dropped about 20 degrees in half an hour. I am NOT complaining!

Hey Hot Pant Ladies!! LMAO reading about gasoline and acetone and hot pants and sex toys!! We should all lose some weight this week from laughing.
Glad to hear TX had some rain and it's cooled down some. Been cool and cloudy the last couple of days here, a little sun and then a shower or clouds. Very cool compared to last week.
Sandy, hopefully the shot helps Dale for more than a few days. He might as well enjoy feeling better while it lasts.
Becky, hope the foot is feeling a little better. My wrist is sore today, but I expected it as it will take some time to get used to using it again. Did my exercises. I did knit for a few minutes last night. I was almost done with a hat I was making when I broke my wrist. I knit for the homeless shelter, so I thought I would try to work on the hat. It really didn't hurt to knit, but until my fingers are less stiff, it felt weird. I'll try again over the weekend.
Waving to all. Happy Friday.

So I wonder if they meant Vaseline instead of Gasoline...both are petroleum products....
No idea on the acetone.

Celeste Honeydew is my favorite kind of melon.I can still eat romaine so that's what I will use in my salads unless they are out I will buy green leaf lettuce.I can't believe you cooled off so much up there. It's cooled down here from 97 to 93.
JT You are right. We should all lose weight this week from laughing. All of TX hasn't cooled off and gotten rain unfortunately. My foot still hurts and according to my NP it will take 3 weeks to quit hurting. At least it was already starting to heal a little by time I went in.I'm glad your wrist didn't hurt while you were knitting. You may need to get back in it slowly until you feel comfortable with it.I decided today when we were out to use the riding cart in the store and I was lucky b/c a lady left one just outside my car door.
The steak was so good tonight. We have enough left for probably 2 more nights.

Well JT it's cool right now compared to yesterday. In the low 70's which it hasn't been for ages. We lucked out w/ only a wee bit of little hail.
DOH CONNIE that makes more sense... Vaseline. That didn't even dawn on me. I just was stymied that anyone would feel the need to tell people to keep GAS (and acetone) away from their lady parts.
BECKY hopefully someday I'll be able to eat romaine in moderation. I do like a GOOD ripe honeydew a lot. For me cantaloupe has a weird aftertaste and I've never liked them. BUt persian, crenshaw, santa claus, "orange melon" and a few others are good.
I had pho for dinner. I didn't finish it all. My divertic site has been hurting this afternoon so I thought noodle soup was a safe option. No fiber or roughage (though I DO need to keep things moving."
THe temps are so nice I think I'll sit out on the front porch and enjoy it while I can.

SANDY I think it's kind of common for RV's to have a short "shelf life" as far as a buyer. THe idea is WONDERFUL but then the realities of life get in the way. A while back I was looking at buying one and there were TONS of used RV"s and most of them had fewer than 20K miles. Lots of them were like 5 years old w/ only 15K miles or less. At least you guys had the advantage of having a place to park it. For us we can't leave them on the street or in our driveways so then we'd have to pay several HUNDRED dollars a month to store it PLUS we'd have to get insurance on it for storage in case of vandalism. All of a sudden it didn't seem so much like a good idea.
I'm so glad that Dale is willing to try the diet. ANd I'm ALSO very impressed that the doctor even would consider the keto diet. Usually doctors think a healthy diet has to be low fat, high carbs. Lots of grains and fruit. All of which are NO NO's on true keto with it's NO grains and extremely limited carbs so little fruit etc. To have a doctor consider Keto as a recommendation is pretty impressive IMHO. My GYN is paleo/keto but he says trying to get his fellow MD's to consider it is like butting his head against a wall. As he would say "THEY JUST DON"t UNDERSTAND!"
OK I'm going to hit the bed. I'm in my jammies. My tummy feels better... maybe the soup was what I needed. For now I'm OUT! sleep well.
