Good afternoon, Its crazy hot here, this is not my idea of nice weather. Supposed to be 95 or there about. At least tomorrow it will be cooler.
Regents for the next 2 days, today included. I have been reading my book on the bus- with the regents take home there is a bit more downtime than normally.

High of 70 here today. One day this week is supposed to hit 80 but all other days will be under that.
Today is the day my dgs leaves for Taiwan. I know he's excited but probably nervous all at the same time. He's flown a lot so he's used to flying but never alone, but going not only away from home for six months but to an entirely different country and culture will be interesting but all of my ds' family has always been so close I know he's going to miss his parents and siblings as they will miss him. But he is 19 so it's time for him to venture out.Doing this will help him make decisions in planning the rest of his life.
I'm not sure what dh has in mind for today. Of course you all know what I want to do but I also have a lot of things in mind that I want and that need to be done so maybe I'll work on some of those things.

Hello Crafters
Ginny - It's miserably hot here too - in the 90s, heat index over 100. Hope it gets cooler for you soon. Also hope your cold is better.
Ruth - I hope your DGS has a safe trip, going away for 6 months at age 19 has to be tough.
I have one of the portable ACs that I use downstairs and it works pretty well. I just wish I had a window in my living room where I could vent it out, but none of those windows open, so I have it in the dining room and use a fan by it to get the air into the living room where I sit in the evening. I think they work well in the right space. The air coming out of it is very cool.
Phyl - Sounds like you had a busy day over the weekend, hope you are feeling well.
Meg - Hope you are getting in some crafting and reading.
It's too hot here for me to do anything, so I'm just hanging around watching TV and on the Internet. I also have a book that I'm reading (I always have one going).
Take care everyone!

Good evening,
Its miserably hot here also. We do not have much humidity- which is rare- but I think the temps hit 95. The AC in my bus only cools 15 degrees- so that brings my bus temp down to 80. Still very warm. Thankfully tomorrow it is supposed to be in the mid 80’s and then cool off a little bit more as the week goes on.
CJ-glad you have an airconditioner to keep things comfortable, hope that you also have airconditioning in your bedroom so that you can rest better. Of course staying inside to keep out of the heat is not really a problem for any of us....we read, craft etc....Hope that your temperatures fall soon. It seems early in the summer to have high temperatures like this.
Ruth-Have you heard from DGS- or can you track his flight on the internet? Prayers go out for him and his family as they all have to make adjustments to this temporary change. What kind of missions project will he be working on? Hope you found something fun to do today.....or at least productive so that it does not feel like a wasted day.
No crarfting for me today. I did look at some patterns for crochetted sweaters. Yup, just what I need another project! Ginny

No I haven't hear that my dgs has arrived in Taiwan. I don't know how long it takes to get there so don't know when to expect that he's arrived. While there he'll be helping with community outreach, will do some teaching, and he will be studying Mandarin Chinese. I forget what else my son said that dgs would be doing. In the middle of this he has to leave for about a week due to visa requirements so he's going to go to Thailand to help another missionary then back to Taiwan. I was wondering why he didn't ask for support as that's what missionairies do. But my son said that dgs has saved up his money while working this past year and wanted to pay for the half the church isn't paying himself.I'm very proud of him.And yes, he's travelling all that way by himself. I don't know that at 19 I would have been brave enough to do that.
DS, dgd, and the rest of their group will be leaving at 5:30 am to drive to Chicago and leave from there to go to S. Africa.
Well Ginny, you did get in crafting. You looked at sweater patterns. I haven't looked at them yet but I did get some from whatever that site is, in email today.
Since it's cool this week I made a breakfast casserole...sausage, eggs, milk, cheese, toasted bread, etc and will let it soak and bake in the morning.
I also did about 5 minutes of yard work and made a fingerless glove. I wanted to adjust the pattern for the butterfly fingerless gloves to make them for a child. It worked out very well. Now to make the second glove.
CJ that air conditioner sounds like the perfect thing. I'm glad you're keeping cool and also glad it's cooling off where Ginny lives. I used to always have a book sitting by but haven't read a whole lot lately...at least not novels.I do have an online one right now though. I ordered a couple books today...some for my dd and one for me. I can't wait to read it.
Meg, how are you today? And Phyl, did you go bummin' with Delona?

OH, my, where is everyone?
It's been raining like crazy here since about noon and is just now clearing up so no yard work today. We even had tornado warnings and there was one seen south of here.
Not much going on today. I put a roast beef and potatoes in the crock pot and have the breakfast casserole ready to bake whenever dh wants that which will probably be later this evening or I may make it for him to eat during the night. He can reheat it like he always does with food.
I started the princess crown I'm making for youngest dgd for her birthday. I haven't hear anything about the travelers.

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today Ruth - I had rain today too - 2 inches!! I love having that indoor weather station so I can see the temps outside and how much rain and what the wind speed is. It was hot earlier, in the 90s, but after the rain it's dropped back into the 80s. I haven't been doing anything

except for Meg. She's the only one missing now.
Phyl, sorry your class was a disappointment. I'm sure you already knew how to do what was taught today
CJ, looks like we all got a bunch of rain. It's clearing up now and is quite sunny at 5:30 but I'm still not going to do yard work. There will be too many mosquitoes now and they love me.
Ginny, I'm glad your week is slowing down. Not too many days and you'll be free forever...well except for the days you choose to fill in

Well I have been so insanely busy that when I get some tiime off I do not know what to do. How wierd is that.
thanks to CJ, Ruth and Phyl for sharing the rain....we are supposed to get some tonight.
Yes, CJ- those weather station things are nice We used to have one (it broke) but its nice to see what is going on. Hey, that is ok- doing nothing is ok too. On your crafty days you outcraft (is that a word?) most of us!!! Hope you have a great day.
Phyl, yes its regretful that you really did not learn anything new in class. Practice is always good and also great cause you had an expert there to assist if you had any difficulties.
Ruth,of course the mosquitos love you- you sweet person! So I hope you crochetted instead of gardening. Much more fun to crochet than get dirty.
Gonna go check email....then make sure I have dinner figured out Ginny

Good morning Phyl and Ginny and also to Meg and CJ who haven't yet stopped in for the day.
Phyl, I hate dentist visit but I hope your's went well.
Ginny, soon you will wonder why you thought you had so much time. You'll find plenty to do. If you have time on your hands you can always volunteer somewhere.I'm glad it's cooler there because I know how much you dislike heat. It's very cool here today too and still wet. We've received much more rain than we usually do so I probably won't do any yard work. There's plenty of work I can do inside. We want to paint at least one room this summer while we can air it out afterward.Dh is still researching air conditioners and trying to figure out where he would put one to get maximum benefit. We don't have windows in the bedroom so he can't put it in there although that would be his first choice if he could. One of his plans include quite a bit of remodeling work to eliminate one window in the large family room and put in an evaporative cooler aka swamp cooler. That's what people here use because of the lack of humidity but he would also settle for just a window a/c but can't put it upstairs in the main living area because we have weird windows.
