i took birth control pills for years that were manufactured in india. never got pregnant on them and i'm as fertile as they come.
it just seems like there is a lot of anti-indian sentiment going on and i'm not sure that same sentiment is shared if the countries in question are european in nature. i hope not, but that's what it is seeming like.
oh well, i will let it go. everyone is free to turn their nose up at whomever and whichever countries they want.

Sinus/allergy drainage kept me up with an occasional cough all night.

The little thing that annoyed me today is that my AC is not kicking on! I'll have to call someone to come look at it.

The silver lining to that is we have a pool. So we'll just jump in for a swim if it becomes unbearable before it gets fixed.

The fan is not even going on. Last year the fan would work but the electrical connection to the AC unit had blown because it was connected incorrectly. But an electrician wired it correctly and met with the AC guy at my house to confirm all was well. The AC guy is a good one. Luckily so is the electrician and the plumber. I have been very fortunate.

With the LA weather over the last couple of weeks the AC probably just needed to take a little rest to recover.

I don't drive so I have no choice. borntexan, I am not a summer person. I hate the sun/heat / humidity. Fall can't come soon enough for me ! I am not a summer person either but here in TX we are stuck with it.I know it can get too hot to walk anywhere sometimes but you do well.

With the LA weather over the last couple of weeks the AC probably just needed to take a little rest to recover. We haven't even used it in 2018 yet! Turns out it may be worse. My house sitter tried turning on the AC the day it was over 100 degrees. It didn't turn on so she opened the HVAC closet to check if there was something she could easily resolve. She said a squirrel sized rat is living in there and scurried away when he saw her. She ran outside to see if it came up the roof and she saw it leaving my house from the roof to the fence. She thinks it likely chewed the wiring. So looks like I'm calling an exterminator before the AC guy. The joys of having purchased a house built in 1957! I just dropped $2k fixing plumbing!

She said a squirrel sized rat Sorry to hear of your house woes, Fin. Though I have to say, if I were house sitting for you and a squirrel sized rat was anywhere on the property, you would be visiting me in the hospital because I would have had a heart attack. I have a ridiculous over the top fear of rats, mice, squirrel, bugs etc.

there must be no other openings in the house though (that a rat would be getting in through) because i haven't seen one in the house or its droppings even one time since living here. but of course that closet sure had some rat droppings in it! yuck! we had to fix the AC last year and there were no rat droppings then, so it must have made that closet its home after that. could be trying to get out of the heat when the temps got up to nearly 113 last week.

We get mice about once every 4-5 years, usually in the pantry. It's weird because I can smell them before there are any signs lol. DH says I'm part cat,but he's learned not to argue with me about it!
Minor annoyance kind of ongoing right now: all that dust from Africa blowing across the ocean really has my allergies acting up. Between sniffling, sneezing and a minor but always there headache, I'm just a LOT of fun right now lol.

We've had squirrels in our attic (more like a crawl space) before. We've put mothballs up there and it really keeps the critters out. Wonder if it would work for rats and mice?
Warning though- you do not need two boxes for a 920 sq ft rancher? We gassed ourselves and had to go back up with masks on to take half of them out!!
