My thought exactly when I heard Graham say that. Does anyone wonder if Kavenaugh will with draw his name with a FBI investigation looming? He likes to gamble. Wonder if he will gamble on the FBI findings? My guess is that he will take the gamble. He wants that seat really badly and seems to think he's somehow entitled to it. I think he'll gamble that his friend will stick by him, and that truth wherever it lies is buried deeply. Because if Mark Judge admits this happened, he'll also be implicating himself. But then, who knows . . . maybe Kavanaugh will decide to bail while he can.

Sounds like as of this afternoon, he's not bailing. Honestly, I don't know what the FBI can come up with in a short amount of time & limited scope. Are they just taking statements, are people they are taking statements from, going to be coming before the committee? So do we end up in a week, right where we are today? Mark Judge isn't going to give his friend away. We know that. I'm happy the week is being given, but, not so sure it will do much of anything except confuse things more for those still not sure of their votes. I guess I'm going down the pessimistic trail. Heidi Heidkampt is being way too silent on this matter for me. She voted for Gorsich & I will bet she will go for Kavanaugh. Her seat here in ND depends on her vote. If she does, I will not vote for her in the midterms, nor will I vote for Crammer the Republican. I will leave that space blank. Heidkampt could just as well put an R after name based on her voting record. So, even if she wins the Senate race & the Democrats take over the Senate this Fall, she cannot be counted on at all to vote Democrat when push comes to shove. She will vote R to save her seat in this Republican state. My vote usually doesn't mean much when I vote here in ND because its so Republican, but it means a lot to me, & I won't give it away just because. I cherish my vote & dang it, one has to earn it for me to give it to them. If she votes against Kavanaugh, yes, I will then give it to her........
Anyone else feeling mentally drained today?.....

It is all mentally and emotionally exhausting. Linda, your vote in ND is similar to the way mine usually is here in TN.

The "R" side isn't seeing the value of this. Finding out NOW, before he's officially on the Supreme Court, is MUCH better than him getting the position, then finding out. I don't know the criteria, but I can guess that not getting the position is a lot easier (and less politically embarrassing) than if he were pushed through then it all comes to light and he has to be sanctioned or fired, or whatever they do.
Kind of like finding out your fiancee is a gambler or abuser or something BEFORE the wedding rather than after.

maybe Kavanaugh will decide to bail while he can. If he does he will be admitting guilt. He now has to stay and fight it out. [tr][td class="content"][article] Anyone else feeling mentally drained today?.....
It is our country that is being sc@#$ed, so yes we are watching and yes feeling mentally drained.

Glad to see Flake take a stand yesterday even if not as strong as I would have preferred. He is one of the few decent Republicans there, so I'm sorry to see him leave the Senate even though he usually does toe the party line. Certainly he's a breath of fresh air compared to the Lindsey Grahams of this world.
I'm not sure this FBI investigation, as limited in scope as it is going to be, will do much good. But at least I feel "better" in that something is being done rather than just let this egotistical, elite guy waltz into a job he feels he is entitled too. That really gets me. He has lived a life of privilege, and it seems to have made him completely oblivious to anyone other than himself. He comes across to me as totally feeling that the world owes him this job because he's somehow better than the rest of us. Not complaining because he evidently grew up in a rarefied atmosphere. Plenty of people do, and they don't all come out thinking the world owes them something because they're so special. But this guy seems to think just that. He seems outraged that anyone would even dare to question his right to this position. I think we saw his true nature in that hearing, and it was not pretty. I could totally "see" that angry, belligerent man committing this act. I have no doubt that he lied multiple times under oath. But even if this was all a huge mistake, and he truly was unjustly maligned he showed the entire world that he has a very ugly side and he in no way displayed the kind of temperament that a judge should have much less a Supreme Court Justice.
I think that's why Lindsey Graham pulled his temper tantrum. He realized that Kavanaugh was coming off very badly so he thought if he and then the other Rs came across as belligerent and vicious that would somehow "soften" Kavanaugh's melt down. Well, he guessed wrong. They just all looked bad, but Kavanaugh ruined himself in the eyes of a lot of people. He may very well go on the SC, but my guess is that the other justices sitting on the SC now are not happy to see him coming. He has demeaned the court with his complete lack of composure.

www.cnn.com/videos/politics/2018/09/29/liz-swisher-yale-classmate-sloppy-drunk-bts-cuomo-vpx.cnnIf you listen to the lady in the above link, she said something that really caught my attention. She mentions that Kavanaugh like to drink & a lot. But also, she said, Kavanaugh liked to impress his guy friends with the drinking, etc. So, If you are trying to impress your guy friends with your drinking, you more than likely tried to impress them with your ability to go "after" girls when you are drunk. I'm sure he treated many of his friends who are girls with respect, etc while he was sober, but once he started drinking & the guys start egging each other on about their conquests, or "alumnus society, then, I can totally see him doing what Dr. Ford claims he did to her. I would bet the house, he & his friends tried this on many girls at many parties. Yes, he is still is a privileged only child who throws temper tantrums when he feels his alter boy personality is being challenged. Just disgusting. I'd like to take Lindsey Graham & flush him down the nearest toilet. He will get appointed & even if the FBI turns up negative stuff about Kavanaugh, the Republicans & Kavanugh will dismiss it & say "not true"... But, Ya, he will be sitting on the SC. I wonder then how many lawyers arguing cases before the SC will ask Kavanaugh to recuse himself for conflict of interest concerning his rant about the Democrats, Clintons & whatever else he said in that rant!....JA would be better off dumping him & going for someone else, but that will never happen unless the FBI report looks really bad. But who knows. Its a mixed up, turned around world these days. Well, we have a chance of snow today or tomorrow..hoping not but its pretty darn cold out & misting. I think we all need to find something relaxing & soothing to do today. Give our weary minds a rest from all this political crap. I am going to start scrapbooking...My youngest granddaughter is 8 & I still don't have her first year album done. I did a first year album for all the other grandkids. I'm only 8 years behind...LOL Have a happy weekend everyone!

Forgot to say...Flake will fold & vote Kavanugh in. He feels his conscience will be clear because he asked for the week FBI investigation. He may feel Dr Ford is right, but I just think he will go with Kavanaugh now that he found an out for himself & can justify it to himself without feeling guilty. Flake, Corker, Collins, Merkowski, are all the same in my book. They give the perception they are independent of their party, but in reality they are not.

I agree that unless something really major turns up in the FBI investigation that all those "thoughtful" Republicans will fold and vote the straight party line. They do this every single time a vote comes up about anything at all. You'd think the ones (like Flake and Corker) who are not running again would have the guts to stand strong, but none of them do.
Regardless of the Ford allegations, you'd think that just the fact that he most definitely lied under oath about his drinking habits, as has been attested to by more than one person who knew him, that should disqualify someone from becoming a judge. "Section 1621 covers general perjury, and stipulates that anyone who "willfully and contrary to such oath states or subscribes any material matter which he does not believe to be true" is guilty of perjury and shall be fined or imprisoned up to five years, or both". Well, we all know that's not going to be the case here. Instead he'll get a pat on the back and a seat on the highest court in the land for life, so that he can sit in judgment on the rest of us peons who actually think that when you swear to tell the truth so help you God that you're actually supposed to tell the truth.

But then before this Ford inquiry, he originally also testified that he grew up in an urban area plagued by gun and drug violence. Yet, nobody fell off their chairs laughing. He grew up in a world of fancy prep schools and country clubs. Why didn't anyone call him on that as well as multiple other lies he told?

What a sad story of the Parkland victim's father. Clearly Kavanaugh is a low-life, and he fits right in with the rest of them in Washington. Just a pity, however, that he'll be rewarded with a seat on the SC.
