My laugh for today comes from Andy Borowitz . . .
"The Russian President has been “seething with anger” as he has observed the Saudis using his favorite puppet as if it were their own."

Andy Horowitz hits the right tone every darn time. Too funny!
I found the link Anne posted about JA being fearful, very interesting & insightful. Really describes him to a T. I watched him walk to his helicopter yesterday to fly to Mar a Lago & walking some distance behind him was Barron walking alone. I mean seriously, can you not even walk beside your son. I feel so sorry for that boy! Ugh, what a miserable father he is besides being a miserable human being.
Well, we are having a very simple Thanksgiving. No turkey here. Since it's just the 3 of us, we are having Shrimp, Spinach Salad & Garlic Toast. Just to keep it real, of course Pumpkin Pie.
Enjoy your day tomorrow with family & friends. I hope its warm & sunny in your corner of the world.

Happy Thanksgiving to all!
I just saw an incredibly distressing article in the WSJ regarding torture of jailed women's rights activists in Saudi Arabia. I believe it is being widely reported in many media outlets. I am wondering if the White House press core will question DT about it, and if he will have any response, besides: maybe they do this and maybe they don't. Oooh, don't forget: it is what it is.

The first reporter to ask him about these jailed women's rights activists will be told their question is "stupid" or something & promptly thrown out because of new rules for press corps. I wish the press corp would just boycott the WH press briefs with SHS. Its just lying & propaganda anyway. Why give them the airtime. If they do go, I wish the cable news would not air it live & then take time to fact check SHS & her statements before airing. Let FOX news be their State TV News ... I think the more they take the limelight away from JA, the more it will drive him crazy. Works for me.

I forgot, the only time he has shown the least concern about human rights violations involved children and chemical weapons, and that was at Ivanka's urging. Women and journalists, meh.
ETA: Upon further reflection, I don't know what I was thinking that this would even be newsworthy. We all know torture is endemic in those countries run by the Dumpster's favorite leaders. i.e. Russia, North Korea. I guess since I first saw the information in the Journal, which leans pretty hard to the right.

I absolutely agree that the media needs to stop covering these press conferences live. If some earth shattering news comes out of one of them they can always interrupt with a special announcement. Linda is absolutely right that not getting continuous coverage would drive him over the edge (as if he's not already over it!). They do need to fact check before they air and then air the facts along with the WH statements. Stop catering to his unlimited ego!
Yes, Barron is the only one of the whole bunch that I feel genuine sympathy for. He's just a kid, and I expect he's probably very lonely.
The JA cares absolutely nothing about human rights, and even less about women's rights. It's all totally meaningless to him.
As for Saudi and gas prices, I heard on the news this morning that currently the US is actually producing more oil than Saudi is. Also, according to Gen Wesley Clark the Saudis need us much more than we need them. Which comes right back around to the fact that it's all a matter of family money, and how much he and his family owe personally to the Saudis. This JA and his whole family have absolutely no moral compass whatsoever. A reporter got murdered, as far as they are concerned it's of no consequence except for the way it affects their personal pocketbook.
Do any of you really believe that JA actually wrote his own answers to Mueller's questions? I wish it were true. He'd be too dumb not to hang himself, but I don't think there's anyway he actually answered for himself.

I don't think there's anyway he actually answered for himself. It made things more suspicious that he kept saying he wrote them himself. Why even say that?? Happy Thanksgiving to all of you - and hugs to nashville - sorry but I have trouble with everyone's actual names - thankful for you all for sharing all your thoughts (and great links!) here.

I'm glad to see Justice Roberts standing up for the judicial system against the JA. We've yet to see how independent Kavanaugh will be. I didn't want him on the court, but now that he's there I hope he will be a judge who will weigh the issues on the facts and the law, and not according to who put him on the court.
"We do not have Obama judges or Trump judges, Bush judges or Clinton judges," Roberts said. "What we have is an extraordinary group of dedicated judges doing their level best to do equal right to those appearing before them. That independent judiciary is something we should all be thankful for." -- Chief Justice John Roberts

I am not shocked or surprised at anything this guy does or says. He showed us right from the beginning who he was. A puffed up ego maniac who wants to be a king. He doesn't have a clue about how to be a president and no intention of listening to anyone who could teach him. He only cares about one person and we all know who that person is. He's even too stupid to act as if he cares about his own child.
I wish I could feel some kind of compassion for the boy but honestly I don't. I feel compassion for homeless children, abused children, lonely, sick, abandoned, fearful, and hungry children.
