We are a group of like-minded people that gather to discuss a host of topics from weight loss, to current events. Our thread celebrates liberal diversity, welcomes new friends, and respects all opinions. We count everything from calories to points but, we never count our chickens before they are hatched.

Welcome to November!
I'm anxiously awaiting the mid-terms on Tuesday, although I've already cast my votes. The JA is working hard to keep his base fired up, and to scare everyone else into thinking that hoards of immigrants whose goal is to kill you in your sleep are about to push through the border while Democrats throw a welcoming keg party for them and pass out ballots for them to vote. Sounds ridiculous doesn't it? And yet there are a lot of people who are either 1) dumb enough to believe this or 2) choose to believe it because they like having a convenient place to vent their hate. I'm hoping there are even more people who 1) recognize this political stunt for what it is and are angry at his attempts to overthrow democracy and 2) care enough to get out to the polls and vote against him and all his hateful lies and manipulation.
I'm not likely to get this lucky, but boy I surely would like to see those mid-term results rub his nose in it. When he came to TN he blatantly said that a vote for Marsha Blackburn is a vote for him. He's right. It is. I really want my fellow Tennesseans to show me they're not that stupid, but I'm not expecting that to happen.

Honestly I am so sick of the TV adds and phone calls. I wish there was an "I early voted" option to OPT OUT of this stuff!

DotRen, it just keeps getting worse. His latest ad I would say really hits rock bottom, but I know that's not true. For him there seems to be no bottom. As soon as he hits what would be the bottom, he grabs a shovel and starts digging further down.

I saw an interview this morning, where JA said "I try to tell the truth"...LOL...It's like a child caught lying & when he's called on it he says, "but Mommy, I try to be good & not lie" My goodness, telling the truth on a daily basis shouldn't be hard. If you have to "try" every time you open your mouth, you are in serious need of help recognizing what the truth is.
Dark, gloomy day here today. Last night was a great Fall night for Halloween. We had about 40 kids, which is about average here in my neighborhood.
We are all waiting for next Tuesday & for the midterms to be over. But, come Wednesday morning, we are starting the LONG 2 year stretch to 2020 election. The Tweets, voter fraud claims, political calls, the ads, the rhetoric, the rallies, the lies & fear spreading will not be letting up, but probably ramping up. Then we have Muelllers report to be finished. I think the next 2 years will actually be more stressful than these last two. As long as JA & his enablers are in control, it's going to be full blown chaos.

I think anyone who has to be worried about ethics checks is not someone I want in the government. Unfortunately, I think Bolton is probably wrong, because it seems that we have a LOT of ethically challenged people in Washington right now.

"I try to tell the truth".[/quote] Even this is a lie! Well, I tried. Don't try. Just do. Trying doesn't count when it comes to telling the truth. I swear to try to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. Yes, that will go over big. Either you tell the truth or you don't. There's no such thing as trying to be honest. There's only two options. Tell the truth or tell a lie. Would you tell a cop who just pulled you over for passing a red light that you tried not to go through that light? "Oh, you tried? Okay. I'll try not to give you a ticket for passing the light. I'll give you a ticket for trying not to pass the light." lol. Looking straight into someone's eye and deliberately lying to them for your own personal gain or gratification, or simply because you are a deceitful person and that's what you do, is insulting to that person. It also proves you are insincere, wicked, and never to be trusted or taken seriously. Never. BTW, little white lies that make a person feel better about a hair cut, a new coat, a girl friend, don't count. They aren't told to cover the liars butt or cheat and deceive others for political or financial gain. They're told to give comfort to a friend. Shame on those who don't question this liar. I think they pretend to believe him, knowing he's lying and choosing to look the other way. This will come back and bite them where the Sun don't shine and they'll deserve it. Sadly the rest of us will also get bit.

Funny joke I just read . . .
"How do you get Trump to change a light bulb?
Tell him Obama put it in."
LOL! I had to chuckle out loud at that one.

According to the Washington Post, the JA has told 1,100 lies in the past seven weeks. So that averages out to a little over 22 per day. Sure, I can easily see from those numbers that he tries to tell the truth. Can't you? LMAO
I'm ready for Tuesday to come and go and get these mid-terms behind us. Whatever happens, happens. It would be nice if things would settle down a bit after the mid-terms, but that's not likely to happen. As I think Linda has already suggested, most likely the ugliness will only get worse. Until we can get him and his merry band out of office, there's really not much hope of anything ever getting any better. And unless sane people with a conscience get out in droves and vote this JA/AH out of office in 2020, we will be stuck with him for another term. One thing you can say about him, he understands his base and he knows how to pander to them to keep them loyal and ferocious in defending him. Part of the problem may be that what I consider most "normal" people have an innate aversion to confrontation. That leaves the field open for him and his followers with their loud, hate filled rhetoric. They not only are not averse to confrontation, but they thrive on it and enjoy it. So does that mean that to defeat him we have to sink to his level? I hope not, but maybe we all need to find the "Mama Bear" within each of us to fight back. I don't want to live in a world, however, where this ugliness is considered normal. We've always been told that good always triumphs over evil in the end. Does it? Will it?

I watch a business news channel daily to keep up with investments. In addition to You-Know-Who's die hard base, there are many, many business owners and investment managers who are perfectly willing to ignore absolutely everything else he does as long as the stock market and economy are booming. I fear these people may turn the voting tide.

The millennial vote is going to be key. They didn't show up in 2016 but, I think their numbers could be huge this election. I'll sure be glad to get Tuesday behind us. It's just too much. I've already received seven calls and two texts today and it's not quite noon. Hold onto to your hats!
