I'm just checking back in to say that I finished the Solstice quilt top. But I didn't add the second border. The more I looked at it, the more I didn't like that fabric around the smaller, darker fabric, inner border. So I'm leaving it with just one border. I've placed the quilt top on the stack of all the other tops I've finished. I'm pretty sure I'll never live to see them all turned into quilts Ruth - I'm really trying to focus on health eating too. I had developed some really unhealthy eating habits to the point that I stopped everything and just starting eating what I wanted. This wasn't healthy either but I needed the break from the unhealthy things. I'm hoping I can get on track again in January. Phyl - I hate having to take apart a quilt - I hope you can get it done so you can put it back together they way you want it.

Phyl, I'm sorry to hear that you have to take the quilt top apart. That's always so discouraging.I do hope you can get it back to how you want it. In quilts I don't think we can be perfectionists. One woman that was in my Caps for Kids group made quilts to give away and she was always being a perfectionist in making them but still I don't think they all did turn out completely perfect.Mostly when we make things for others they never notice the imperfections and are just hppy that we thought of them and were willing to do something like that for them.
CJ, congrats in getting that quilt top done. I know you love to do tops. Now all you need is someone who loves to turn tops into quilts and you'd be all set.As far as eating goes well I know that when you're ready you will get back on track. Find some really tasty ways to eat healthy food and eat those first is one way to stay on track. But things that work for one person might not work for another. One of the things I did was tell myself, when I was tempted to put things in my mouth that I didn't need and didn't even want, was "NO, I don't need that. I can control myself". And I would set a time when I would allow myself to eat next and then I would have my healthy meal and if I still wanted what I was tempted to eat earlier I would have it AFTER I ate the meal. Worked for me. Although, as I said, I saw that I was losing weight which I didn't expect because I was eating treats, I got carried away and cut down on all my eating to the point I wasn't even eating enough of the healthy stuff.
Dh and I just finished up some cooking. That wore me out. Before cooking I worked on dgs' hat some more but I have a long way to go on it due to the stitch used.
Phyl, I did post on Jenny's thread twice but one of my goals is to spend less time on the computer so I think I'm going to have to stop posting there. I think my old standbys..the one Marlene is on too and this one will be my message board time.
