Ginny,my dh could eat spaghetti every day and be happy. I'm glad you were able to get the things done you wanted to do and that needed done.Sounds like you have a busy week ahead as usual. You are such a busy person.Luckily I do have the ibuprofen right here at my bedside...well at the top of the bed but you're right.. I need to just take it before going to bed each night.
I did fold a few clothes today Sue. Sometimes it's not easy. I'm glad you're close to resources for your quilting too. Take it easy and get a little done at a time.
I did get all the crocheting done on the purse and even made a flower to go on it because it looked like it needed something. The flower ended up looking so nice. Now I just have to sew on the flower which won't take any time at all and thread a ribbon thru and do the lining and it will be done. This evening I think I'll work on the Bible cover and hope to get it done within the next couple days but then I always have hopes but many, many times the hopes don't come to fruition. And I'm going to make that list I mentioned last week.I spend way too much time looking at new patterns and adding to my never ending list.
CJ, those sites you posted for us are wonderful. I love the baby afgans that are on the crochet page.I was hoping it was a free pattern but it's in a book. I'm sure there are patterns like it somewhere that are free plus I wouldn't be getting to it for a LONG time anyway. I already have two blankets in progress plus those that are done but still need edging
Well have a good night everyone
Phyl, what have you been up to?

Good morning!
Ruth, the purse - complete with a little flower on it sounds so adorable! What color is the purse and the flower? Hope you slept well last night and were not in any discomfort. It does sound as though you are improving. When you next see your doctor perhaps he/she could suggest some stretching excercises for you that might overall help you. (Now i am noone to talk, I hate stretching excercises, even though I know they are good for me). Did you get any work on the Bible cover?
Well, Dh stayed home so I am at Dd’s for a long day by myself. DGS is not 100%- Dd is considering taking him to the doctor. We both think its viral but probably best to get it checked out. I did get some machine time in last night as Dh went to bed very early.
Take care Ginny

Good morning Ginny and all who will stop in later.
Ginny, sometimes it's just nice to have our dh's take a nap or go to bed early because then we can get in some needed "me" time to work on our projects. I'm glad you got to work on your sewing.Did you take something with your to your dd's house to work on when the children are occupied with naps or playing quietly?
The purse is made with Red heart super saver in a pink ombre color so it varies from a lighter pink on the bottom and gradually changes to a darker pink as it goes up to the top. This dgd will be 10 in a couple weeks. She's a very sweet little girl and I think that pinks are her color.I would have never bought this yarn but on the crochet group on FB I saw hats made with it and the color changes make the things you make with it so very pretty. I would have never thought it would work like that. and it was marked down too so I bought 5 I think in various colors to make more hats to donate. I think I mentioned that the woman in line behind me that day asked what I was going to make with the yarn and told her hats and then she asked did I donate them. I said yes and she said that I looked like a person that donates...hahahaha. I had emailed my dil to ask if there were colors that dgd didn't like because their third dd once mentioned in a note that she doesn't like pink but this one does. I made the flower with the center that pick and the rest white. Her Bible cover is in Sugar and Cream in a color called Fruit Punch and looks kind of ugly in the ball but when you crochet (or knit) with it it really is pretty. And yes I did get some of it done but sitting is the worst on the back so I couldn't do a whole lot because it was late in the evening and I'd already sat too much
Yes you would think that the doctor could give me some exercises to do. She's a DO so I think they're supposed to be well versed in muscle and bone problems besides their general knowledge of all things medical.

OH and yes, I agree with having the dgs checked by the doctor. He could have a bacterial infection as well as viral.

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today I went out yesterday to take care of some errands/business and shopping. I was out for 4 hours, which is long for me, so I was tired when I got home. But I did get most things done so I can stay home today. The weather here is much milder, in the 50s with rain on the way. I'll take that over snow. I didn't see anything interesting (to me anyway) on the blogs yesterday, but if I see any today I'll post them later. Take care everyone!

I had to go pick up a refill for hb, an eye drop. Turns out it was the wrong one. I also had to fax some documents so I can access info. I'm the executor for my sister's estate.
It was snowing. Again. Huge wet snowflakes. 32 degrees. Tonight will be 11 degrees with snow.
Yesterday I folded some things. Lots more to go! Ouch!
Tomorrow I'll have to go back to get the correct prescription. It wasn't the pharmacy's fault.

PHyl, I don't knowmuch about half triangles but sorry you're having trouble. You said the later ones worked so I hope that will continue
Sue, it's awful that you went to pick up your prescription and it was the wrong thing...that sure is a frightening situation. It's a good thing you check the label.
It snowed quite a bit during the night so now we may be up to the 8 inches. Later I'm probably going to drive down to the mailbox to see if dh's meds got here and maybe a label but we're pretty much giving up on returning that. They said it had to be returned in 30 days and that is almost up.
I did some crocheting on the Bible cover last night and probably would have completed a lot more of it but I decided I wanted to do a star stitch on the front and back covers. I'd never done it before so I looked up video's and picture tutorials and it's a fun stitch to do. Well when I did it it made the cover start to become narrower. I started it over 3 times, checked to make sure I was doing it right and I was so I don't know why it did that.I had probably 6 rows done and it went from 8 34 inches down to 7. I finally gave up on it and did a different stitch which is much like the stitch in the baby blanket pattern you did, Ginny, on the blanket for your dgd and for your neice.I'll work on it more today

We had snow again, about 4". Almost raining, then the temperature dropped to 11 degrees. The streets were like a skating rink. The "snow man" arrived early and cleared off my car, as well as the driveway, before I left the house. hb's caregiver was here so I "skated" over to quilting. I'm not worried about my driving; it's the people who think they can drive at normal speeds and aren't used to extreme weather conditions. I watched a 4WD truck pulling a trailer skid to a stop at a signal right next to me this morning. Speed and ice don't mix.
It was enjoyable to be somewhere else for a few hours, even if some of the members get a little carried away with political fervor this morning. Two of the members are thinking about moving into senior living this year, so there was some discussion about the expenses and advantages and disadvantages. Lots of conversation about schools, public vs private. Now I'm back at home, and hb is watching The Lone Ranger.
Healthy crafty wishes to all!

Sue, I'm glad you got there and back safely. I've alwys told my kids "watch out for the other guy". And yes, 4wd doesn't do much to help on ice. You would think that people who have lived in Wyoming and Montana for years would know how to drive in snow and ice but every single year they act like they'd never seen either. Dh and I did some cooking and Sue, I have veggies roasting in the oven. Only carrots and onions and yams in another baking dish. I have the carrots and onions on a cooking sheet and meant to put potatoes in there too but forgot. The rest of you may wonder where this came from...Sue and I are on another thread on over 60's called "Getting Healthy". It was started a couple weeks ago by an old friend from the old WW board. She and I were on the Journalling thread for years and ended up running it because the former leaders left. It never started up again on this thread and I was glad because I didn't like putting what I ate every day on there. People wouold stop in just to complain that we didn't eat enough. So I still haven't got to crocheting but I've thought about it...is that on our list of what constitutes crafting ?

One has to eat to be able to even think about crafting. Once having eaten, it's possible to actually craft! Thinking counts! It's prep work!
This morning I left without my bag containing my unfinished infinity scarf. I would have come back to get it if the road hadn't been so icy. Out of the 12 people there this morning, five were knitting! So goes the quilting group!

Good evening! Ruth, well I think that thinking about crafting does indeed qualify as crafting.....logically (and you all know how logical I am, ha ha ha) if you are thinking/considering crafting then perhaps you are rearranging your time so that you can indeed get some crafting time in. Or you are looking for crafting supplies- or simply attempting to organize your thoughts. In my book all of that counts as crafting-using the same crazy logic as why looking at crafting blogs or even posting here counts. Sounds like you got a lot of snow.....and I hope that at some point you were able to work on that Bible cover.
Hey Sue, so glad you got out of the house and got home safely! Indeed, sometimes these political discussions get to be too much- and while having an opinion is wonderful- well sometimes the rest of the world does not want to hear that- especially if you went to go to your quilting group. Its tough driving on the ice- and owning a very expensive car or SUV is no substitute for driving with an abundance of caution.
Phyl- well I had no idea that you hated half triangle squares! (Ha ha ha). Hope you figured out the secret and got through without too much of a headache. I wonder if there is a youtube on them or some guideance from your LQS. Nice that you and Don got out for lunch......and its good news to hear that Gloria will be ok given time to heal.
CJ- I wonder if you were overwhelmed with rain also! (We got a lot of heavy rain). Your area has definately gotten over average rainfall this year. So glad you finished your errands before the bad weather came.
So lets see.....Dgs is on antibiotics but today was much better. Who knows.....this week has been so long, I worked this am and then DSIL brought the DGD#2 and DGS over for us to watch. DGS had fun playing in the rain with DH. So I guess he was not feeling too bad. Babysit again tomorrow.....this has been a long week. Time to go play with some fabric. GInny

WEll I started to crochet but then decided to really look at this and found this stitch was actually making the part of the cover bigger rather than smaller like the star stitch did... It had to be the two stiches and not me right? So I ripped it all and am starting over. I watched a couple more videos on the star stitch and now I'm going to try it again but doing only the part that will be seen on the outside of the Bible and will add the plain part later except maybe if the star stitch is going well and doesn't seem to think for a book cover I'll just make even the inside flaps with it too. We'll see when I get that far. Ginny, yes it sounds like the dgs was feeling better. Sometimes it doesn't take long for an antibiotic to kick in...or maybe he just is better and would have been without the abx but we will never know. We're just thankful he's better because not only do we worry about our children even as adults but our grandchildren and great grandchildren also. I'm glad you're getting to "play" with some fabric although by now you probably are in bed resting up from your busy day. Sue it's funny how those groups can turn from being quilting groups to knit groups to crochet groups. When I went to Caps for Kids meetings people seemed to always either crochet or knit. No one made hats that were being sewn although some donations came in from someone that had sewn some using fleece. They were really nice and I thought of making some but even back then I had too many projects. I have to email my ddil to tell her I'm not going to get the bday gifts mailed in time to be there on the actual birthdays but that's othing new and again she always tells me how much the kids like having a second birthday when the presents from us arrive. At least this time I hav somewhat of an excuse Oh and Sue, my roasted carrots were delicious! I've only made them once before and they didn't turn out well but I found that I wasn't roasting them at a high enough temperature so this time I did and they were great. Thank you for making me think of doing it again. Tomorrow I'll make dh some more sweet potato pie with the yams I roasted. I make it pretty healthy as I don't put in nearly the amount of sugar recipes call for and I use nonfat evap milk, and graham crackers as crust rather than "normal" pie crust or even the usual graham cracker crust with all the butter. I put in a touch of molasses and of course the eggs. See you all tomorrow although I'll stop in later probably to see if Meg posts

Good morning!
Babysitting again- just fed DGS his pancakes and DGD#2 is just waking up from a nap.
Yup got some machine time in last night.
Roasted root vegetables are awesome.....I love them when I remember to make them! Ruth, so glad your family appreciates your hand made treasures as much as they do. I am sure you will figure out that star stitch.

Good morning! It was supposed to snow last not, but it didn't. Snow started about ten minutes ago. Time will tell whether it's a little bit or the 4-6 inches that was forecast for last night. Today is warmer than yesterday but still below freezing.
First on today's agenda is breakfast. Then I need to organize a little bit before I play!
