It's snowy, cold, and I have lost the battle with whatever I've been fighting off for more than a week. I am sick, but not don't know what the problem is. It's more complicated than a cold but not the flu. Well, I guess it could be. I had a flu shot, but I know people can get the flu anyway. It doesn't help that our high is +1 degree. It's not necessary to see the doctor with snow falling and the temperature what it is. Hot herbal tea, staying hydrated, a warm blanket, and a few cuddly woofers. It's too bad hb can't take care of his own dinners.
I slept very well last night, but reading is not an option today.
I have a telephone appointment with the Probate attorney at three. I am the executor for my late sister, and her SO has been refusing to cooperate and sending very strange semi threatening texts. He is so far off base that I wonder if he may be having a breakdown or worse. He has refused to talk to me for several weeks. He is his own worst enemy. Sad.

Happy new week everyone.
Sue I'm sorry to hear that you are even sicker than you were. Yes flu vaccines only cover certain ones so you can get another flu that isn't covered. I'm also sorry to hear that you're having problems with your late sisters SO. I hope this man doesn't live anywhere near you.I'm sure he thought he would be the one to take care of and inherit everything.
It's cold here too but not as cold as where Sue is. It's about 20 degrees right now but not much wind. They had forecast that it would be 39 today with high wind. Well the high wind was during the night and that high of 39 must have been also.
So far my crafting for today has consisted of my carrying my crafting bag upstairs and now the bag and I are botth back downstairs and crocheting may start soon.I'll be back later.I couldn't post earlier because I forgot to take my wireless keyboard up with me and the keyboard on the laptop wouldn't work

Good afternoon,
Sue, that is a shame that you are feeling so crummy.....and perhaps what you have is a garden variety upper respiratory infection and not the flu. Rest up and take good care of yourself. Is your respite care aid able to help with Dh? Hope it works out with your sisters SO. Everyone mourns in a different way, and going through an angry and irrational stage is very normal for the mourning process. Good advice that Ruth had....with the hope that he lives nowhere near you. You might need to consider copying those texts and sending them to your attorney....at least discuss them with him.
Ruth, yes that is the downside of the wireless keyboard, you have to remember to keep it nearby. Hope you get some crochetting time in!!
DGD slept well - so I got to read some quilting instructions that I had brought with me to keep me out of trouble. So that was good....I had been struggling with these instructions and now they make sense. Finally.
Still super windy here, but it is calming down a bit. Think the wind goes away around 8. It was so loud it woke up DGD from her nap several times. G

Hello Crafters Sue - I'm sorry to hear you are not feeling well. I hope you get better soon. Ruth - I'm glad your weather wasn't too extreme. I do a lot of moving crafting things around too Ginny - We got those strong winds here too. It was so loud last night I didn't sleep well. The house just sounded like it was going to blow in! I'm glad you were able to read the instruction for the quilting and understand them. I've found that happen to me too - the first few times I read something it just doesn't make sense and then I get it later. I went out and ran some errands today, but didn't find everything I was looking for. I'm really finding the grocery stores frustrating these days. It seems like they are cutting back so much on their selections. Things that I would normally find there all the time are no longer stocked and I have to go to multiple stores to find foods that I like for my eating plan. I miss the old days where I only had to go to one store to get everything Here's a link to a Pat Sloan quilt block, with lots of pictures of the block done by quilters. This block is interesting to me because almost all of the fabric choices work as long as there is enough of a contrast between the lights and darks. www.ilovetomakequilts.com/2019/02/pats-free-a-flower-bouquet-block-8.htmlTake care everyone!

Good morning! The temperature is -7 and will rise to +6. I'm sitting in my recliner under a blanket with several woofers as little heaters, my morning coffee, and my cell phone! My eyes don't feel quite as dry and scratchy, but I can't focus on a book yet, Kindle or read.
The probate attorney has copies of everything, and we were able to come up with plans to get the remaining information. Another three accusatory, threatening and rambling emails last night. Yes, he does live in another state.
It's snowing! The snow guy was overwhelmed and didn't get here yesterday, but he's been here this morning. I'm sure he'll be back tomorrow since snow is supposed to continue until Thursday! I'm really glad I wasn't stuck on a train in Oregon! So much going on in the outside world.
I liked Pat Sloan's block this week. The fabric choices are so important.

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today and surviving whatever weather you are having Sue - Sorry to hear about your legal issues, hope you can get them resolved. I read an article about those people stuck on the train, I can't imagine how bad that would be. I carried out about 8 large bags of trash today and put them beside my detached garage. That gets them closer to the area where I have to put them out for pickup this week. I still about as many more, but I didn't want to put too many out on the same day. I know it's the job of trash pick-up to get them, but I was concerned that maybe seeing 15 bags of trash might "tick them off" and they'd leave some. I don't want to have to drag them back into the yard if that happened. I'll just put out the rest next week. I'm hoping I'm at least halfway done with the major amount of things to get out of the house. I hope so because it's tiring me out. It's also draining being the only one to make decisions on things to keep and things to throw away. I know it would be easier if I had an idea of what size home I'd be moving to, but since I don't I just have to take a guess at what I'd want to take with me. I just have to keep plugging away. Hope you all are getting some crafting in. I hope to do some soon. Take care everyone!

CJ- glad you stopped back in to take a breather from decluttering! Indeed its a stressful and tiring job....but the feeling of accomplishment seeing each room become less overwhelmed with stuff is inspiring. And while it is a challenge making those decisions.....it does get a bit easier as things go on. Now, of course you are sort of getting some crafting in! You have been reorganizing craft supplies, and I am sure downsizing a bit. Also you found this weeks Pat Sloane entry. So you got some crafting in!! Yes it was so windy yesteday that it interrupted sleep. I know my DGD#2 struggled to sleep through it... Congrats on getting so much junk hauled out. Sue- save every confrontational and insulting email and send them to your attorney. And do not respond to them either.... inform this person that your attorney is reviewing all his correspondance. I hope it stops soon! When we were emplying my mom’s extremely cluttered house....well it was a huge challenge. The realtor said she had never seen such a house in distress before. Anyway, every Monday, my mom’s town had junk pick up. They will take most everything. At first I started with somewhat small piles of junk. And they took it.....so I got nervier and nervier.....and we also rented a dumpsters and had some items professionally removed. My mom’s house was FULL of junk. Week after week I dragged huge amounts of trash out....and each week the pile got bigger. The only time I saw any protest (when the town did not take everything) was the last week- when the pile was probably 6-8 feet high and 20 feet long. CJ, l wish I lived closer to help you haul your junk out to the street.....its a lot of work.! Ginny

Sue, I'm glad you're feeling a little better at least. I hope your weather doesn't come here but dh said he saw on the news weather report that it will be coming south. Hopefully not this far but it probably will. At least we don't have to go out in it till next Thursday.
CJ, Letting go of things can be so draining but it can also be uplifting. I always feel better when I have taken bags to Gw. I bagged up some more things yesterday and just need to put them in the suv ready to take to whichever place I go to.
I was surprised when I got up today that it was 44 degrees. It was nice and sunny but horrible wind. The sun left though and it felt cooler but the thermometer said it was still fairly warm. Dh got up from his nap early and although we had planned on going shopping tomorrow he asked if I wanted to go today so we did go to two grocery stores, the dollar store, Walmart and picked up pizza so needless to say it's now time to rest.

Ginny, you came in while I was typing. Your mom's situation is exactly why I want to get rid of tons of stuff. I don't want my kids to have to deal with all that.If only I could get dh to let go of some things. Yes most of the stuff we have can be used by others. It's not trash but most of it we aren't using so why not let it go to someone that will use it. If only I could get dh to realize that.I know you were super relieved when that huge job was done.

Well that sure is strange. Yes it was 48 degrees when we were out. Now the weather guy just said it plunged down fast and is now only 13!

Ruth, I was going to congratulate you on a heat wave, but now its cold again!!!
Don’t ask me how my post came in twice..... some days this site is just freaky wierd.
Busy day- got my hair done, then went to Christmas tree shops for bridal shower paper plates...., then Joanns (needed fabric tor the table runner), and a short trip into walmart. Came home, made dinner.....then off to the doctor with Dh. Very busy day indeed.....
Ruth, glad you do not have to go out again for a week- and your family will thank you for clearing up your stuff now. Slow and steady... I did on my phone check out your weather, and your area seems prone to dramatic temperature swings... I heard there is another snow system heading across the country too- are you supposed to get snow also? Did you decide to make that afghan with a cross on it for Ds and DDIL?
CJ, Meg, Sue, Phyl and Betty- hope that each of you had a good day and got some crafting time in. Mine was a short but productive trip to Joanns!
Sleep well everyione Ginny

Ginny, why did your message from yesterday pop up here again just now I wonder.
Well today was a warmer day and miraculously there was no wind and not even a little breeze so we were finally able to make a fire in the wood stove and I got a lot done up here. I could have got a lot more done if I'd only applied myself a little more. I did laundry, cooking, and some crocheting.
CJ, I don't know if I responded to your post the other day or not but I do like those squares. As you said, as long as the colors have distinct lights and darks the squares are really nice.
Crochet today consisted so far of finishing up a little trinket box for ddil. As I suspected the lid weighed it down too much so I improvised and put the lid inside which made it sturdier and then I crocheted a spike stitch around the top and did a surface crochet around the body of the box so It looks pretty nice if I do say so myself. I also weaved in some ends on a couple other things I made for her and started a coffee cup holder. I'll finish that and then work some more on the lop ear bunny I'm making for the dgd.
Oh in the pictures ddil sent the ohter day one of the girls was holding one of the cabbage patch dolls that I had made clothing for and sent the clothing and dolls to them so I was happy to see that they are still playing with them. DDil said they were but it's nice to see it in pictures. And it wasn't that she was just holding it to show me because it was an improptu picure not posed.

Good morning! Hey Ruth, that picture of one of the girls holding the cabbage patch doll with the clothes you made is worth its weight in gold!!! Seeing homemade gifts being lovingly played with makes everything worth it. What kind of trinket box did you make? Was it all crochetted?? Glad you were able to make a fire in the wood stove....its such a steady warm heat and a comfort.
Gotta go.....Dgd is here....she is really good but I have to keep my eye on her.
