It's a beautiful, sunny day here. I'm going to take Linda's good advice and spend the day enjoying the sunshine while I focus on positive things around me. Guess that means the TV will be silent.

Never listen to what people say. Watch what they do.

I may not agree with Meghan McCain's politics, but I sure love the way she stands up for her dad and doesn't mince words about it. Go Meghan!

Same old, same old in the news. Nothing changes, at least not for the better. Hurry up 2020 election!! There's just nothing really left to say, but just keep hoping that change is coming.

I hope the media doesn't repeat the mistake of wall-to-wall coverage of Beto, as they did with Humpty Trumpty. I get that he's charismatic and has that Bobby Kennedy vibe but, the media can inadvertently give him an unearned front-runner status with blanket coverage. One could make the argument that experience matters in the wake of the current occupant of the WH.
The debates will be like shaking a tree to see what falls out.

I hate the way the media seems to anoint a front runner. It usually ends up working to the detriment of all concerned. The media has a large portion of the blame for the reason we're saddled with this JA now because of their continuous, non-stop free publicity for him during the campaign. Beto hasn't shown me much yet, but as I told someone yesterday I've reached the point that I would vote for a trained seal if I thought it could beat Trump. ANYTHING would be better than him! But so far I haven't seen anything to make me think Beto can do that, much less anything to make me see him as the best qualified candidate to actually be President. I'm looking forward to the debates. We should learn a lot more from them, or at least I hope we will.

Did any of you see the Town Hall with Elizabeth Warren last night? I did not, but I wish I had. I'm hearing that she was very good. I like Elizabeth Warren, but I just have real concerns about her ability to beat this JA we have now. Of course, I have real concerns about anybody being able to beat him. The whole thing makes me nervous.
It doesn't surprise me that KAC's husband keeps attacking the JA, and yesterday said he was mentally unbalanced. Any sane, rational person would do the same IMO. What does surprise me is that the JA seemingly doesn't blame KAC for this. That really shocks me especially given the JA's penchant for irrationally striking out. Wonder how KAC manages to pull that off, or wonder if it is just a matter of time before the snake in the Oval she's been coddling shows his true self and bites her.

Why would KAC continue to work for a JA who continually trashes her husband & calls him a total loser on twitter. ?? To me, it says way more about her character, than JA. Her kids are old enough to know whats going on. Kind of putting kids in the middle of an unpleasant family situation. But yet she chooses to stand by JA & defend him!

I don't see Warren winning. Bernie maybe had a shot last time, but for them both, the "socialist" type dialogue probably isn't going to win over any on-the-fence voters. Same with Beto, the more I listen to him, the less I like him.

That is one strange family dynamic, and it does make you feel sorry for the kids. I can't imagine standing up for the JA in the first place, but I can't imagine standing up for anyone who trashed my DH. LOL! I may get on his case, but the claws would come out on me quickly if someone else did.

DotRen, I think you're right about EW and Bernie. I think the socialist label is not going to fly with a large part of the country. It worries me that many of the D candidates are getting branded with it, and of course some are openly embracing it. Not many people are going to stop to distinguish Democratic Socialism from anything else, and the term socialism scares a lot of voters. I also wish Bernie would stop talking about revolutions, because I think that also conjures up scary images for many voters. Although you'd think that people who weren't afraid to elect the JA we have now wouldn't be scared by much! To me nothing could be more frightening than to elect him again. As for Beto, he's not impressing me either. So far I'm just not seeing anything special with him, although as Pam mentioned yesterday he does seem to have that Bobby Kennedy vibe going for him. That's not enough to get him elected, and I'm not seeing anything to make me think he could handle the office if he was. He needs to start showing us what he's made of if he expects to get anywhere in this race, IMO. I had thought Biden's time was passed, but the more I'm seeing of the candidate pool now the more I'm thinking he may be our best hope.
