Phyl, that's a lot of women to be in a sewing group. Is the block with the baby duck part of a quilt? A baby quilt?
Ginny, I'm glad to hear you got all your fabric cut and ready for the class. No the glasses case is really easy and so is the flap. I'm going to make myself one too and I won't put the flap on mine either because it's just for at home at night. If it were to go in a purse it would need the flap but then probably would still be too soft as the glasses could get crushed.
I still haven't done any crocheting but it's only 8:30 so I still have time.
DD posted dgd's sono video on facebook. It's just amazing to see a tiny, tiny baby moving around inside the mom. One of the women in a crochet group said her great grandchild is also due in Sept and they already know it's a girl. I don't know how because I think it's way too early to be able to tell with a sono. Maybe she had a amnio although they aren't usually don't until about 16 weeks or at least never used to be but things change. Anyway some of my upcoming projects will undoubtedly be baby items.Since he or she will be born in the fall warmer things will be needed than when her last one was born which was July

Ruth, you know more than I do- but you are right, its early for amnio and the gender determining sono. Congrats on the little one and getting to see his/her FIRST picture! Ava will be a good big sister, I am sure.....how is she feeling??
Gotta pack up for class. Ginny

Good morning! During the night we got another inch or two of snow. The temperature is supposed to be 36 tomorrow. Happy dancing! Then a week in the high 20s! More happy dancing!
Two quiet peaceful days without the bizarre emails. My attorney called his attorney. She called him. He called me and apologized for "going off". He fired his attorney and is looking for a more aggressive attorney who will believe him instead of the laws and legal system. His attorney also has received some bizarre communiques.
I was able to go to the caregivers group yesterday. hb's caregiver was here and took care of the snow on the back deck and mopped the floor for me.
The cord for my cell phone has been replaced, so I can communicate with the world again! My computer is not back online yet. That is a mystery. I need to have someone come check things out and help bring the technology in this house into this decade.

Good morning all. It's just barely still morning here. It's warm...over 30.
Sue I'm glad you were able to get out. Your hubby's caregiver sounds like a very good person and I know you're grateful for all that he does and grateful to be able to get out of the house without having to worry about what you'll find when you get home. Yes it wasn't until 2015 that we even came close to being in this century with technology. Ds came to visit and while here he and dgs put in wifi and it was fantastic to have it so that I could have a laptop and a tablet. We're still way behind everyone else. For instance we still have no smart phone.I don't know what I'd do with one either actually. I rarely talk on the phone and I don't need internet access when I'm away from home. A lot of companies now, though, go on the assumption that everyone has one and you have to have their "app"
Yes I don't know what Ava is going to think about having a baby around all the time but there's still six months until that happens. She'll be just over two then.
I'm thinking of taking apart the hat I finished last evening before starting the next one. I really don't like it and don't think it would be of use to anyone. I started it in star stitch and kind of got tired making that because it's a little slow so I revised but to make a long story short it really didn't come out to be anything I want to donate so will tear back to star stitch and go from there.

Good evening,
Sue, well first of all, that is awesome news that the attorneys got through to your Ds’s significant other....and that he is now going to be more pleasant to deal with. It seemed to be “about time” that the attorneys did something, if the emails were that abusive and threatening. It must be a huge relief to you that they are doing something and that he is cooperative. Keep the emails anyway.... and lets hope for the best outcome. Your Dh’s caregiver sounds so considerate....and I am glad you were able to get out to caregivers group. And congrats on the warmer temps....at least the weather is normal winter temps and not so extremely cold.
Ruth, well your saga is why I sort of gave up sewing a lot of garments...a pattern can look really nice, and then you spend a lot of time picking out the perfect fabric,.....invest all that time preparing the pattern and sewing and find out that thepattern is just not what you had hoped it would be. There are so many nice and not difficult to make hat patterns.....perhaps you can fall back on a tried and true pattern. Was this hat a gift or to be donated?Do you have any special items you want to make for your newest great grand child?
Class was good. As expected, i learned a lot....also signed up for the block of the month project. All of the other women either made table runners in muted colors or monochromatic. Yes they are pretty....my table runner was blue and yellow....and white. No muted colors there! I could not finish, but have to add the border and binding. Think I should be able to do that using the instructions or with some friendly advice from the friend I went with.
Its going to be really cold here tonight.....think warmer temps are here for the weekend.
CJ, Phyl and Meg, hope each of you is well - CJ this week you have a lot of stuff to take to the curb, and I am sure you are busy decluttering. Meg, hope Janet is healing well. Phyl, which quilt are you working on? Night all Ginny

Ginny, I'm sorry it's going to be so cold tonight there. I hope that if you have to go out tomorrow that it will have warmed up. I'm glad you liked the class. I think that, for some reason, a lot of people are afraid to use brighter colors.I always chose more muted ones too but now that I've had more exposure to crochet patterns I'm beginning to really like brighter colors and combos of colors that I never had thoght of before. Some are really great when you finally put them together. I'm sure you won't have a problem with the border and binding but if you did happen to run into one, yes your friend is there to help out'
I decided to leave the star stitch as is. I'm sure someone can use it and will like it. I finished the one that looks like a waffle stitch. It's really pretty. I'll have to make more of those sometime. The hats I'm making now are not gifts. I got tired of working on gifts so I decided to start working on my hat donations. I have a long list of bookmarked and downloaded hat patterns I want to make...probably at least 100 of them... so I'm starting at the top and working my way down and want to make 31 by the end of the month. So far I have 4 done so I'm just a couple behind.I started #5 just a few minutes ago. The ones I already made are all little girl type and size hats and one that could be for a little boy but now I've changed to men and boy hats because that's usually what's needed. Everyone makes the "cutey" hats so men and boy hats are neglected. The Cap for Kid leaders were always asking us to make more men and boy hats. And little boy hats can be cute too. They have cute appliques you can put on them..I saw one for a little car today and of course little animal appliques.footballs, soccer balls, etc... The hat I started tonight is one of the kind of double layer ones that is on the order of the thermal stitch and will be adult men's size. I want to take it with me tomorrow so I can work on it while waiting in the eye doctor office. And yes, I want to start on that cross afgan but I'm still trying to decide on colors and what kind of yarn I want to use.More on that tomorrow. Now back to the hat
Oh dh is looking at Chromebooks to buy for me. have any of you had experience with them? I don't know anything about them really

Actually I have 258 hat patterns on my bookmark list...that's crazy. There may be a couple repeats but still.

Good morning!! Ruth, well 258 bookmarked hat patterns gives you LOTs to choose from- and many patterns so that it will be easy to select cute/attractive hats that have good directions that are not nightmares to make. Guess you are donating to Caps for Kids....are they near you so its an easy donation? Hold on to your thought about Chromebook. Dd #2’s school uses them- so Dd has one. I will ask her when she gets home tonight.
Yikes it was cold this am....I did work....but that is it for me for the week. Dh and I are going shopping in a bit. Bird seed is one of the items on our list. We are getting huge numbers of red winged black birds (hundreds). And we are almost out of seed.
Looked at my table runner again this am. (Ruth, I will dend you a picture). I love that it is bright and cheery. Think I will make a second one, once I finish the first. (In my spare time....). I did sign up for BOM club too- that starts in April. Yikes. Guess I will be sewing a lot.
Gotta finish my shopping list.....BBL Ginny

Going to Joanns sometime to get yarn for baby caps and flannel for blankets to donate to our hospital. Small easy projects.

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today I hope you'll forgive me for not responding to each of you directly, but I did read all the posts and send good thoughts to those who need them and enjoyed reading about all the projects going on. I've been busy the last few days working in the house. When I get motivated I just have to keep going because that usually follows with a few days where I don't feel like working on much. I've gotten a lot done and there's not too much more to do. I'm done on the second floor and I really want to finish going through the first floor by the end of the month. Once I get to that point the only thing left will be for me and my brothers to figure out what to do with our parent's things. I'm starting to see a little bit of progress, but most of the "junk" in the house was hidden in drawers, closets, boxes etc., so clearing them out really doesn't make the house look less cluttered. But I know they are cleared out, so that's the most important thing - at least that's what I've been telling myself It's been interesting what I've found - my father's WWII Navy uniforms, some baby clothes of mine, all of my mother's costume jewelry, lots of old pictures and greeting cards, etc. I was clearing out my mother's old sewing box today and found a bunch of buttons. I put them all in one storage bag, because I've always wanted to make something, like a small quilt, and put buttons on it. I've packed up one more box for donation - the rest was already picked up last week, so I might just take this one somewhere myself for donation. I also put out 10 bags of trash today and have about 7 more that I'll put out next week. My poor body is tired! It hasn't helped that I gained back weight over the winter, so I don't have as much energy as I did. Hopefully when I get through with the decluttering I can focus more on my eating. At least I've gotten a lot of exercise with all this work. No crafting for me this week, but maybe I'll have some time this weekend or next week. Take care everyone!

There was a good turnout at quilting today. The roads between my house and her house were good with the exception of our respective subdivisions which were icy. . All were very glad to get out and go somewhere.
My cell phone is working again, thanks to a new charging cord. The internet to my computer is still not working. I'm going to need some help with that.
My infinity scarf is almost finished. I have about five feet of yarn left and an end or two to weave in. This is the same one ... black and merlot ... that I started many weeks ago. I'm going to finish it later this evening. I've only been working on it at quilting. That makes perfect sense, doesnt it? Going to quilting to crochet!
The caregiver took hb to Costco this morning. That wasn't what we had planned, but hb was getting anxious about running out of bottled water, Ensure, and paper towels. Caregiver is having problems with his car, but he was driving his girlfriend's car today, so now hb is happy, and I don't have to go to Costco.
We had hail a while ago, and now it's snowing. It's supposed to snow all night but not that much.

Betty, well I never watched a youtube or got formal instruction on blocking anything, My mom always just washed an item by hand and then carefully placed the item on a flat surface, shaping it to dry in the proper shape. Perhaps others here willl have better instruction for you......i love your inspiration to make things for charity....those flannel blankets are a great project and kids love them!!
Phyl, Well you are a dedicated Christian woman with a good heart. Think we have seen that over the course of time- the past few months I have gotten to know you. I am so sorry about your issues with weight watchers. WW is a great program, and an awesome program to lose weight following. Their decisions over the years (and I have been with them a LONG time) are defended by the company as latest innovations in science, revisions to program, improvements in technology on and on. Ultimately, I have had issues with them over how they market themselves and their business decisions. I was disgusted when they discontinued the WW boards (which is why we are all here- thank you Free forums!). I begged WW not to close the boards, and they ignored that request. (I know I am one small voice and they are a huge corporaton). They replaced the boards with Connect- which is a trite and stupid form of social media that is used by the socially immature. Do I sound harsh? Yes, I share this with you because I do not believe that WW gives a darn about us, they only want our money. Perhaps you were harsh with their representative, but I do not believe they are a nice company. THey are simply, in business to make money.
CJ- you go girl! Congrats on all the hard work and downsizing. Agree you are in a good place to go through your parents stuff with your siblings....Its emotionally challenging experience. Get through this, and perhaps with spring weather on the way your weight loss momentum will return. We are here for you to support you and cheer you on.
Busy day with errands...and I drove this am. My crafting for the day is trying to find reviews online for quilting templates. I am not having good luck finding any reviews.... Ginny
