Hello Crafters
Phyl - the shop visit and quilt show sounds like they were fun. Hope you don't have any problems with the rain after the snow.
The first quilt show in this area is in 2 weeks. They used to have 15 or more vendors and now only have 7 or 8 and half of them don't sell quilting supplies - they are things like jewelry, lotions, etc. There is one vendor who always comes and she has a great selection of fabric. My SIL and I always talk about how it probably isn't cost effective for these vendors to come to the smaller quilt shows.
Ginny - Hope going through your mother's things wasn't too hard. It's really hard to weed out what to keep and what to throw out/giveaway. I'm glad you were able to work on your table runner too.
Ruth - Hope you made some progress on your gift projects.
Meg, Sue and Betty - Hope you are getting in some crafting and doing well.
I took a break from the house decluttering today and did some organizing in my sewing room. I have several storage totes where I have stored quilt kits, patterns, project bags, etc. and I needed to see what I actually had. I inventoried them and made lists. I thought I had a lot of precuts, but I didn't have as many as I thought. But several of them I already know what project I want to use them for, just need to get working on them.
I also found several patterns and left over fabrics from projects I've done. I can't think of any reason why I need to save them this way, so I'm going to pull out the left over fabric and see if I have enough for backing for the quilt top and if not, I need to fold it and put it with my other fabrics.
It was nice to see what I have, but it was also sad/frustrating realizing that I'll probably never get to all the projects I want to do. I think I'll try to make a list of the ones that I want to do the most and see if I can work my way through them and get them done.
I did find a small kit with some lighthouse fabric and pulled that out and made a small table topper with it. I also pulled out a Redwork project that I've been working on for years. It's an April/Easter theme and I usually pull it out this time of year and stitch on it a bit until Easter - then put it away because I haven't finished it again And one other project I'd love to finish is a small Irish Chain quilt. The top is done, but I have cut out about 8 shamrocks that I want to machine applique onto the top. I pull this one out each year around St. Patrick's Day and then don't get it done and put it away - maybe this year I'll finish it
It was nice and mild here today, and clear. I made some pumpkin fluff, since I had bought a few cans of pumpkin back before Thanksgiving and I needed to use them.
I'll need to get back into the decluttering tomorrow. I have a bunch of shredding to do, so I have to spread that out.
Take care everyone!
