At least they don't last long! But they manage to do their fair share of damage while they are there.

Will we learn anything from Barr about the Mueller report in his testimony today? Not likely, or at least not much would be my guess. One can always hope, however . . .

I've hear pundits opine that Dumpster Fire has all these acting heads of various posts in part because they don't require Senate vetting, and since they are acting only, he has more influence over them. I don't know if he can think that far ahead. I think it just reflects the chaos in his "mind".

I think he feels like it gives him more power over them, and that he can control them more. He desperately wants to be a dictator, and if the American people don't wake up and act in 2020 he's on his way to becoming one. Can you imagine the outcry if any other president had actually told people to break the law as reportedly he has been specifically telling border patrol agents to do? I think he truly believes in his sick, warped mind that he is above the law. Trump says the country is full and we can't take any more immigrants. Too bad somebody didn't exercise that policy when his grandfather immigrated. What a blessing that would have been for us all!

POLITICS 04/09/2019 09:03 am ET Updated 36 minutes ago Rep. Ilhan Omar Calls Stephen Miller âA White Nationalistâ âThe fact that he still has influence on policy and political appointments is an outrage,â the Minnesota lawmaker said of Trumpâs senior adviser.
Well, someone finally "went there". I totally agree Miller probably is, but I also wonder what kind of trouble this is going to bring Rep Ilhan Omar now! She has a target on her back & still is outspoken . This isn't going to go down pretty by any stretch of the imagination.

"Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin acknowledged for the first time on Tuesday that White House and Treasury lawyers held "informational" conversations concerning Democrats' requests for President Donald Trump's tax returns." --CNN website
-------------------
It probably is not, but in my opinion that should be illegal. These are his personal tax returns. He should not be able to utilize US government lawyers in finding ways to try and keep them from being released. If Congress wants to see my tax returns, I can't expect the Treasury Dept's lawyers to help me prevent that. This JA just can't seem to see the difference between the Federal government and him personally. That's because he believes he personally IS the government.

Linda, I think that companies like H&R Block, Jackson Hewitt, TurboTax, etc. have a lot of money to pay for lobbyists; and, we all know that lobbyists hold a lot of sway over Congress. Of course, most states have income tax (Tennessee does not), and an IRS software program probably would not cover those. For some people, I think having a free program through the IRS would be good. Some people still would not utilize it however because they think they can get their money back faster with one of the companies, and some of them do offer loans which are then paid back with the tax refund in order to get some money faster. Those loans can be expensive, but for many people who rush in and file early with actually simple returns they are getting back more than they've paid in anyway (through EIC), and they don't care about the cost as long as they are getting some money in their pocket quickly. So I'd be all for the IRS putting out free software for filing, but most likely it's not going to happen.
