That friend is correct! And yet we seem incapable of stomping him. Did I say stomping? I mean stopping him of course.
The stomping thing is my personal fantasy.

Pam, LOL!
Joyce, I second what Pam said! Good one. I can't stop laughing. Thanks, I needed that. Ryan's stupid SEG in the back is the icing on the cake.

Barack Obama warned on Saturday that US progressives risk creating a âcircular firing squadâ at a time when prospective presidential candidates are competing fiercely against each other to run against Donald Trump.
The former president was speaking in Berlin, at an Obama Foundation event.
âOne of the things I do worry about sometimes among progressives in the United States,â he said, âmaybe itâs true here as well, is a certain kind of rigidity where we say, âUh, Iâm sorry, this is how itâs going to beâ and then we start sometimes creating whatâs called a âcircular firing squadâ, where you start shooting at your allies because one of them has strayed from purity on the issues.
âAnd when that happens, typically the overall effort and movement weakens.â -- The Guardian
---------
I think Obama may be right. Sometimes Democrats can be their own worst enemy. I wish they would all get on the same page of defeating the JA as being the most important issue on the table, because unless we do that absolutely none of the issues progressives really care about is going anywhere. Sometimes it looks like some are more interested in promoting themselves than in promoting what's best for the country.

I dislike purity tests. We saw this with the GOP when tea-baggers sought to punish the moderate Republicans whenever they reached across the isle. They systematically pushed them out, basically killing bipartisanship. The freshman class of House Dems seeks to accomplish the same thing on this side. It doesn't bode well for the majority of Americans who desire more cooperation, not less. Ugh.

doordie50, so true. They need to stop thinking about party lines and getting media coverage and more about the "dotted line" they signed saying they'd do their damned jobs.

This is one of our greatest faults. Republicans don't do this except for the JA. They stick together. Most of the time they have their eye on the prize instead of on each other.
If we don't learn this time around I'm afraid we never will.
Why do the Republucans job for them? A house divided...

Pat, since you're from New York I wonder if you'd mind sharing your thoughts on Kirsten Gillibrand. I know she seems to put a lot of people off and I'm not sure why. Maybe the blonde thing? Maybe they think blondes are weak or phony. Who knows? I'm a union gal and she supports unions. I'd like to see all guns banned and now she supports a ban on assault weapons. She's concerned and outspoken about climate change, a women's right to choose, Gay Rights, and Drug stores raising and raising and raising the price of drugs just because they can. I'd vote for her if she was our choice but I don't think she will be. She doesn't appear strong or tough enough. Then again, Hillary was too strong. Politics gives me a headache. lol. Honestly, I don't think she stands a chance especially now that there's all this 'dirt' about her dad working for sex cults and I'm sure they'll be a lot more 'dirt' coming out. And we're off...

So, Stephan Miller, "The Immigration Whisper" has a whole list of people he wants fired from Homeland Security. This guy has the look & sounds like pure evil IMHO. I gag overtime he is on TV. I honestly believe he probably is a White Nationalist whispering in the Fake Prez ear. I feel no empathy for Kirsten Nielson. She got what she deserved. Anyone who stands by JA for this long deserves to be kicked to the curb. He is loyal to no one or anything! I think people should be very afraid of the power Miller holds in the WH & over this Fake Prez.

Yes, good riddance to Nielson. I agree that anyone who would be willing to implement the policies she did in order to suck up to the JA and keep her job gets absolutely no respect or consideration from me. Of course, she'll likely eventually be replaced by someone even worse. I agree Stephan Miller even looks evil and conniving, and he is very dangerous. The entire administration is a nest of vipers. It just makes me shudder to think about them.

If Nielson was not hard lined enough locking children up in cages, then what horrors are awaiting us in getting someone even more hard lined. What an abominable stain they are creating on the very soul of our country. Will we ever be able to hold our heads up with pride in our country again? Because I can tell you that I am not proud anymore. I am ashamed of the path our country has taken. I would like to be able to say that it is all this administration, but it's not. What hurts even more is the number of citizens who support these atrocities. I'm almost 70 years old, and I've believed all my life that we were better than this. It hurts to find out that we are not.

Buttigieg to Pence: 'If you got a problem with who I am, your problem is not with me -- your quarrel, sir, is with my creator'
The more I hear from Mayor Pete, the more I like him. I don't know that he's ready for the presidency, but then I don't know that he's not either. Whether this is his time or not, he surely has a lot to bring to the conversation; and, if this is not his time I hope his time will be coming. He gives me hope, and that's something that we are all sorely in need of again.
