Good Afternoon, WW Friends ~
I have just finished a 4-hour marathon of cleaning, redecorating and laundry. The last load is in the dryer and I have put away everything along the way. I did way more than I set out to do, but everything looks so nice and feels so good that it was all worth it. Our temps have gone up into the 60's and the sun is trying to peek out.
I heard back from my PCP's office that he DOES want me on Tamiflu, and they have called it in to my pharmacy. This pharmacy typically has difficulty with prescriptions left on their voice mail, so I will have to stay on top of them all day and hope for the best.
Since it is going to be warmer this evening I will have fun picking out an outfit to wear. Definitely jeans, but I have lots of tops and many are new and some even still have the tags on them. A fine day for "shopping in my own closet", methinks.
Hope everyone is doing well. I had a lunch date with a co-worker who had to cancel this morning, and now I'm glad because I wouldn't have gotten my days work done if I had had to meet her. So it all worked out for the best.
Ann ~ I saw that book on my Amazon recommendations - let me know how you like it??
BBL. Make a great day!!

Wow, you are all so busy.
Pam, hugs to you for making it through a very hard week. I cannot even imagine dealing with such grief while putting together events, singing solos, baking and entertaining. I would have eaten everything in site, I'll bet, including the tables. Hang in there. I didn't know Easy Rider was filmed in your area. If Jack stops by, give him by best! I loved that film, too! How fun. You live in a very social and fun area with so much history, so many relatives and such a sense of community thanks to people like you and your DH.
Sue, again, I am wowed at your accomplishments. I need more advice on a nice comforter. My DH is complaining that our light down one is too hot. He loved one at Disney in the hotel. I should have checked it out. Do you have any recommendations for a brand or type of light spring comforters? I am counting on you!!
Ann, your Crawdad book is supposed to be fantastic. Keep me posted! Glad the freezer arrived.
We are off to the Cape - not sure if tonight or tomorrow, but I will keep you posted. I had a wonderful dinner last night with my friend Donna. She's like the sister I never had but wished I did.
TTFN Happy TGIF! Judy

I shall let you know about the book. Just not in the mood to read. I keep seeing pots pans and crockpots lol.
Sleep well.

Good Morning, WW Friends ~ Happy Saturday!! We have beautiful sunshine and mild temps - already in the mid-40's with a predicted high in the mid-50's. The extended forecast is looking pretty promising with highs in the 60's. Yay!! We had a great time last night. I celebrated food-wise, as it was my 35th AA anniversary and DH and I shared a "Rib Dinner For Two" which we both enjoyed very much! Actually, I had a half rack of baby back ribs with a side salad and Tater Tots (which I ate 1/3 of). Then we stopped at DQ and brought home treats for TV time. That's it for me for a while. I was able to pick up my Rx for Tamiflu at the pharmacy on the way to dinner and took my first pill, so I am all set there. I am so glad my usually conservative PCP takes such precautions with me. Today I am meeting my VBF at Panera Bread for lunch and I will have the Asian Sesame Salad with Chicken which I had last time and enjoyed it very much. I also noted on their menu that the Strawberry Poppyseed salad (a seasonal selection) is back! BBL. Make a great day!!

Judy ~ After also suffering with comforters that got too hot during the night, we now use quilts. I only buy 100% cotton quilts and in cooler weather I add a down-alternative filled blanket underneath. That is perfect for us. Yesterday I switched the blanket to a lighter mid-weight thermal woven blanket and it was perfect last night. As the weather warms, I will use lighter blankets but I pretty much use cotton quilts the year round, except for my Christmas quilt which is flannel and polyester filled. My Stars & Stripes quilt is lighter and I use it during the heat of the summer with a woven cotton blanket, so I can take the quilt off at night. I recently donated my last polyester comforter set and my down comforter with flannel duvet & shams. We hadn't used them since I started building my quilt collection, so it was time for them to go. I will be going to Frankenmuth again soon and will check the Woolen Mill which is where I bought my Spring quilt last year. I may find another treasure there. If not, I'm OK.
Ann ~ I had a feeling the rain we had last week was headed your way. At least we have warmer temps and sunshine behind it - so hopefully you will too. Just hang in there!!

Carl sleeps with an afghan and blanket year round. It has to be 90 in the shade for him to shed the afghan LOL. Me? Just the sheet, please with my feet hanging off the bed I have thick Italian blood LOL. Sue yes for some reason our weather pattern follows yours. Hopefully we'll be in for blue skies soon Time to get a move on. Waving to Judy and Pam and wishing y'all a great day.

suewms, Thank you ever so much for sending us some of that awesome weather. It's 70 out there, no wind and just simply beautiful. We took one walk, completed our shopping, and will be going out for another walk before the sun sets. Just lovin' it!

We are at the Cape where it is cool, damp and drizzly! And foggy!! Grrrrrr... I am holding my tongue because we had chores to do here. I see it is in the 70s and sunny at home only an hour away. The Cape in springtime is like that! DH has replaced a kitchen faucet and we had a trip to th3 lumber roofing place where he bought enough shingles to do a small repair here until we reroof the whole house. Oddly enough, the rest of the roof is good and was reshingled about 10 years ago, so he thinks there must have been a gap or something causing the leak.
I brought many of my summer clothes back here to store after the Disney trip.
Sue, thanks for the quilt advice. I bought a summer weight quilt online designed specifically for warm sleepers! Fingers crossed. Boy, I asked the right person when I asked you, Sue! You are the quilt queen. 😄. And, big congrats on 35 years iof sobriety! Hooray! Glad you got the Tamiflu. I did not know they gave it as a preventive. I thought you took it upon first symptoms but I am so glad your doc prescribed it for you. I hear the influenza A is really rough. My DDIL is upset about the measles outbreak. I don’t blame her. Their baby is due in 10 Days! Final stretch!
Ann, enjoy the warm sunshine and walks. So good to get outside and see sun. It lifts our spirits!
Have a good weekend all!

Hi All!
Well, we survived 2 days of Easy Rider bikers and maybe made a little $$$. The weather was very iffy today, so many who were scheduled to ride didn't. Still, with locals coming in we sold quite a few dinners. Yesterday, we had fried fish & shrimp dinners and jambalaya. Those who came liked the food & hospitality and went back and told others and many more decided to come today. Unfortunately, the weather didn't cooperate and so the biker crowd was lighter, but the locals came out, so I guess things evened out. Today, we had fried fish & shrimp, then fried shrimp when we ran out of fish and finally only pastalaya and jambalaya when the shrimp ran out. The photographer showed up today and bikers could opt to take pictures with some of the local actors from the movie. All the memorabilia and pictures were popular and we sold quite a few t-shirts, but have a lot left.
I got home about 3:00 PM to find the electricity had been off since around 1:00 PM. The wind was terrible, and we had some lightning and thunder, but very little rain. Most of the storm and tornadoes passed further north and we were spared. There is another line of weather that will pass in an hour or so, and then our temps will be 20-25 degrees lower tomorrow than today.
DGS was able to go on his class trip to NYC and by all accounts is having a blast. My niece and her son are also on the trip and she has sent pics of the boys together. DD is still feeling pretty rough, but DH picked up and delivered prescription Rx yesterday, so they should all be better by tomorrow. DGDs were feeling better today. DH & I and DD2 are still feeling okay--so far, so good.
The Chicken Florentine was very good, so I will email the recipe to you. I ate the remainder of the leftovers for dinner tonight. I served it with rotini pasta.
I face-timed with DGD Madison in MI last night. She was worried that she wouldn't find any eggs at the Easter Egg Hunt today. (I'm afraid she is following in her mother's footsteps regarding anxiety!) She called to FT this evening and happily reported she found LOTS of eggs, lol.
Nothing on the agenda for tomorrow other than church and coffee call. YAY!!!! I may slip off to Market at the Mill in town for a while. That's the big cotton seed mill that is used twice per year for vendors and they usually have beautiful and unique items.
Sue - Congratulations on your recovery milestone! How awesome to celebrate with ribs, one of my favorite meals.
Ann - I'm glad your freezer issues are resolved. I am in awe of your 17,000 steps!
Judy - My DD3 was quite upset that her area of MI has a measles outbreak. The pediatrician advised that they step up Leah's immunization schedule by several months and she got her second dose of MMR a week or so ago. A newborn will definitely be at risk, so they will have to be careful until the new baby can get immunizations.
Well, the electricity has blinked off & on twice while I typed this, so I am guessing that next line of storms is here, so I will sign off.
Sweet dreams!

Good morning all. Woke up and no sign of rain I'm liking that already. Not sure if it passed us, or just hasn't gotten around to it yet. Pam good to see you. Sorry your weather was iffy for the event. Nice that you got to FT with Madison. I hope you don't lose power again. Enjoy a nice laid back day today Should the weather cooperate, I'll take a few good hood walks. Yesterday's steps were 'over the top' I doubt I'll get anywhere near that amount and not going to strive for it. We'll have the turkey dinner that we were going to have yesterday. Carl will smoke it and I'll take care of the sides. Just a laid back day here putzing around. Waving to Sue and Judy and will CBL.

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Happy Sunday!! I just finished reading all your posts, so feel caught up.
Pam ~ Thanks for the recipe. I have saved it to my WW recipe file. Hope you have a less hectic day.
Ann ~ Congrats on your step count! You are awesome. Glad you got some of that warm & sunshine.
Judy ~ Tamiflu can be taken at the first sign of symptoms, but it is also a preventative, if taken early enough. Bummer that you're at the Cape and missing the beautiful weather at home. Hope your quilt works out for you. Let me know?? I am so glad I "discovered" them and how much we enjoy them. My sets always come with matching shams, so my bedroom is decorated.
After my wonderful 4+ hour lunch and visit with VBF (and a walk and a trip through Kohl's), I was driving home when DH called and "had an idea". I have been grousing a bit about our downstairs upright freezer needing defrosting and he was thinking it was a good time to do it. He had some boxes and his heat gun in his truck. I went on to Meijer and satisfied my short grocery list, then came home and got down all our coolers and emptied the frozen food into them. He got home and started melting the ice build-up. When it was all wiped out and dry, we replaced all the frozen food. The whole project start to finish only took a couple of hours. I am delighted that it is DONE!!
So this weekend I have felt very productive indeed. My house is clean and laundry caught up and now the freezer is done, and it is all a great feeling!! We woke this morning to temps in the 30's and rain/sleet mix falling down. They are predicting an ugly day, so you Easteners look out tomorrow! At least it warms up in the coming week. I'll be glad when warm comes to stay.
BBL. Make a great day!!
