Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today
Ruth - I have a Fitbit Charge2 and I love it. Unless it's charging or I'll be in/around water, I have it on - I even wear it while I'm sleeping because it tracks your sleep for you. It's my watch now. And it really keeps me motivated to move and get my steps in. If I didn't have it I know I'd be sitting around on the couch most of the day. I make daily goals for myself on steps.
I think the Charge is the one of the most basic models and that's all I wanted too. They have a Charge3 version now, which I think is the latest model.

I'm glad that they will check out your vehicle for you and I hope they do something for you. It's such a risk buying a used car sometimes, but I hope they can get this one working well for you.
It was a humid day here yesterday and warm. We had rain overnight and today is cloudy and I'm sure humid too, but I'm not going outside to test it out I've been running fans in the house when I needed them, since I'm not ready to set up the portable and window AC units yet.
I'm trying to figure out my phone situation. I hate change and I know I'll be "kicking and screaming" as I probably give up my landline phones in the house. I do have to admit that it's been nice not getting all those irritating sales calls.
It's Slow Sunday stitching day so I'll check out those blogs and I hope to get those sashes sewn back onto those quilt block that I had to rip off, and do it correctly this time
Take care everyone and have a great day!

CJ, yes it does seem so early to start using the a/c. My dh was talking about ours the other day but it's going to be awhile before we need it. I do hope you get the sashing done and it comes out exactly how you want it. Thank you for the info on the fitbit. Yes that's all I need is the basics and wonder why I'm even thinking of getting one when all I need is a pedometer. I still have my Omron HJ112 but the step counting isn't and never was real accurate but do I even need accurate. I clicked the link you posted for the 3 model and laughed when I saw that it tracks "female heath". Well I don't think I need fertility info anymore I am thinking of the charge2 but still am wondering about the cheapie brands. I know that fitbit stands behind theirs and all the people I've know that had problems found that the company just send a whole new replacement so that sounds good to me Last night I was near the end of the last row of my hat when I found that several rows back I made a mistake that couln't be left...it was very obvious and affected the outcome. So I ripped it out and finished it this morning. It sure is pretty if I do say so myself. I made it in the turqua I had left over and a section of white. I'm glad I added the white because it really makes the hat. So then I was trying to decide what to work on next and I found the most beautiful pattern for a baby lovey so I'm going to make one for the new dggc expected in late Sept or early Oct and one for his/her big sister who will be 2 by then. We'll find out if it's a little sister or little brother next week...on Thurs. They probably want a boy. This is going to be such a busy week but with lots of sitting involved so will take crochet projects to work on while sitting and waiting at the two car dealers. Want to thank you all for the good wishes on the solution to my car problem. Buying a used car is just like gambling...you never know if you're just tossing money away

Good evening! So instead of my usual whining at the end of a post I will whine now, is it really Sunday and where did this week go?
Ruth- like CJ I have a fitbit charge, which I love. Like CJ, I wear it all the time and it does a great job of kicking me in the can to get me moving. Its wonderful for sleep information too, not that I rely on it to diagnose sleep problems but sometimes its helpful to see an overall trend in my sleep patterns. Of course I also use it to monitor my workout intensity and how many steps I have gotten in. Yes, a pedometer can do some of the same tasks....as far as the APP goes, I have it on my phone, and IPAD, and wonder if your Chromebook can handle it. I used to have the APP on my desktop computer and would sync using that. One nice feature is that you can see overall trends in your activity, if its increased or stayed the same or gone down. I love that hat pattern, what a shame that you had to rip some out. You are right, its a beautiful pattern, loks like a difficult design to master. Best of luck with the car dealership. It sounds as if they want to work with you and Dh- lets hope something fair and equitable can be worked out and the issue is repaired. Thank good ness for crochetting and other hand work- nice to have such portable crafts that help keep those minutes waiting productive. I am sure this week will be busy getting ready for your sisters visit at the end of the week.
CJ- we switched to cable provider for our landline. Yes the phone calls were horrific- and then I discovered a website. “Nomorobo”-its a service provided by our cable provider, I registered with them and the number of robo calls have gone down a lot. Maybe you can try that too. Switching cable companies, and therefore my internet provider and phone service was a nightmare and a ton of work. Hope your weather settles down and gets a little bit cooler. It seems too early for airconditioning and humidity. Did yo see anything inspiring at slow stitch sunday?
Finished my first of 4 quilt blocks for the month, the same technique was used for this block as will be used for the other 3, so I guess It will not be too tough. Next month we do english paper piecing.
Hope each of you had a good weekend. Ginny

ONe thing about having a fitbit is that it will keep me moving. I would hate to see it wasted so I'd definitely keep up at least walking.
Ginny, so glad to hear that you were able to get one square done already and are finding them easy to do. No the hat isn't difficult at all. Now I've started a star shaped baby lovey. I've never done a star shape anything before and it's going really well. I'm not sure what animal head I'll make to put in the middle. I didn't really have the colors I wanted even with all this yarn but I think my yellow gray and white are going to look good. The gray is light and seems to go well with the yellow. So maybe I'll make a yellow bunny head and arms for on it or a chicken. Don't know what colors I'm going to use for the other one. I'll probably wait till next week when we find out which it will be... a little him or a little her. I do have a really nice green that I think would be great also with gray and white. The blanket part of this lovey isn't taking any time at all.I may have to make some of my baby blankets in this star shape. It would be the same pattern only larger and without a stuffy head
I saw a really beautiful pattern today for a granny sqare log cabin afgan. It's the prettiest one I've ever seen in log cabin. I'm not going to make it but it sure is pretty.
Yes I was thinking earlier about how fast this week went by. See you on the new thread tomorrow
