Gotta get back to doing things on my list. I tried to send emails x3...all to the same person but I kept accidentally just brushing the keypad and they zipped off into cyberspace. That's been happening a lot to me lately.
Much cooler today and I don't like it but it is what it is as they say. There's a purpose for everything

Good afternoon! Got a break from babysitting , both grandkids are napping. I am super thankful i made a chicken pot pie last night for todays dinner.....so all i have to do is heat it up.
Ruth is the new tablet causing the problem with the emails? Not that its the tablet at fault but is this something that you can overcome? My old email used to give me more trouble than the yahoo account I use now. Its really really frustrating for sure! I wonder if there is a way you can make your keyboard less sensitive, some sort of software fix for that problem. Perhaps try looking on the internet for that kind of advice.
No crafting for me today and I hope to get to study tonight....so I will not get any done then. There is hope for tomorrow....perhaps Wednesday. Ginny

I guess my emails did go through after all. I don't think the problem is with the email program it's with me. I keep letting those heels of my hands rest on it and this morning brushed the keypad. Whenever my son comes to visit I'll ask him about it. I also haven't figured out how to highlight things except for links in the browser line in order to copy and paste.
Yes Mondays are always busy for you with babysitting, dinner, then the Bible study. There's tomorrow for crafting
Well I got all the removable cushions done and now have to do the built in one...those that are sewn in place but lift up. They'll be a lot harder to do. I also got some dusting done and a couple other things. Now when dh gets up I can do the kitchen.
That chicken pot pie sounds so good but we've had chicken the last two days so I need to make something different. Dh still has spaghetti but needs something else. Everything is frozen right now so there's a lot I can't make until something thaws but I think I'll make the WW taco soup because you can always cook with frozen ground beef with defrosting either in the pan or the micro.
Never did get the head done on the doll last night. My plans keep changing or I get distracted and do something else instead. So hopefully it will be all done this evening.

That chicken pot pie is in the oven....working on a veggie now, so dinner is pretty much done.
Which ww taco soup recipe do you use?? I know there was one that was literally just a can of tomatoes (crushed) a can of refried beans, a can of corn and maybe a jar of salsa.....mild or hot to taste. Dump them all together and heat. It makes an easy and very filling soup!
Better go work on the beets- which should be almost done G

I use the one with ground beef, ( I think they might say ground turkey but I never use that), can of tomatoes, can of corn, can of refried beans, can of small red beans ( or whatever beans I have handy), taco seasoning, and anything else that comes to mind I was wondering if you served anything else with your potpie since it does have veggies in it but beets sound really good. I love beets. Do you use fresh or canned? My favorite is Harvard beets or if I want easier I just heat and pickle....vinegar and sugar.

I had some fresh beets, and made harvard beets. Add nice color and a bit of tartness to a otherwise pleasant but not heavily spiced meal. Oh, and applesauce- which is a mainstay in our house.
Ok, I have made that taco soup recipe too- and its great. Can sit in the crockpot for hours or be made a short time in advance and taste like you were cooking all day. Enjoy your dinner! G

hi crafters,
I finally spent time in my playpen.we figured out that block friday. made 3 today. may take them apart. nothing in the directions about pressing the seams.there is one area in the beginning it says do not press. well if I don't after that we have bulky seams.
talked to the quilt shop lady she said to press.
yesterday I finished up shopping for hannah's bday presents.
not sure if we will see her wednesday or not.
mostly gift cards. oh yeah she is now in that age. she will be 11. hannah loves to shop not so much her older sister.
well the big storm missed us saturday.we did have some rain and snow and wind and cold.snow did not stay and we got less then an inch.
gma says there is another one on the way. not sure what states this will hit.phyl

Hey Phyl! Gee, another snow storm on the way? Wow, its late in the season. Did not get to see a national forcast like that, usually GMA does a decent job of predicting. Hope you are clear of it and its a no snow event. Happy birthday to Hannah! Indeed, at the age of 11, she is entering “that age”- and gift cards are a wonderful thing. How did she get to be that old? Childhood flies, doesn’t it? Congrats on figuring out the block. (I had to take my block apart so that I could get it right). I agree with your quilt shop lady- press the seams. So glad you figured it out!!! What color scheme is the quilt?
Made it to study group- very glad I went. Gotta go get some sleep. Night all Ginny.

yikes, what is all this white stuff on the ground and the trees??? Just came upstairs and found snow and it's only 33 degrees. Just like in the book I'm reading, I'm always waiting for something...right now what I'm waiting for is real spring.Good news is that it's not windy so I can make a woodstove fire with the wood I kept near and in the house.
Yes most children dislike going to bed be it for a nap or bedtime. I think I told you about my son's 4th daughter. She is the only child I've ever met that actually wanted to take a nap or go to bed for the night.I do hope you get to work with your fabric. I was lazy last night and didn't get the doll done
see you all later

We had about six inches of snow, and the low yesterday was 13 degrees. The temperature will be back to the 50s in a few days.
People with allergies are having problems. Too bad that includes me. I guess it's technically asthma now. I seem to be resisting the label.
This is finals week at the university. The parking lots are vacant.
The flooring is going into the duplex today. It's looking good. I'll go by tomorrow. There will be lot of rentals available next week. I don't know whether J and gf are going to rent the duplex unit or not. She's hoping to find a fenced yard. It will be nice to have that project finished.
Some slight progress on my sister's estate, but I see that dragging on for a longer time. Too bad. I have an phone conference appointment with my attorney on Thursday afternoon.
I'm within half an hour of finishing the last infinity scarf. It's Aguascalientes's, a darker color and a teal. Made from one of the yarn rolls. The colors are very good! I started with sc, switched to hdc, then ended with sc.

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today
Sorry to hear that some of you are still having winter weather, hope it gets warmer for you soon. It was really cool here yesterday, especially in the house. I almost turned on the heat, but resisted and just bundled up. It was nice sleeping weather though. We're supposed to get some days in the 80s now.
I went out yesterday and did a bunch of shopping and also picked up a new pair of prescription sunglasses I had made. I have to go back for a new pair of regular glasses later this week.
I was watching some videos this morning done by Jordan Fabrics. They are located in Oregon and their shop would sure be wonderful to visit. Here's a link to where you can get to her videos on YouTube:
jordanfabrics.com/pages/videos-tutorials
I also like all the different Log Cabin layouts she has:
jordanfabrics.com/pages/quilt-layouts-borders
I also want to try this Diamonds Quilt:
jordanfabrics.com/pages/diamonds
I think I'll just made a 4 patch block to see if I like it before I'd decide on a larger quilt. I like they way the offer so many free patterns, I downloaded several of them to add to all the other patterns that I'll probably never make
Take care everyone!

CJ- again, thanks for the links and all the cool quilt designs! THe diamonds quilt looks so neat, I would imagine you would need a special template to cut that. And fabric selection is huge.....you have to really know how to work the fabrics so it gets that echo look. I am sure you know what you are doing....do you think you will buy new fabric or use what you have in the house? Glad you were able to bundle up to stay comfortable. Sorry you are headed into the 80’s. Not my favorite weather for sure!
Sue, glad the duplex is coming along. Bet you cannot wait for that to be done- and also your sisters estate too! Is there a timeframe in which you have to have the estate settled? Congrats on getting the scarf almost done. Sounds as though it looks so very pretty. ITs been a rough year for allergies....mine included. I had to break down and take flonase in addition to my antihistamine. Hope you are taking something to keep things under control. I know for fact that its a mistake to let allergies get out of control....best to nip them early on. (My Dh lets himself get to being totally miserable before he treats his allergies). Hope that snow melts soon.
Ruth, well DGD just has too much fun here to want to nap. She did nap eventually- a nap she desparately needed. What a funny age she is at . When I was a child, (and I remember this incident) we have company over....and I was tired. I remember asking my parents permission to go to bed- because I was exhausted. the company was shocked- what kid asks to go to bed? Hope you are enjoying your book....hey, did you get any more cleaning done today?
Gotta go get the suet block in. Pretty exciting here, we had a black and white warbler here at the feeder yesterday. Neither Dh nor I had seen one here before....a cute little bird. Very distinctive looking.
Ok enough from me. Have a great night all Ginny
